17 down 7 to go Bit of a jump from last time. What's that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane?4 points

Once again, it took me a while because my strapping is taking most of my time, but there are a few other things that I did as well. I cut my sniper plate once more, this time to make the sides that angular cut instead of the one I had made before, because it seemed more accurate and better looking to me. Probably not quite noticeable, I cut out a mouth part of the lens because if it were to slide down a bit, it could be noticeable in the frown. Then I reworked my helmet padding, using the one that RS supplied in a way that they probably did not intend me to use it. There's still an empty space at the top, because I want to try out several thicknesses of padding once I wear my armor to figure out what looks and feels best. And I hand-countersank the ear screws (a vast improvement looks-wise). Please ignore the pencil line, I hope to get rid of all of them soon enough. In (probably) one or two days I should have finished my new strapping, so I can share pictures of that and hopefully even of me in the whole armor, so that you can give me advice regarding the fit and where I need to improve things.2 points

I'd heard that it was possible to wear it around your neck, but hadn't seen any pics. Thanks Dan. I've already ordered mine with the remote switches (doh), but kinda have an idea how I'll use it. Was thinking of having some TK chatter where you can't make out whats being said. A few different different versions, so its not obvious I'm just playing the same thing everytime. If I need to move on from someone that's being really chatty I could play it and pretend I'm being ordered to somewhere else. Other thing I was thinking was to have various craft sounds (tie fighter, millennium falcon, speeder bike, etc) play it and look around and say stuff like, oh, you just missed it. This may not work out of course, and as the others have said I may never use it. 'All the gear and no idea' maybe2 points

Cool will do. I remember he said in one video that the new v5 software could do more stuff, but like I said, terrible memory! Will post here what he says for everyone's benefit1 point

If you do select to have chatter on you will not get the static bursts when you speak. Easy fix is to disable chatter and have a loop running via a cheap mp3 player plugged into the aux socket on the amp running the chatter. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk1 point

I’m comfortable doing an accent so that part doesn’t bother me too much. I agree with Dan in the sense that if you’re confident enough to master the voice and learn the quotes, I think it makes for more tailored interactions. I’m sure the preloaded clips will still have their place on certain troops though. Thanks for the suggestions on this. I’ll probably go with the standard remote option. I think this will serve the purposes I’ll be using it for. Sent from The Empire1 point

Yeah I'm seeing what you mean, I can drop the teeth back maybe another Mil as there's already a distance there. Maybe the chamfer is making it look a lot smaller too, will play around with that. Yeah I agree, the brow does make a big difference! I forgot to add the shell modifier so thats why the teeth look so thin, it's currently got 0 thickness. Will post up some pics tomorrow. Sleep time I thinks. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk1 point

Hi Tim, I’d certainly avoid trying to put it in your helmet. They are very loud and I’m pretty sure you’d do some damage to your hearing. Personally, I put mine around my neck and it sits behind the chest plate. To me, this is ideal. I bought my TRamp and went with the remote. Thing is, apart from playing around with it when I opened the box, I’ve never used it. Not once. Reason being, the loops and samples can be very restrictive on a troop. If a child asks you a question, answering with a sample Is unlikely to make sense. For me, I try to act the character and interact with people on a case by case basis. Here’s my thoughts on voice acting and using tramp; Here, you’ll see me kitting up and wearing the tramp unit around my neck; Hope this helps. :-)1 point

Hi Chris, Had some time to do some side by sides. Here’s my feedback. :-) Basis side by side; Brow line; Whilst the rubber trim plays a small part here, the actual “cap” has a slight rise when it passes the ear cap. The line runs from the back to the front, then takes a slight upward angle beyond the ear. Also, from your left side image, the line from the rear of the helmet doesn’t carry on to the brow - it seems to be offset. Ear caps: They appear to be quite a bit thicker than the originals. The grey rectangular part on the left ear appears to be at the wrong angle. (See bottom right image). Also note the screws/ear caps usually line up with the rear line of the trap. It looks like the rear “tube” is not quite as curved as the originals. Note the flow of the original tubes from front to back. The below difference might be purely down to the ear thickness and alignment. Hope that helps. :-)1 point

Correct, start will more then work your way down. If you add a step to the top of the ear they will sit better too: Great tutorial here1 point

Thank you so much! 2 years ago when I decided to start making an armor kit and join the 501st I heard of the Centurion program. This became my goal- to build a costume that met the exacting accuracy requirements. To become one of the elite who pursued the refinement of the armor to the highest standard. My decision to join the 501st came not only from my love of Star Wars but of my love of movies as well. Props and costumes are a way of bringing the fantasy and imagination of film to you, to exist in our reality and be able to be seen- in real life and in arms reach. The ability of a prop or costume to connect to a film I love is a tremendous feeling for me personally, and to see people react to us while we troop is amazing. That sense of wonder, the lilttle bit of uncertainty about being so close to something they know can't be real- yet there it is! Right on front of me! That's Darth Vader! Oh look R2 D2! Not only I heard these exclamatians I have made them as well. Even during my first troop at Pensacon 2021 I was in my armor going "Ooh! Biker scout!". To me the strength of the illusion we provide wth our costumes is strongest when the accuracy and craftsmanship is there in our build. So that has always been my goal from day one of my path here at FISD and the 501st. And although this isn't the costume I started this path with (I'm stil working on it!), I am finally here. I am extremely proud to join the ranks of Centurion and I hope all of my builds inspire fans and my fellow troopers to take it as far as they can.1 point
