  1. Awesome work As well as people wanting to do the full RO TK, I'm pretty sure that this chest and backplate are what the Special Forces Inferno Squad are wearing in the Battlefront 2 trailer and there seems to be a lot of interest in those guys at the moment over on Spec Ops and JRS.
  2. Depends on how good you are at painting My hand is not so steady so I used decals, if you're capable of doing the hand painted details then why not. You can also get decals that have the hand pained look, Trooperbay I think sells them. It really depends on how you want to assemble it, I have seen lots of different methods. Take a look through the build threads and see what you think might work for you. Look at another troopers armour in person if you can, better still try some on. You will probably find that no matter what, after you first troop in it you will need to make some adjustment. I would definitely recommend using double snaps in places such as the thighs becauuse of the amount of movement for those pieces, better than having them come undone part way through a troop I bought some adhesive foam strips that I placed inside those pieces to stop them rotating around. Hmmm... tricky one. Do you mean the full blaster kit or the kit for converting a hasbro toy blaster? You could just wait for them to come back in stock or if you have a friend/fellow garrison member who is a full Legion member you could get them to keep an eye out on the Legion Boards. Even if you're not going for EIB or Centurion it doesn't hurt to look at those requirements. Many of them are simple to achieve, for instance; the Centurion requirement for two male snaps on the crotch tab of the butt plate, trimmed corners on the ammo belt, closed in drop boxes. It will make your armour look better and that is always a good thing. I only have basic 501st clearance but when I was building mine I still did every Centurion requirement I could, I don't pass the Centurion requirements in a couple of areas but that's ok because I'm satisfied that I got my armour as good as was possible for me Hope that all helps a little.
  3. Awesome I always that the TD designation was a bit odd.
  4. Those are the "cheesegrater" hand plates which were worn by a few of the Sand Troopers.
  5. Hmmm... that makes it a bit more difficult...... Could you maybe suspend it from the left side of the pauldron with a strap that loops down under the left arm (like the backpack strap would) if you give it a bit of slack for movement it shouldn't push the shoulder bell out (maybe)
  6. AM is also built for the bigger troopers but don't get the helmet as it is most likely that it will soon not be approvable, just get a helmet from a different supplier. AM is also pre-trimmed ABS and having almost completed an untrimmed (helmet) kit I must say I'm really glad that my first armour build was pre-trimmed. I looked at the Jedi Robe armour myself just last year when I was first looking for armour, luckily I was already kind of aware of the 501st and the claim of it being 501st Approved prompted me to contact my local garrison and ask if that was correct, they quickly set me on the right track
  7. Same here, I just slid the strap for my backpack through the existing loops on the back of the ammo pouch.
  8. Glad to see that the contents survived whatever happened to the box
  9. Nice! I want to do a clone as well but I'm having trouble trying to decide which one to do, there's so many to choose from.
  10. Yeah the instructions with the AM kit are pretty useless. Pandatroopers build thread was my bible when I was building my AM http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=10434 Good luck with the build, take your time and enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to ask questions here or at your local garrison.
  11. Best wishes to you and your wife.
