  1. Jedi-Robe and any one on this list above, you should stay away, (avoid). If you need armor look at this following link: good reputation http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11538
  2. Basically the HWT A.K.A. Battle Front Shock Trooper is an ANH Stunt (it has the TK ab details and TK sniper knee plate, ribbed shoulder straps etc.) with a field pack, pauldron, and pouches similar to the Sandtroopers. Their weapon is primarily the Minimag PLT missile launcher, but uses other weapons, like the T-21, DLT-19 even the SE-14R in the game. Here is a little synopsis, that I wrote for them: Heavy Weapons Troopers ( A.K.A. Shock Troopers) are an elite unit of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps, specializing in the use of various non-standard weapons and equipment. Their armor is extra heavy plated compared to the standard Stormtrooper armor. Some, equipped with rocket launchers, act as anti-vehicle units on the battlefield. They are trained to hit hard targets and to guard strategic locations. The Heavy Weapons Troopers operate as splinter units, backing up standard garrisons and fulfilling unique roles on the battlefield. There were HWT TDs in ANH. To keep down some confusion, I wish we would change the name to Shock Trooper as it is in the Battle Front game (where this trooper is from). Or maybe Shock Stormtrooper, either way STK......
  3. Where, What and Whom To Avoid When Buying When new to buying armor and products, there is certainly "a wretched hive of scum and villainy" and Rancor pits out there, or in other words what and who you need to avoid when purchasing armor and other products. This advice will help you to avoid lot of headaches and over spending. When Paying For Any Product and/or Services: PayPal is always going to be a safe way to send any payment. However, you must understand NEVER to send any payment via the "Gift" option for any product, work or services. PayPal will not cover any transaction under the "Gift" option at all. Always use the"Goods and Services", option when sending payment so that you have recourse through PayPal if any problems should arise during or after the transaction NOTE: You have a 90 window with PayPal to file a dispute/claim. Never send cash and/or money orders. These can easily be lost and never the reach the proper person. Plus you have no record for any recourse. Anovos: Anovos are now officially defunct At one time this armorer was considered reputable and sold relatively inexpensive kits that were capable of being approved all the way to Centurion level. However, in the last year or so the customer service is such that people have been waiting 18 months (and longer) for delivery, the price has skyrocketed and the communication is terrible. All sales are final. No refunds. As of this time they are currently involved in a class action lawsuit so are therefore not recommended at this time. Rubies Supreme Stormtrooper Costume: Even though the Rubies TK armor is licensed by Lucas Films, it is not acceptable for Legion membership without a LOT of work and putting a LOT more money and time into it. The average price for a Rubies Supreme Stormtrooper Costume is $400USD (305 Euros) to $700USD (535 Euros). But, after you factor in that you will have to purchase a replacement helmet, buy supplies to modify the armor, all this, just to get the Rubies TK armor up to Legion standards. It would be cheaper and easier for you to start with a new armor kit. There have been a few members that have done Rubies with all the upgrades, but afterwards said they spent a lot of time and money and will be looking into a different suit of armor next. RE-CASTING What exactly is re-casting? Re-casting/caster is a term used for an unscrupulous person who uses a quality set of armor to make copies in order to sell them at a discounted price. The original armorers spend hundreds of hours and in many cases thousands of dollars to sculpt quality molds, known as "bucks". Re-casters simply use the completed pieces to make counterfeit molds. These are more often than not inferior products that do not have the clean, crisp details required for 501st approval and for that reason we discourage you from purchasing them. Other reasons why not to consider re-cast armor: 1. First, the quality and customer service are not there. It may look like you are getting a great deal because of the price and/or possibly faster delivery time frame and you are eager to get started on your TK build as soon as possible, but this is often not the case.2. 99% of the time, the product will be made out of sub-standard material that will not withstand trooping or may even arrive at your door step with problems to begin with. Then that "good deal" turns into a money pit. You will end up spending even more hard earned cash and time trying to fix or this now "not so good deal" than if you had taken the money that you spent on the re-cast trying to get it up to 501st approval level and applied it to a product from a reputable vendor.3. Re-casting is basically stealing. I would hope that no one here condones stealing. If you have a question about whether or not a kit is a re-cast, we encourage you to ask here before purchasing. Websites and individuals: There are also certain sellers and websites that need to be avoided because of how that individual conducts themselves. Take for instance Star Fortress is run by a known pedophile and for bad product. TE is known for the way he conducts business and is also known for failing to ship product even months after payment was made. Ebay: Avoid kits on Ebay for the reason that was mentioned above, since they are 99.9% re-cast. Have Jedi patience. Save yourself the headaches and money loss by avoiding any dealings with re-casters and unscrupulous people and websites. It will save you a lot of headaches and money.
  4. Congrats Tim Great looking TK. Now if you will, We need a few TKs to stand guard at the tractor beam control station that is coupled to the main reactor. It could be a little boring and you may get a little annoyed with a the all the hot gases .... But we may have some Rebels trying to get to that area.
