  1. Hello! After months of lurking around without an account, just absorbing all the information that I could find about Stormtroopers and building the armor, I've finally decided to get an account to unlock those last hidden posts. A bit of info about myself? Well, I just turned 18, but have wanted to join the 501st as a Stormtrooper ever since I was twelve. I'm from Germany. Currently I'm working on the finishing touches for my Stormtrooper armor (it's still missing some paint and I definitely need to rework the strapping for more comfort), waiting on the last soft parts to finally arrive and just started working on the helmet. I look forward to finishing the armor and joining all of you properly in the 501st!

  3. It is finally time. My daughter is 6 and the right size to redo her trooper armor from when she was 3. I originally got on of those 48" trooper toys and used it to make her armor. Had to downsize a ton of it and it didn't really fit all that well since she was too small. Now she's finally big enough and asked to be Captain Phasma for Halloween. Here is where I finished 3 years ago. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

  4. Thanks, Glen. Yeah I've been reading as many threads and posts as I can all day. These will definitely help.

  5. Mile High Trooper reporting in. I'm Stephen and I'm a Mountain Garrison trooper out of Denver. I have been looking forward to this day for a while. Like many of us, Star Wars has been in my life for a long time. I cried when I went to Disney World and saw the Millennium Falcon in person. I was aware of the 501st for a while but only recently decided to pull the trigger and order my own set of armor. Got this from AP and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to go on my first troop and hope I don't pass out from the heat. The knowledge and skills of everyone here are impressive, most impressive, and I can't wait to learn from you all.

  7. Ok. I'm back. LOL. Since I was out "cheating" on the FISD, I got two other costumes approved and will be submitting a third next week. Unfortunately, as I said in the Artillery Stormtrooper forum a couple minutes ago, I'm packing up the printers for the time being and will not be able to finish the fourth costume I intended on knocking out before returning to my "home detachment." Candidly, I'm getting ready to pick up my family and move into a little apartment for a few months while we wait for our new house to get built. So, while my Shoretrooper is now on hold, I get to return to my priority build. Yeah, I know. I use the word "priority" loosely, but with the creation of the new Remnant/ Anthology forum, I've decided to move this build thread to it's new home. This is definitely back to being my priority build. So, with that said, let me throw up the first couple pictures that indicate my desire to create a Remnant TK: LOL! Whoa! I've read about asymmetrical OT helmets a thousand times, but nothing prepared me for this. I even had to reach out to @TheRascalKing to make sure I didn't receive a dud. LOL. Regardless, I love it. Ok. So with all that said, I'm going to continue this build as if it were a ROTK, but when I get towards the end, there's definitely going to be some modifications. Also, though I'd love to finish this quickly, building TKs in an apartment might slow down progress, but we'll see. Anyways, thanks again for viewing.

  8. My recent task has been to finish up my belt. After modifying my canvas belt to size, I got to start on the drop boxes. I followed several methods I've seen here, of making my elastic bands and using the hole to mark the drill spot on the drop boxes. And then to make them line up more easily with the edge of the ABS, I cut out a portion of the elastic, and soldered off its edges to keep from fraying. The final step will be to dabble some glue on the inside of the elastic so the boxes don't move away too much from their spot. Add in the holster now... And it's done! I've ordered some clips to use with the thermal detonator, so once that's finished it'll round out the belt.

  10. Hi Alex. The "rank (black) stripe" is optional at Basic and Level 2, but is required at Level 3 and may only have one.

  11. Added some additional strapping inside, I think it is helping quite a bit: after new elastic added inside:

  12. Darn! The width is just the angle in the picture but you are correct on the strip, it is not central I will remove and re position them. Thanks for the heads up. As for the butt plate I will only clean up that top area and leave a good amount. It may also be worth noting I plan to use the double snap method which not sure if that well help protect from cracking a little more than the brackets. Thanks, M

  15. Thermal Detonator: Speaking of the TD, I failed to provide details on how I created the hangers. As previously noted, I plan to make some changes to improve the fit and prevent movement but needed to see how everything fits before making final adjustments. The hangers are ABS strips, bent with a heat gun.
