  2. Yeah, Vic, i know what you mean. The blaster fire off that websites makes me jump everytime too.
  3. Yes Indy 4 was borning. I think Lucas, Spielberg and Ford, all three thought if they throw out a label that everybody knows and loves, and by bringing the iconic actor Ford back, making the movie would be cake walk, and audiences will sit there for two hours and applaud. I was totally surprised after seeing the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. I remember reading in the early 1990's, all the way up to the point of the announcement that a new installment of Indiana Jones would be made, that Harrison kept saying he would not sign on until there was a decent enough story for him to commit to. Yet, during production it was still up in the air as to whether Sean Connery would return as Jones, Sr. Also, suddenly in mid-filming, the announcement of Karen Allen's returning, to repisie her roll as Marion. In my opinion this made me wonder if they had any real story or script to work with at all. I know you are going to say that scripts are always updating and changing as they go along. But, not when you are playing with multi millon dollar budget. You would think, at least, they would have the majority of their ducks in a row before, lights, camera, action. I also can say that Harrison is the type of actor that isn't shy about stating or chanigng things he thinks does not work well. But, maybe he was just along for the ride. As in the case of Mel Gibson, I know first hand, by working on the movie set of The Patriot, while everyone else would show up, including other principle actors, Jason Isaacs, Chris Cooper, Rene Auberjonois, and Adam Baldwin were always there, through every rehersal from sun up to sun down, dedicated to the movie to make it the best it could be. Where as Mel Gibson would show up around 4 PM, ten hours after everyone else had been on the set working. He had to have his lines fed to him by a script girl and then leaves around 6 PM. Mel had a long days work, huh? So when I say that maybe a new actor, hungry with a new perspective and eager to put forth his best performance, may be the shot of adrenalin it needs.
  4. Star Wars came out in 1977. even if you back up to the date that George Lucas started writing it back in 1973-74, Star Trek had been on TV since 1966. The cartoon series was on TV in the mid 70's. In the mid to late 70's, the original cast was slated to return for a new TV series called Star Trek The Next Phase. The only thing that Star Wars really did for Star Trek was, when Star Wars, A New Hope was such a blockbuster film in 1977, Paramount scratched the idea of making Star Trek a TV series and changed it into a major motion picture. So to say that Star Trek is a cheap copy of Star Wars. Look at the production dates of both of them and ask yourself, which came first the chicken or the egg? Don't get me wrong, I can sit here and talk about Star Wars until the sun burned out, but Star Wars does have it flaws too. I am going to name a few: George Lucas only putting out the original theatrical versions of the Original Trilogy on DVD, in non-anamorphic letter box only. (This makes it difficult to watch it properly on a wide screen TV) Ewoks Jar Jar Hayden Christensen Jake Lloyd midichlorians and definiitly not enough stormtroopers and clonetroopers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I don't know what Hardy will bring to the Mad Max series, but I do think he is a talent that shows diversity. One thing I am glad is that he is not a well know actor, but has been in movies and TV since 2001. I think we can remember that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Cary Fisher had acted before Star Wars, but were essentially unknowns until May 25, 1977. So think outside the box. What I should have probably asked; Can the Mad Max series survive without Byron Kennedy? Kennedy had a major roll in the story line in the first 2 Mad Max movies. I think he was the heart and soul that pushed them to be raw and edgy. I think this why Thunderdome was too Hollywood, commercialized, with a sagging story, with a Tina Turner soundtrack to boot. Kennedy passed away on 17 July 1983 and had no part in the third installment. Here are some of the movies Hardy has been in. Black Hawk Down (2001) (as Thomas Hardy) .... Twombly Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) .... Praetor Shinzon Bronson (2008) .... Charles Bronson RocknRolla (2008) .... Handsome Bob
  6. QUOTE (RogueTrooper @ Jan 6 2010, 07:09 PM) It is the BIGGER and TALLER version of the FX armor From what I got from an email from Mike Gordon after inquiring about info on the TKX armor. Not only does it have the sharper detail, it is designed like the FX armor for extra large people. I assumed that everyone knew that the FX armor was already oversized to begin with. (Sorry my bad) I asked Mike in an email what the parameters were for the TKX armor and how it differs from the FX armor. and cost of the kit? I have copied and pasted his reply here: The TKX is sharper detail and made for larger people. Depends on your size "height and weight" The TKX cost around the same a little more. But is not EBAY price so if that is what you want best go to ebay and get the copied FX that some are getting . It is cheep becaue the guy copied it from a suit he purchased and the detail is not as sharp. When a suit shows lines clearly and outlines stick out that is good. Mike - Imperial Quartermaster - TK1336 StormTrooper 501st What I am getting from his email is that the X in TKX stands for "extra" when refering to clothing size. After normal sizes, small, medium, large, clothing goes to one X, two XX, three XXX. So that is what I meant when I said a bigger, taller version of the FX armor,