  5. Hey Matt, Originally for this Centurion requirement, there was a discussion and it was voted on (back before my time) The vote was for to be able to riveted/brad the sniper knee plate. But, there was enough TKs wanting it to be like the screen accurate way (glued) to merit stating it in the requirement. The original writer of "Ideally there should be no visible rivets or brads used to secure the sniper plate to the left greave." This is what they are conveying (my new re-worked verbiage requirement): In an ideal situation or world, you should be gluing your Sniper Knee Plate (as seen in the movie). But if you are having trouble gluing it, it's O.K. to use rivets or brads to secure the Sniper Knee Plate to the top front of the left greave/shin. In short, it would be great to see any TK going for their Centurion with their sniper knee plate glued on, but you can use the rivets and/or brads and it will pass. I have been working on better verbiage for all the requirements to help clarify the info in them. After we (TKs) go through the discussions and vote on a few items for the requirements, I will be able to post them up.....
  6. Dan, I have to say your TKC is one of the best if not the best to date. You did a outstanding job. Great battle wear........ BTW, I think that these pix below are wicked:
  7. Hey Mrs. Dash!!! I wish you would quit doing all these "Me too" post and really do something man. The statement above is sarcasm, and you have done a great deal of good with theses 3000th post for the FISD. Thanks for all that you done and continue to do for the TK community. Here's to your next 3000th Mrs. Dash.
  8. I was working on that this yesterday when I had to stop because my Norton fraked up and shut down..... I will post the list Where to Avoid the next day or two.
  9. +1 You will easily spend over a 1000 bucks in materials to make molds and plastic, plus rigging up a home made vac table etc.... The only thing I know to do for reinforcing the styrene TK parts, use Loctile plastic epoxy with layers canvas or Duck cloth. You can get the both the Loctile epoxy and the canvas/duck cloth. Lot of work.
  10. I have a few friends in Denmark, They send me photo all the time. It has some beautiful landscapes.
  11. Happy Easter everyone!!!!!!!!!
  12. Are you sure you don't want to live at Hoth?
  13. Norway is a lovely country, are you sure you don't want to change??? Plus it is the same place where Hoth was filmed.... Just kidding, I sent the info to Darth Aloha and the other guys who work on the EIB info. It should be fixed very soon.....
  14. Be carefully with the acetone. I used it a few times to make of ABS paste etc... It can warp and weaken if you use to much. SDS uses a mix ratio with the acetone. Have you tried either the clear or milky clear ABS plumbing cement (like what you would find in the plumbing area of a Home Improvement store).
  15. Believe it or not, about the kidney and Butt plates.....The way the solid one piece Kidney/butt contour/fits to someone's body is different compared to the way separate two pieces contour/fits. You can see it and know , like looking at a Ford to a Chevy, you can tell the difference. Like everyone said above, as long as there is a separation/split of the kidney and butt plates, you will be good to go...Just take a good pic of the area, if you are worried. Looking for to seeing you go for your EIB!!!!
  16. Happy Birthday Steve!!! Awesome cakes bro i hope you have a great one !!
  17. Yes the ESB Lids and basic armor was a hand me down form ANH. ( not counting the Mark 2s) The lids were redone with decals, and afew add on's, (Handplates, Hosters, weapons etc...) From every screen grab the black elastic that went across the biceps in ANH is not visible in ESB. In fact I believe they were removed. and a new strapping was used to connect the shoulder bell and bicep, like a bungee strap almost like in in this pic: Also, the ESB TK on the steps in the pic. If you look at thier biceps, they look like they are just hanging. Now for the EI requirements, I knew a lot on members would re-use their basic ANH armor and just change out what was different from ANH and ESB (Lid, handplates, holster, blaster etc). That is why the EI states: Ideally no shoulder bell straps across the biceps. If there is a shoulder bell strap, it shall not be visible across the biceps. This is so, no one that is using their ANH armor would have to remove the black elastic strap that normally goes around the bicpes like in ANH. Just hide it. Now, it would be very hard to make the requirements for ESB that says: "biceps armor shall be worn low and not under the shoulder bells." Because of different body types (length of arms ). If you can do this, than you are one step closer to be able to looking like the TKs did in Episode V...
  18. Happy 20th Birthday Corey (Star Raider)!!!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEWv19Eh8b8 Hope you have a great one!!!!!!!
  19. Five more TKs 56 total with 44 spots open........
  20. One cool thing is for the original screen TK (stunt ANH) the Armor and helmets were not color matched. The original armor was a milk white and the helmets were a khaki and painted white..... So if your lid does not match exactly will your armor, then you will be in the right step with the movies TKs..
  21. Basically Maker of things is a lair and recaster of TE2 armor. His recast is very poorly done because the Hips is thin and over heated to the point that it becomes very brittle. You should contact ebay about this.
