Hi troopers, I recently recorded a little video talking about OT TK coverstrips and approximately how long they should be in comparison to the armour / armor. Of course, this is just my opinion and, as always, each suit in ANH/ESB was hand made so there will be variations. However, my thoughts are supported by reference photos. Hope this is helpful. :-) Dan / CableGuy4 points

Rustoleum isn't forgiving and is a weird paint to use, when you try to get a nice gloss finish you end up with runs, hence why I prefer automotive acrylic, dries quicker and you can load up on paint to get a nice gloss finish. But in saying that you are going well, some pinholes yes but are they going to be noticed in the end if you aren't looking for them1 point

Before... And after! I used up over a whole can!! I think I covered it all from every angle. The backbox was super difficult! No cracks! Two small runs, but shouldn't require touching up. There were a few pinholes, but I used my toothpick technique again (sprayed down a puddle of paint, ran a toothpick through it, then dotted the pinhole) and it fixed them. One on the chest might require evening out... At one point, I noticed a bunch of dust debris on the chest!? It was already white, so I stopped spraying that area. Hopefully I can wipe it off with a rag later... There were also a bunch of pinholes on the chest that somehow didn't get putty! Hopefully they aren't too noticeable from a distance, I'm not looking forward to touching it up. There were also a lot of pinholes around the oval... I don't know what happened there, but maybe I sanded too much. Looking at my before pic, there was no primer or putty in those areas... At least the oval seems filled and level! So happy! Tomorrow I plan on trimming the barrel and fixing the notches on the belt!1 point

I will just add from time to time you may see [APPROVED] on some EIB applications this is due to it being an additional EIB award which are not issued numbers, (you only get one EIB number awarded) normally you would see [APPROVED] with a 2nd or 3rd or 4th or so on in the title depending on the amount of additional awards the member has.1 point

March to 1000 update and announcement. We are steadily approaching the big number, and actually even closer than any of us had realised. In a process of due diligence gmrhodes13 (Glen) spent many hours starting from EI approval 1, yep ground zero checking all the approved numbers. Well to his surprise he actually found two members that had been approved and not issued an approval number. The DO's, Glen and myself have been in discussion and done extra checks to verify Glens findings and he is absolutely correct. The two members who had been simply labeled as Approved, will now be given the next 2 numbers of approval taking us that little bit closer to 1000. Mark "humperdingle" TK22700 originally approved September 13th 2016. Approved (985) Daphne "Athenall" TK62317 originally approved October 7th 2016. Approved (986) We are officially now at 14 to go!1 point

You know after all this research I may have to build one of these version myself1 point

That's a VERY GOOD point! And that's why you're in charge lol! I'll definitely try those pieces together tomorrow to confirm, but I think I've given myself enough overlap that the barrel can move down 2-3" and still be covered around the top. Although, dropping it that much might restrict movement and possibly prevent sitting...1 point

Well my journey with Anovos has come to an end and I will continue to follow this thread and wish you all the best outcome. Let’s just say we have reached an agreement that was satisfactory to both parties involved and that is all I am permitted to say on the matter.1 point

Jumpsuits are a great way in, but I'm pretty sure the CHEAPEST costume there is would be a Jawa (provided you have the talent to make it).1 point

So what you are saying is essentially there is no such thing as a "New FX" it's just a recast - poorly constructed ANH helmet... I didn't find what you were talking about, but this image was from the first page of this thread. Is this the one? -----------1 point
