  1. So, the three of us working on these kits together decided to buy the yoke/chest/back armor from Walt. After talking with our New England GML’s the BSP detonator is going to be fine. We aren’t replacing those. I also acquired a KB props yoke and back from a friend. I’m going to use this one to get the costume assembled while I wait for the WTF to arrive. I’m planning to get the legs and arms finished today and have the Velcro for my gaskets situated and then time to move on to my ab boxes and belt. I purchased a handful of nylon bolts and nuts that im using to attach all the various boxes on the armor. I’m using one of my needle files to cut the holes in the armor for the bolts and some 5 minute 2 part epoxy to hold the bolts to the boxes. 2 bolts for each left shin box 2, maybe 3 for the thigh holster. 1 each for ab boxes except the wide one gets 2. Lastly, a couple photos of more limbs with glue settling. You can see the holes for bolts on the left shin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. I'll definitely be adding the V tabs. I looked at some other photos taken and this issue shows up in all of them, some worse than others. I'm thinking for what I am seeing they will be best glued to the butt plate and left free on the top plate. I was a bit surprised how loose all of the strapping was on the sides of the armor. The belt does almost all of the work holding it together. Without the belt the gap is very large. Getting that tightened up will be easy. Thanks for the suggestions!

  3. Nice work, just to add to Mario's items, perhaps add tighter elastic on your sides ab/kidney as they are coming apart a little, this is more for higher levels you may be fine for basic. From the CRL for L3 ldeally there is no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. Also note the drop box is not quite aligned with the end of the plastic belt in this image, this is for higher level clearance. Just check the corners of your plastic belt, they should meet the edges of the fabric belt, for higher level clearance, bit hard to tell from the images. The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. One other thing your butt plate is being pushed backwards and is overlapping the kidney plate, again perhaps tighter elastic or V tabs may help. With a heat gun , hot water bath or oven, you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate. Great work, looking forward to seeing you with a TKID soon, good luck

  4. I modeled and 3D printed a lightsaber based on Narsil from Lord of the Rings. The design is based on Jake Bartok’s (IG @jakebartok) artwork, and Tehran Props (IG @tethan_props_) adaptation of it, but I wanted one to use the Savi lightsaber chassis from Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge, so I designed one for myself. All the original features of the Savi lightsaber remain unchanged including interchangeable kyber crystals, sounds, and galaxy’s edge blades. Hope you enjoy it!

