If you have a pair of tin-snips, I have a spare piece (2.5 x 8) of brand new green lens material (still has the protective plastic on both sides) that you can have for free... I'll even pay postage. All you have to do is cut it to shape. PM me if interested!2 points

Sorry for being a month late, I was kinda procrastinating on uploading it. It was pretty fun walking around, everyone wanted pictures . I tried staying in character as often as possible, and even stopped a car and asked if they had seen a golden protocol droid and a blue astromech I did learn a few things about the suit: It wasn't as uncomfortable as i thought it would be. maybe cause it's foam and not plastic like all of your guys' armor. It's HOT. when I was walking inside I was boiling, however it was a breezy day outside, so i was fine while outside. after a few hours out there walking around, I was pooped. luckily I'm made of squishy flexible foam, so I could sit down (sorta) and take a rest. I was a bit sore the next day. Its annoyingly loud. the plastidip coated surfaces rubbing together as I walked made a loud squeaky sound, and it sounds very dumb. we all know stormtroopers make a "clack clack clack" not a"squeak squeak squeak" when they walk I'm thinking of painting the suit with plain old gloss white spray paint to reduce the squeaks and make the texture less rubbery. every now and then one of the shins would ride up on the boots and there would be a gap above the boots and the shin would be all twisted. so I might put some velcro on the boot and inside of the shin to remedy this. I also noticed That some plastidip on the caulk seams on the chest started peeling. I'm not too worried about it, I'll probably just clean that up before re painting with the gloss white spray paint. I'm also contemplating making a new foam helmet or finishing that paper/pepakura one just for the heck of it, but I'm not sure yet. Do y'all think I should? If so, which option seems ideal?1 point

Ideally the notch should align with the bottom ridge, I would match your bottoms notches to the armor and trim the top to suit References A great build for those of short stature1 point

I know the F1 racking use a film over their lenses which they can remove. I have a few scratches on my lenses over the years but if you are careful cleaning you should be ok.1 point

Nice work so far, just make sure you don't have any weathering on the T tracks or handle/grip as these were black plastic and would not have any metal weathering. Looking forward to seeing your kitted up photos.1 point

I just received my gloves from Ender Finders, didn't even check the CRL, which shows the classic rubber ones - I know LIII are these , but I was surprised about the rubber gloves. I also started to sand and putty the back pack pieces, slowly though!1 point

Looking great. I've never had any luck polishing the green lens material, as you mentioned it just blurs them. If you can't remedy the problem you can pick up replacements relatively cheap on Trooperbay.com1 point

To answer your question, yes, the calves just sit on the tops of the boots.. no strapping involved. What you have now is looking GREAT. The only thing left to do is even out/contour the fronts so that there are no points and you are golden. Nice work, Matt! Perfect!1 point

Even for a few minutes, helmet fan is life. Had to get my fans in - I got some mounts and finally decided the best place was to utilize the speaker nut and screws from @ukswrath's TK speakers. Decently sturdy, hopefully I don't get any structural integrity problems at HOVIs from burdening the battery. Since I'm here, might as well post the progress of the helmet. Any one know of a good way to polish the lenses? I made the mistake of even trying; now one's slightly blurrier than the other. Car detailing polish of 4500 grit isn't cutting it (see what I did there?).1 point

Also make sure you follow the CRL's (costume reference library) base standards for 501st legion approval https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Here is a datasheet showing the differences between the versions https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view Also when adding images from imgur try using the "direct link" as your image with then show, an info thread here1 point

One thing I would suggest is that you use a rear cover strip on the insides of the fronts, Matt. The reason being is because that seam gets a lot of wear and tear from being bent repeatedly when opening up the rear seam to put them on. It doesn't have to look good (no one sees it anyway) and it will reinforce the front cover strips.1 point

Hey Matt, as far as the top not lining up, after you get the front cover strips on you could give it another look. If it isn't lining up in the back when you wear it then maybe a hot water bath to reshape it a little might help. The backs will be concealed by your cover strip. The cover strip should be the only piece that overlaps anything. The ones pictured may be closing up on themselves but once you stick a leg in there will probably butt together.1 point

fitting, taping, assembling, and cover stripping the biceps and forearms... ...still have some finishing touches left, but just about ready to strap these together with the shoulder bells1 point

Just a sneak preview of my armor. There is still a little work to be done. Like cutting the sides of the barrel and finishing my accurate helmet. Yeah, I forgot the boots Any thoughts and tipps?1 point
