  1. In this lavish thirtieth-anniversary tribute to the blockbuster film StarWars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, New York Times bestselling author J. W. Rinzler draws back the curtain to reveal the intense drama and magnificent wizardry behind the hit movie—without doubt the fan favorite of the Star Wars saga. Following his The Making of Star Wars, the author has once again made use of his unlimited access to the Lucasfilm Archives and its hidden treasures of previously unpublished interviews, photos, artwork, and production mementos. The result is a comprehensive behind-the-scenes, up-close-and-personal look at the trials and triumphs, risks and close calls, inspiration, perspiration, and imagination that went into every facet of this cinematic masterpiece. Here's the inside scoop on: *the evolution of the script, from story conference and treatment to fifth draft, as conceived, written, and rewritten by George Lucas, famed science-fiction author Leigh Brackett, and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan *the development of new key characters, including roguish hero Lando Calrissian, sinister bounty hunter Boba Fett, and iconic Jedi Master Yoda *the challenges of shooting the epic ice planet battle in the frozen reaches of Norway and of conjuring up convincing creatures and craft—from tauntauns and snowspeeders to Imperial walkers *the construction of a life-sized Millennium Falcon and the swamp planet Dagobah inside a specially built soundstage in Elstree Studios *the technique behind master Muppeteer Frank Oz's breathing life into the breakthrough character Yoda *the creation of the new, improved Industrial Light & Magic visual effects facility and the founding of the nowlegendary Skywalker Ranch In addition, of course, are rare on-the-scene interviews with all the major players: actors Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and David Prowse; director Irvin Kershner; producer Gary Kurtz; effects specialists Richard Edlund, DennisMuren, Ken Ralston, and Phil Tippett; composer John Williams; and many others. Punctuating the epic account is a bounty of drawings, storyboards, and paintings by Ralph McQuarrie, Joe Johnston, and Ivor Beddoes, along with classic and rare production photos. An added bonus is a Foreword by acclaimed director Ridley Scott. The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is a fittingly glorious celebration of an undisputed space-fantasy moviemilestone. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. J. W. RINZLER, executive editor at Lucasfilm Ltd., is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Making of Star Wars, as well as the London Times bestseller The Complete Making of Indiana Jones. Rinzler lives in Petaluma, California. Front of the cover Back of the cover The Making of the Empire Strikes Back will be available in 2010 and is being published by Del Rey Books. 4. After seeing this pic I had to put a caption on it...He is a cute little bloke, Peter. I am not seeing any trouble in his future with armor builds, he'll be making tutorials on the FISD by the age of 5!
  5. Nice a shiny... with that new car smell too Top notch Daryl!!! Got any pics of the interior??
  6. The animated gif looks SWEET! It's got my vote
  7. Thanks for the info Keith!! It looks like you have truly pimp out your bucket
  8. Thanks Paul If your theory on the ROTJ suits is correct, and they are the only armor able to be used.....Hmmmmmm. Do you think that is why Museum Replicas is taking so long to show any work on there TK/TD armor. Maybe they are trying to work to retro the ROTJ/SE to make the ANH armor..... If so...It has been done already and it is here TE2.....
  9. I remember now!!!! o' yeah.... IS CLASSIFIED....If I tell you the Emperor plans .....He will kill me!!!.......Sorry don't like being dead
  10. I had forgotten about this Hey Mathew, your audience is waiting!!!!! Please an update of your Droideka.
  11. Great job on moding the Hasbro!!! Looks awesome Bill!!!!
  12. Whatz up! Like Indy finding an old supernatural artifact, I have dug up some old footage that has ROTJ /SE armor in it.... I have a CD-ROM that was made in 1995/96 that is called “Making Magic” that is the behind the scenes of ILM and LFL working on the Special Edition of ANH. The title is “Anatomy of a Dewback,” but I thought since it has some behind the scenes footage of them digging out the old armor, I thought it needed to be posted for all TD/TK armor junkies and for anyone that has not seen this before. Enjoy! ============ http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/TheRogueTrooper/mm3.jpg
  13. Hey Julie! I have to pick on you a little more since you cannot find a TK bucket to go with your armor and refused to dye your hair chestnut brown for the Slave leia outfit <_< But you have gone too far!!!!! When you dress in the ANH Leia you gotta wear the buns :leia: no questions asked!! So I took the liberty and helped you out............
  14. Very Good, I got some Lightsaber grebblies from them to do up a few of my Graflexes. But as Billy said " Tad pricey" but in my eyes well with every coin!!!
  15. Welcome Izzi to the FISD Bro!! I am lovin' your Stealth with gold....It's Deadly man!
  16. Cannot wait to see more pics of your build. When you get ready to do your thermal detonator and want to be 100% accurate. 7 and 1/4 inches is the correct length... Here are some pics and some measurements (that I borrowed from Billy (Thanks Billy!) of the back of an on screen suit to help you.
  17. LOL!! I am sorry I am not laughing at you but with you mate... I had a similar situation several years ago, when I first started doing hand laid fiberglass. The resin ate through the cheap gloves and believe you me that was a true life lesson!! Life lesson : Do not buy cheap gloves Looking good Stephen! BTW I think this is the post you are asking about, Andy plasti-dipin' his AP bucket: TK-1287 ESB Build , From start to finish. Pic 1 of Andy's AP helmet with plasti-dip: Pic 2 of Andy's AP helmet with plasti-dip:
  18. WAY TO GO VIC!!!!! HIP! HIP! HOORAY!! Top notch! The only bad thing is the seller will give the second place bidder a second chance offer at his last bid But enough negative feedback and no one will want to deal with him
  19. My first guess is: nothing good on TV! Second guess: a lot of people forgot to log out.
  20. The cap does look a little narrow... but a lot better looking helmet than the FX bubble bucket. On the Dented Helmet and the RPF forums, most of the guys like Kwdesigns work. Kevin has a line of clone stuff too!
  21. That is nuts some one is bidding on it o' well, the unlucky winner will be the one to give this guy more negative feedback! Thanks for the try Vic!
  22. Hi Rob, You can check this link too: --------
