  1. It's been a while and my skills with Blender got better and tinkered with the helmets again. Still a WIP.

  2. Greeting fellow FISD members! I am Rob (AKA Captain Ry' Kerr / TK 32420) from the Oklahoma Garrison, I've been a member for a lot longer than 1 year, actually. I signed up back in 2017, but forgot which password/email I used to create it, so I remade my account a little over a year ago, and have just been haning back in the shadows, watching and learning. After a few years of saving, reviewing and saving again... I've went with the RS Prop Masters ESB Stunt Full Commission, as well as begun to put together my ESB Imperial Staff Officer suit. So I went from having zero approvals, to hopefully having at least 2 Basic Approvals for the 501st! (And soon plan to get my TK to L3 over time) Anyways, I wanted to OFFICIALLY say hi, as I'll be joining the ranks soon! Just waiting on lovely FedEx to stop holding packages for weeks. I created a little backstory to my character in my "About Me" section of my profile, if anyone is interested. I hope to post entrance request photos soon for clearance! I look forward to possibly trooping with some of you fine Imperial folks in the future! This is an amazing community, and I've learned A LOT about TKs just reading in the shadows. I cannot thank you enough for the guidance I've recieved through posts on the site. Its been a HUGE help just seeing what's already here. The "SEARCH" feature (elusive to most New Members) has been an incredible tool! Haha. Again, thank you all, I look forward to more! For the Empire! -TK 32420

  3. First troop as a TK at a Make a Wish event with the Air National Guard 142nd. Armor held up pretty well despite having to climb into and out of a pickup truck twice (with the help of three other people)! Since I needed a blaster, I decided to try to finish an ESB promo pipe build that @MoSc0ut had very kindly printed the parts for and started for me back in 2020. I set myself the goal of finishing it to a troopable level in 48 hours (including paint dry time) which for my usual pace is unheard of… Monday: Pieces Bending and installing the printed t-tracks (ignore the bottle of umeshu in the back - this was a sober build). Assembly/filler primer on some bits + a few hours of researching placement for everything Tuesday: Pre painting Wednesday: Final pre troop (temp approved by our GML for one troop only!) (Ignore pup in the BG) Post mortem: For the short timespan it came together pretty well. Unfortunately I ran out of satin black and the closest thing I could get at short notice was semi-gloss, so the finish is way too shiny. Aside from a repaint/clearcoat, some printed bits need more glazing putty and filler primer, especially t-tracks and stock. The scope rail should be filled in as well. A few bits just need more sanding, but no more than a couple evenings worth of work at most. And as @justjoseph63 will know, I’m already looking towards my next ESB build with an original stock At the troop:

  7. I had used elastic straps to attach my shoulder bells to my shoulder straps. Over time (8 troops), the elastic lost is stretch and strated to fray: https://imgur.com/i4wQ2uN I replaced the elastic strap with a stronger, sturdier strap. Seemed to fit well in the test fit, and we'll see how well it works on my next troop.

  8. Went ahead and removed a lot of return edge from my forearms, bi-ceps, and shoulder bells. Hoping to give myself a little more room to slip on these pieces. https://imgur.com/KNaSnE9 https://imgur.com/XwHp0WJ https://imgur.com/EIGAW6F

  9. So, after another 6 troops, my shins 'blew out' again. It looked like the Velcro strips were just too thin to hold (not enough surface area contact). I added a strip on the inside portion of each shin, and added a new, wider, strip of Velcro to see if that will hold. Seems to work well but won't know for sure until my next troop in a few weeks. https://imgur.com/zAhcfK3 https://imgur.com/Yn3Zp1D

  10. If you can’t find sheet metal for the side box and aren’t picky about being tru to the movies, you can use good plastic sheets available at model stores. Maybe even clear acrylic sheets available at home improvement stores. I just finished my DLT and will be posting pics and video soon. Love the display mount

  11. Thank you sir, I greatly appreciate it! I've been watching your advice for a LONG time too. One of these days maybe I can learn even the stuff you've forgotten. Haha. Thanks for the welcome (back) my friend! I cannot wait to get going officially! Already have my first official troop planned for 3/12/22, if my GMLs are confident they can get me approved for Basic in time. =) (My GCO I'm sure will let it slide, even if its not "official" yet.)

  12. Thank you! I got bored one day and just started writing it. Haha, I wish I had the patience to write a full novel, I could probably come up with some decent stuff. However, I always get about 2 chapters in and scrap it. Star Wars is so fun, because it is so open, you can make nearly any character fit any nearly timeline if you research enough. =) Again, thank you for the kind words and welcome!