  5. Donostia, Capital of the 'Star Wars' Solidarity More than 300 characters from 'Star Wars' from Europe will parade on November 27 through La Concha and the Victoria Eugenia will host a concert on November 26. The legendary Albin Johnson will come to the events in tribute to the Blood Donors. It will be a special weekend in which Darth Vader and his family will 'work' on behalf of blood donors. "Solidarity will be the engine of the meeting, but all of Donostia and Gipuzkoa will enjoy a unique show, with a parade through La Concha of more than 300 people from all over Europe dressed as characters of the saga, and a unique concert at the Victoria Eugenia, with the Filarmonía orchestra of Madrid, in which a new anthem will be premiered", says Andoni Serrano, president of ThePinkForce Foundation. It promises to be a popular holiday, but getting here hasn't been easy. Andoni Serrano and his space hosts have been preparing "a unique event" for some time, but the pandemic has been complicating the process. Finally everything is finished so that that weekend of November 26 and 27 Donostia lives a peaceful and solitary invasion of Star Wars, headed by the American Albin Johnson, founder of the international solidarity organization 501st Legion and honorary president of the San Sebastian foundation, "a mythical character for us, who only travels to the big appointments", Serrano adds. Return to the premiere theater The space weekend starts on Friday, November 26 in the afternoon with the concert at the Victoria Eugenia of the Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir of Madrid, directed by Pascual Osa. "We don't forget that in that same theater 'Star Wars' premiered at the 1977 Film Festival," says Serrano. "It is a place full of magic for those of us who are followers of this world, and that concert, full of winks to the saga, will also serve to premiere 'The Pink Side Of de Force', composed by Álvaro Iglesias and Alberto González and adapted by Pascual Osa himself. " It will be a historic moment for the world fans of 'Star Wars' to premiere it at the Victoria Eugenia theater and in the presence of Albin Johson, who will give his only talk in Spain at the end of the concert." Image of a similar parade in Salamanca. In Donostia you will go from Miramar to the City Hall. The most spectacular and popular moment will be on Saturday, November 27, at five in the afternoon, with the great solidarity march of characters from the popular film series. The tour is of the Miramar Palace, which those days will be the 'headquarters' of the event, and the City Hall. "We expect about 300 characters from Italy, France or Switzerland, in addition to Spain, and a representation of the people benefited by the donations will also participate in the parade. We do all this with the Association of Blood Donors of Gipuzkoa, which celebrated 55 years of history last year, and we want to make visible some of those who benefit from solidarity donation, so there will be people from the Association against Cancer, Aspanogi or Alcer, among other entities. " More than 20,000 spectators The organizers of the event in San Sebastian estimate that the parade will attract about 20,000 spectators. "This is what has happened in other cities, such as Seville or Malaga, which have hosted similar events." The march will end in the terreza of the City Council, "place where we will pay tribute to all those who have accompanied Blood Donors in their history, symbolized in the oldest donor and in the youngest". And for the fans, a unique moment: the participants in the march, dressed in their costumes, will be made available to citizens to take photos on the terrace of the Town Hall. The 501st Legion at the Victoria Eugenia on a visit in December 2019. Andoni Serrano highlights the support that the City Council of San Sebastian, Donostia Turismo, Basque Tour and other institutions such as the Provincial Council are giving to the events. The so-called Legion 501, promoter of these activities, was born "with the purpose of manifesting the passion for Star Wars, and took advantage of this potential to help in solidarity causes, usually focused on the little ones. Currently, at Spanish Garrison we are more than 800 members in Spain and almost 15,000 in the world." More details will be known soon, but Andoni Serrano and those responsible for Blood Donors are already happy to officially announce that everything will be ready. What if it rains on the day of the parade? "There are suits that cannot get wet, but many others can, and the experience of other cities is that the 'imperial soldiers' fight against all odds," Serrano concludes with a smile. 8. You are on a very good start, just get those fixed and you will be good to go. It will be a waste if you don't apply for higher level clearance after basic approval. Good luck!

  11. I could probably tweak the armor for another month, but it feels pretty good and solid. It was time for basic approval pix before I could put it off any longer. To do: - magnet boxes on one side of the torso - something to align the other side slightly nicer - finish weathering the blaster - mobility cuts in the legs

  12. I started a new hobby outside of my model making, it still involves my Star Wars models, but I photoshop them into various scenarios, sort of a “What If?” similar to the Marvel series. Check out @starwars_multiverse on Instagram for more of my edits! I may work on creating some scenes with my stormtrooper armor on, but the set up, staging, and lighting is pretty complicated doing it on my own.

  13. Thanks for all the responses. I've been busy on a few projects. Aside from waiting for my BBB and finishing up a couple lightsabers... lots of helmet research. Seems that's the part I want to make sure is comfortable for what's to come. Here's what I've been looking at: Padding - I've been looking at the system TS (Trooper Stuff) has been putting together. Looks awesome: https://www.facebook.com/TrooperStuff/ Fans - Probably the Troopercoola system iComm system - Looks like this system from Ukswraith is the way to go: https://www.etsy.com/listing/525718278/stormtrooper-audio-system-wvoice?ref=user_profile&frs=1 EAS system: I'm told a hearing assist system is a must: https://www.etsy.com/listing/684966364/hearing-assist-speakers?ref=shop_home_recs_10&crt=1 need an ipod for trooper talk - Just picked up a shuffle for this Power Bank - I keep reading to get an Anker power bank. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking forward to next steps. Looks like 2022 before I'm able to submit and meet up with some of the Mountain Garrison!
