  1. I’ve been poking around my local garrison’s page for the last few years, and have decided against a sandtrooper for my first build in favour of a classic TK. I’m aiming for an approved centurion for when I turn 18 in March, so I have a bit of a journey ahead! Using the guidance from many helpful threads, I’ve contacted Mark (Authentic Props) and am getting a self-assemble trimmed kit. I’ll be logging my progress when I start getting things together and look forward to sharing the fun with everyone!

  2. Been a 501st member since 2009, got a hold of a ap tk kit last year, sans the helmet (sourced from DA) my plan is to build a replica Luke anh hero tk. Any spesific threads for this particular build? Om finding it hard to find specific info om that particular suit. Im 170cm tall, basically around hammils height. So i would love to make a replica of the armour he wears in anh. So far i have found out his helmet most likely has elleven stripes on the left cheek and thirteen on the right? Please correct me if im wrong. Anywho, im just dipping my toe in, but seem to have contrated a tm kit as well, woch eoll become a td.

  6. Welcome to the FISD, Noah, and great to hear that you have ordered your armor! As has been mentioned, research is the key to a successful build. Another bit of advice is to take... your... time. Trying to rush through a build can (and usually does) lead to "oops" moments. When in doubt, ask. We are here to help every step of the way! Another thing I suggest is to get all of your build supplies in order before starting. Having things on-hand and organized will make life easier. Trust me. As Andrew mentioned, there are 2 optional accuracy levels after Basic 501st approval which are honestly not that difficult if you want to go the extra mile. It's much easier to tackle these during your build rather than after, and the extra work will definitely pay off with a much better looking set of armor. If you have already joined the Outer Rim Garrison you should ask about "Armor parties". There may also be some local TKs that are willing to help in person, but know that we are here for any and all advice you need. Have FUN with your build, and I look forward to seeing you around the forums!

  7. Welcome to FISD. If I have a quid for each time I spelt the url wrong.... Unfortunately I don't think it's that simple. Just because you're 5% shorter doesn't also mean you're 5% thinner for example. Really all scaling shout be done to suit you. There's lot of videos online about scaling armour. You're best bet is probably the Iron man builders who really have to nail it.

  8. Hello and welcome to the forum, I haven't seen that particular set of files built to date, a great 3D build here. Conversation on 3D armor files Some ROTK greeble files here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3973969 Boxes Some files you may find useful E-11 and DLT-19 are a little different than the standard OTTK so you may want to compare with the Rouge One CRL https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rogue_one For a ROTK E-11 they don't get much better than these files https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4941511 E-11 references ROTK resources Great build of Nico's files and a few updates

  9. Thanks for the information. I have a Centauri Carbon so the print bed is decently sized (cant do a helmet in a single section but close). Its also advertised as being able to print both those filaments but I was considering doing ASA as from what I have read it seems to be more heat/UV resistant. Is there a reason to do ABS or PETG over it? Although I also have access to Carbon fiber reinforced PLA if that is good as well.

  10. Hi Dimitris, Congratulations for your approval and welcome to the FISD. You have done a great job with your thighs adjustment sir. As you pointed, for higher levels it would be necessary to seal the seam lines with ABS paste and sand it.
