  1. Still, the blaster fire at the opening of each page bugs the heck out of me ! Some people open websites while at work.
  2. Just a joke, as in; "if people did this to their Rubies, they would look better."
  3. Alex, that's exactly how I wake up MOST mornings!
  4. Well yeah! LOL...I'll give you that point. However this Jabba isn't that far off from the re-release ANH CGI one.
  5. I wish the poll had a "Tom Who?" option.
  6. Because dressing in plastic and obsessing about detail is cool? Just sayin!
  7. LOL...Great post!!!!!!!
  8. Finally, something that can be done to make a Rubies look better!
  9. Scott, I know what you’re looking for, it’s just a shame you can’t build something comparable for a whole lot less money. Couldn’t you build a frame out of piping and attach some heavy gauge, bendable wire. You could then wrap the pipe and wire in foam to get the human shape and throw some under armor on it, but the arms would be able to be posed? Just an idea. I’m sure the mannequin you’re looking at looks great, but the idea of the armor is to not see who or what is underneath. I just think for that much money you could get more star wars props! Which ever you decide, good luck (and think of building something)! Vic Matt: “Officer of Comedy Relief”, I like the sound of that!
  10. I had no idea there were so many places that would sell small quantity. The FISD comes through again. It looks like Speedy Metals is the cheapest for a thin walled 1.5" x 2' tube. Personally, I like supporting small business and industrial metals price is barely higher than Speedy Metals. Nice find everyone! Not to high-jack, but this could be a really fun build for less cost than I imagined. Good luck, Panda Edit: Check out this e-11 scratch built tutorial...tons of photos and pretty well done. The main body build begins on page 3: http://www.darksidesithlord.com/my-costume...reation-01.html
  11. Nice! I was wondering what happened. Glad to see it made it through. International Imitation Arms Smuggler still cracks me up...true though, but funny.
  12. I prefer Kim Cattrall, but that was way before the whole SITC thing. Sorry, I have nothing productive to offer this thread, the headline struck me as funny, that's all. I use PVC bulked with a duct tape dummy (me) up for some other costumes and plan on doing the same for my TK and Vader.
  13. Got mine too! Thanks Mike!

    New spam

Spam?!?! I've had a lovely six month on line relationship with Miss Tonia. I mean, this isn't like the others, we're really in love! I even helped pay for her grandmother's operation, her other grandmother's operation and having Miss Tonia's sixth toe removed. Huh...spam you say. Whoda thunk?
  15. Not quite the same as it was, but still inspirational! Nice to (ahem) see you again Julie...lol. Vic
  16. Just wondering here: isn't that the left bicep and are you wearing it a bit off? I've always thought the "thumb print" divot is supposed to be worn facing in...as in facing the body. Wearing it that way would give more room on the armpit area. Or, I could be totally wrong. (Go Vikes! Been a long day.)
  17. Wow Tom. Way to help. That seems pretty complete. If the ear isn't missing a chunk (it looks like its just twisted to me) then you should be able to figure it out easy enough Quinn. Now, please don't take this the wrong way, but as long as you're doing a quick little mod, it might be time to repaint those ears too. You can get a clean black stripe around the bumps by going to a hobby shop and buying model car pin striping tape; it's quick, easy and replaceable. Just a thought.
  18. Really nice post. For example, I had a question about if a piece had a return edge; now I was able to see it did not. Thanks! I hope these photos are up for years to come for people to use for research. edit: Wow 100th post! I just made Lieutenant
  19. Is this the first AM build? Can't wait to see it. Vic
  20. Whew, I had to reread the post. I thought you were going to go all rebel-scum on us. Still, I could picture Julie doing something like this...Pink 5 standing by... :luke3: Vic
  21. Great looking display! A fine addition to any SW room.
  22. I received mine in Minnesota today! Of course I had to flip to the A New Hope chapter first. Looks like it's going to be a great read. Thanks again Brian. Vic
  23. Great job Daniel! Way to work through the issues to get approval!
  24. Wait, wait, wait... aside from my TK project, my Vader begins in January. Is there a product that will be on the market comparable/cheaper or better than the Hyperdyne? Crazy as it may seem, if I can save just a bit of the $$$$$$$$$ budget for Vader, I'll be a happy Sith Lord. Is there a demo out that I can compare? PM me. Vic