  8. A fourth installment of the MAD MAX series has been green lit, entilted Mad Max 'Fury Road'. Mad Max creator George Miller states that Fury Road' will not be a re-boot like Batman and Star Trek, but continues the story line, to be set after Beyond Thunderdome. Tom Hardy has been cast to replace Gibson in the role of badass ex-cop Max Rockatansky. Mel Gibson, star of 1979ā€™s Mad Max and the sequels that followed in 1981 and 1985, apparently will not reprise his role in the sequel. Australian native Sam Worthington (Terminator: Salvation) was thought to be top choice for the part, but Miller never even asked Worthington to audition. Miller also cast Charlize Theron in the fourth installment of his post-apocalyptic action saga. Does the vision of Theron on tricked out motorcycles blowing stuff up in the Australian outback sound like a match made in survivalist heaven or a casting choice from hell? The film is to be produced in conjunction with Warner Brothers, and the production budget, looks to be upwards of $130m. Mad Max 4 Fury Road which is slated to begin shooting in August 2010, but pre-production has already commenced. The film is planned for a 30 week shoot. Filming Locations Sydnay AU. and Broken Hill, the same Mad Max 2 'The Road Warrior" The projected release date for the film itself is some two and a half years away - look for Fury Road to hit screens no earlier than May 2012 at this stage! Can the franchise survive without Mel ?? My opinion, I hope so! I think that Mad Max deserves a better send off than Thunderdome. Here are some video links about 'Fury Road': ------------

  18. Man, I can't believe it that ended at $52.usd, the resin in it probably cost more than that!
  19. HEY ! This is A Star Wars Forum NOT A Star Trek Forum !!! NO TREKKIES ALLOWED !!!!! FREEZE THAT MAN IN CARBONITE!!!!!! LOL just kidding I love Star trek too!! I remember watching the Oniginal series as I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, and having the Mego figures. Then I got into the Next Generation and Deep Space 9. But I hate Voyager. For 7 years, it was the same thing over and over. They would go into an area of space where the alien life forms told them "to leave now". Janeway always tried to be a diplomat but always ended up doing something reckless at the end. I thought when 7 of 9 came aboard, there was going to be some good controversy on the show, but all it did was make me yawn! I could go on about the rest of the cast members, but they were too boring to acknowledge, except for the Doc. He was the only shining light on that whole miserable series. I reallly got ticked off when they only made 4 seasons of Enterprise When it came to Enterprise, I couldn't understand why people didn't get into it. I guess the fan base had lost interest in Star Trek at the time. In my belief it was a very strong show, with great cast members, just the wrong time. ALL the Trek movies were great except for Trek 5 (The Final Frontier) Shatner needed to stay away from directing! I wish they could have gotten Sean Connery to have played Spock's half brother, since the part was actually written for him. But, Connery was already pinned down for the Hunt For Red October. When I saw they were trying to revamp the original series in a major motion picture, with all new poeple playing iconic characters, that Shatner, Nemoy and Kelly embodied, I did not think that it was going to "live long and prosper". After seeing it in the theatre, I thought it was an extremely well made picture, well cast, well written movie. I was even a little worried that even if it was a well acted movie, how were they going to surprise the true die hard trekkies? But, with a story plot twist, I think it was proven that a new version of an old thing will have a new life after all. So, to give you my answer, Sonnenschein, am I also a trekkie?? I can only say one thing K......A .....H..... N......!!!!!!!
  20. SWEET!!! that's one cool lookin' bucket!
  21. Hey Caleb, You probably thought I forgot about working on the display case for your TE ROTJ suit. I wanted to run one of the concepts for it by you before I get a parts list together for you and how to put it together. I have another idea for a different concept, but still working out some of the kinks before I show it to you. This display I call, Fallen Warrior. My thoughts on it were that the armor was from a fallen Stormtrooper. To have the armor laid out as a tribute on display, like you might see in a museum. The concept of the plaque has the added cog. I just put some writing on the plaque just to give you an idea of what it would look like once you had it engraved. You can go to any trophy shop and have them use any style font and color of material for the plaque. Let me know what you like or dislike about the concepts and I will work with you on making the changes if you have any ideas.
  22. The base actually does go into the heel of the mannequin's left foot, but that is not how I am using it. I got a piece of flat iron at the hardware store. I connected, it to the original base that came with the mannequin. I attached the flat iron with a couple of expander bolts (like the kind you put into a wall when you don't have a stud). All you have to do is pull the leg of the undersuit to just above the calf, attach the flat iron by tightening the two bolts to the calf, slip the leg of the undersuit back down. It covers without any problems. Then put your calf armor on. That's it. You can't even tell with the undersuit and armor, that the flat iron is even there. There is no need to cut holes in any shoe, armor, undergarmet, etc. Only the mannequin was harmed in this process
  23. Hey Andy, It is a nice looking bucket. Just wondered if it is styrene and what gauge?
