  1. Going out of the first few times sucks. Everything needs adjustments. Was this kit put together by you and for you?
  2. As the title says, I have a TE HDPE Stormtrooper helmet. I got it back in 2008 or so (can't remember). I originally used some sort of Krylon enamel spray, over the years it all easily flaked and chipped off. I'm talking any sort of handling would easily crack the paint. You couldn't even touch it without the paint cracking. I was able to remove all of the paint, so that I can paint it again. However, I don't want to waste my time and money on a paint that will flake and chip off again. Is there such a product? Is there some way to paint it so that it lasts with no cracks or chips? I don't want 100% accuracy (meaning, I don't want chips. I want it all white). Keep in mind, I live in Europe, so please don't tell me "Go to Home Depot and buy some random US brand" If you live in Europe, I'd love to see products that I could buy on Amazon - that would help a lot!
  3. My Dellow Felagates! It's a toss up between ANH and ESB. Then VI, III, II ...and way off in the far distance.... I There are parts of I that I can appreciate...but most (about 90%) of it is rubbish. Someone told me that Star Wars plus NASCAR = Awesome....He was serious too... I think part of my soul died alittle after hearing that.
  4. My attempt so far (well back at CIV): -------- -------- I'm actually working on it now. It's all ready for paint. I fixed the sty and obtained some hero ears from WeiBes. I'm going to paint the whole thing because the ears are styrene and the rest of the helmet is ABS - so the colors don't match at all. I'll get some better photos once I finish it. I've done a few mods to the suit since then too - Because I lost about 35 lbs since that photo.
  5. Another concern is with the tempreture that cold - most anything that is glued together will probably break apart. I put my helmet in the freezer so I could take my lenses out and take my screen of. It was glued down with hot glue though. You could always try a wet suit underneath... With all that said, I wouldn't suggest trooping in that cold of weather. Too many risks (to your armor and yourself).
  6. My wife is the best when it comes to my Star Wars addiction. For christmas, just about everything she got me was Star Wars related. I got an HDPE TE2 helmet, a custom Luke ANH (replica graflex with luxeon and sound) lightsaber and a Gentle Giant Jango bust.
  7. Ok, He will ship to you (overseas) if you are a 501st member only. I just sent him an e-mail and got a reply within only a few minutes!
  8. Hey John - never got a PM from you.
  9. The decision is really all yours. There is too much money involved for me to feel comfortable to tell someone whcih armor to buy. Just continue doing your research and make a descion on what you feel will work for you. As for driving in armor... Wow! I look totally drunk in that last picture! I actually only drove a little over a mile, but I would not recommend it. It was very hard to do and in hindsight very dangerous. I didn't have my bucket on while driving either. OK, disclaimer over! Shhhhh! Don't tell James3 that I am posting those from his photobucket!
  10. Trooperdecals will not longer ship internationally, unless you are a 501st member....if I am understanding his site correctly. It's kind of confusing (granted my reading comprehension is that of a 5th grader) Does anyone have his contact info? I would like to order some ESB decals from him, but I have no way to see if he will ship to me or not.
  11. Sitting isn't the most comfortable task, sitting in a car is sometimes impossible. I wouldn't worry too much about it breaking though. ABS is pretty strong. AP is made out of ABS and I believe TM is going to start making his kits out of ABS.
  12. I made that mistake too. It's not suppose to fit in the indention... check out the 3rd post: ---------
  13. Yeah, That's pretty normal with the FX. I never even finished mine (until a year and a half later for a charity auction(, I just bought a more accurate one instead. There was no way that FX was going to fit me.
  14. Once she saw how "normal" everyone was - she wanted to join too. (by normal, I mean not fat nerds who have no social life and live in their mom's basement). I used to ask before I could buy something, now I just order it and hope she doesn't say anything! Plus I'm working on her Zam cosutme - which cost more than my TK!
