  1. Hello Everyone! Recently, I saw someone trooping and I immediately became a huge fan. I told myself I had to make my own suit. I downloaded the most popular stormtrooper armor in stl format from Thingiverse and starting 3d printing. Soon after, I find out about this amazing group and other trooper organizations and now I would love to be part of that! However, now I'm trepidatious that my costume may not be accepted. It certainly isn't screen accurate, but it is kinda close though. Am I freaking out for no reason? I'm still reading and looking up how to join the nearest troop / garrison and how to connect with someone who can guide me on my costume. I have almost half of the suit printed before I stopped, so that I could find out. I have to be honest and say that I do feel a bit overwhelmed on where to even start. So far, I think I need to do this: Step 1 - make an account here (check) Step 2 - find out the garrison nearest me and find out how to join (Since I'm in Northeast Tennessee, I believe it's Midsouth Garrison in TN) Step 3 - request to join, fill out application, etc. and ask someone there to give me feedback and help with my costume Step 4 - finish making my costume Step 5 - Submit it for my local garrison approval, then submit it for 501st approval. Step 6 - join garrison activities to do good in my community and, hopefully, have fun along this journey, without ending up in a mental hospital or going bankrupt in the process. Is this correct? Did I miss anything? Thoughts, comments, suggestions? Thanks so much!

  2. Hello, my name is Marcel and I am a 47 year old guy from Berlin … Germany. Return of the Jedi was my first movie when I was 7 years old. 40 years later I finally fulfilled my dream and I am on the way … becoming a Stormtrooper … yayyy. I am very excited to be part of this great community. I am still working on the details of my RS Propmasters Stormtrooper Stunt Pro Built Suit (ANH) and will be submitting my 501st Legion Member Application next Saturday. And I am really looking forward to meet some great people along the way.

  3. Hello everyone! My name is Derek and I am a member of the Florida Garrison, Squad 7. I have been a 501st member since December 2020 but I recently was approved for the ESB Stormtrooper. This is my first TK approval and I am so excited to troop as one of my all time favorite characters. I look forward to being a member of the FISD and hopefully I'll see you guys out there.

  4. I’m not sure if I’m posting this on the correct thread, and if I’m not, I’m sorry!! First ”full” test fit wasn’t too shabby - it was worthy of a happy dance I’m actually having a lot of fun with this. I’m wearing the Anovos belt since the replacement hasn’t yet arrived. I ordered the canvas belt off of trooperbay and should arrive this week. Thinking of replacing the holster as well for an all black one (if allowed?). My other one is the exact same, except all black. I am also on this next wave for keeptrooping - my boots will be in soon. I purchased Aker 1506 + Troopertalk APP (yet to play around and figure out the settings) - I have found some helpful stuff on it on here and will try soon.

  5. From what I've seen most if not all new era use 2 thigh straps and both are on the side of the thighs, both straps also have fabric covers so the pattern of the straps isn't seen. Was discussed in the Remnant thread and there should be an update made to the RO CRL text Disregard the green box, was used for another reference but shows two straps, both are have covers. You can see 2 in this shot also As for the position of the rear cover strips I did a lot of research on these, they are glued on the outer of shins and thighs and their position does not change, although the thighs can look offset depending on how far open the thighs are, depending on wearer.

  6. Well. The magnets, clamps, helmet bag, and straps and snaps i ordered have all shown up. I guess all that is left is to start building... Got a few events to attend tomorrow and this weekend. And a zoom meeting tonight. So take a few days next week to recover after it all. And then hopefully get cracking on this project!

  7. Found an ebay Anovos TFA lid, waiting for either Gio to get back with me from Crow props for boots and gloves or I'll just getting Keep Trooping when run orders Still painting away the cracks in the fiberglass from 6 years of use are real, having to fill with a bonder sand like crazy that repaint. Got tip to just remove clear coat and that seems to be working well and the Behr paint is sticking well with no issues. Bright and shinny and I match the other red troopers in my area. Hope to have rest of painting done this weekend, than need to restrap everything as elastic was quite worn out and few other items on my rigging were needing attention even if I kept it white. Hoping this side project helps me get motivated back to finish my DN project

  12. Overall gaps are looking pretty good, albeit I would bring your forearms up a little, they appears to be just touching the handplates and you have a big gap at the inner elbows.

  13. First troop as a TK at a Make a Wish event with the Air National Guard 142nd. Armor held up pretty well despite having to climb into and out of a pickup truck twice (with the help of three other people)! Since I needed a blaster, I decided to try to finish an ESB promo pipe build that @MoSc0ut had very kindly printed the parts for and started for me back in 2020. I set myself the goal of finishing it to a troopable level in 48 hours (including paint dry time) which for my usual pace is unheard of… Monday: Pieces Bending and installing the printed t-tracks (ignore the bottle of umeshu in the back - this was a sober build). Assembly/filler primer on some bits + a few hours of researching placement for everything Tuesday: Pre painting Wednesday: Final pre troop (temp approved by our GML for one troop only!) (Ignore pup in the BG) Post mortem: For the short timespan it came together pretty well. Unfortunately I ran out of satin black and the closest thing I could get at short notice was semi-gloss, so the finish is way too shiny. Aside from a repaint/clearcoat, some printed bits need more glazing putty and filler primer, especially t-tracks and stock. The scope rail should be filled in as well. A few bits just need more sanding, but no more than a couple evenings worth of work at most. And as @justjoseph63 will know, I’m already looking towards my next ESB build with an original stock At the troop:
