Hey all.. First, apologies for my unexpected leave of absence. In addition to a couple of health items that needed to be sorted out and my internet going down for a time I am back. I have lots of catching up to do, so please bear with me! (I really did miss you all)! I'm now ready for service and anxious to dive into the deep end to keep this party going!12 points

Hi Chemi Please find below the photos that I believe you require. Did my best with the painting but I'm not used to that kind of thing. I've been accused of being a lot of things, but being good at something requiring fine detailing has never been among them. I'm more of a sledgehammer type of guy. Please let me know if there is anything else that I need to sort out, or any other photos that you need. Have an awesome weekend.2 points

Meme Batting Averages Part 2: The Wolfpack @revlimiter you need a baseball jersey to go with your hockey jersey. Also your meme batting average has risen significantly since last time! @TIEKnitter2 points

My name is Vinny, I am 35. I was gifted a anovos (stunt) storm trooper kit! I have been putting off building this kit for some time due to the fear of failing at it. At this point all of my pieces are cut out of the sheets with tin snips. All the pieces do need sanding work. I am just looking for some direction or guidance on my next step now that my armor is separated. If there was an armor party in NY/CT I would happily attend. Any direction is appreciated. New LFL Backdrop Images I'm not sure how many of you would have seen the backdrop thread over on the 501st forum, these have been available to legion approved members since 2012 https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=67849 but images had been a little outdated. I had a conversation with Pete from LFL in 2020 as to any new images which may be available, he said he would talk to Disney Legal as to when we may see some new era images, well after pestering Pete again yesterday he sent me this info: Hi Glen -- yes, we do actually have some new imagery. I've attached the new list of thumbnails along with a request form. Fyi, Alex Vargas is the new Head of Fan Relations and will be handling these requests from now on (he's cc'd as [email protected]). Here are those images (click to enlarge) Any questions about purchasing or pricing of a backdrop please contact @Arcturus1020 via the legion forum https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=67849 If you order from James he does not have the images, you must request these from Lucasfilm and also give information for which event and charity you will be supporting. Charity Image Request Form: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xs2VQ56ed-usRVvJ49LB-Dd0IWycZSlV/view?usp=share_link and you can send the image request to: Alex Vargas Head of Fan Relations [email protected] FYI you can request images from LFL and have a backdrop made locally. Examples of what we had made by a local supplier, 2 fabric backdrop's with expanding frames, these are very light, easy to set up and a breeze to fold and pack, these are 4500mm wide x 3000mm high Frame Enjoy1 point

Hello Ernesto, welcome to FISD. That armor looks like an FX. The CRl indicates that at least the helmet is NOT approved for any level, that is, you would have to change it. And the FX armor requires quite a bit of work to make it passable for entry level. I am looking for information on the necessary changes and I add them here. You can see the different armors in the following link.1 point

Great work Glen! Any chance we could get hold of jpg files for some creations of banners or other things for the detachment? What do you think? I know this is regarding banners but the resource itself would be everything! Super hard finding official background images that we can use1 point

I have seen one of these kits in person. Overall it was well trimmed and decently put together, however; the two things that I think are the biggest drawbacks are the armor is not assembled based on the individual wearer size and body type and the second, some of the assembly methods would not hold up for trooping an event.1 point

Looks like I'll be taking the day off of work tomorrow seeing as how it will be BBB day and will need to be signed for. I'll just tell work it's a religious holiday or something.1 point

Snaps and straps today. Getting ready to strap the upper body. I've been using Tandy Leather Line Snaps (matte black line 20) and Line 20 Snap Setter. Learned quickly that I needed enough material between the two snap pieces so the center post wouldn't lean while I was setting it. Doubled the thickness of my nylon for that reason, and I'm using thinker scraps of armor when I use those. I also learned to be mindful of not applying J&B near the center of the snaps. If too much is used, it oozes up and interferes with the inside of the snap. After making the male and female snaps, I tested them all before applying them to the pieces of armor. I'll be working on the chest and back next. Need to get it test fitted and marked up, and then I'll be setting the snaps for the shoulder straps. The T shaped nylon (picture above) will attach the back and chest and the perpendicular strap will attach to the shoulder armor. I saw a few other builds like that and I'm going to do the same. Thank you to all those that did this before me.1 point
