  1. Hi all, Thanks to an early birthday present from my wife, my next build is a TM Stunt kit. It arrived beautifully packaged and is a really nice mold. As per the video, I’m very impressed with the detail. I’ll be starting the build soon and am thoroughly looking forward to this one. As I love the look of a fully spray painted helmet (just like the originals), I’m planning to fully spray this one, also. More to come. :-)

  2. Project: Shocking update. Most of the armour is complete, just needs some fine tuning and adjustments to some of the return edges etc. What's left - make the belt, trim the hand guards, build TD and TD clips, complete strapping system, buy some boots and dirty it up. 3. Early Thanksgiving greetings fellow troopers, sorry to fall of the map for a few weeks but life intervened. I bolo'ed the first TD, but I acquired a second kit. It's assembled below, nothing is attached or glued permanently, but if possible I'd like a readout on the positioning. The clips are aligned with the end caps, I *think* that addresses the lack of gap comment from a few weeks ago. The length is perfectly 7.5". The plat "sits" on the tops of the clips as per suggestions. If the positioning is good, I will deburr one more time with fine sandpaper and start attaching stuff. Happy Thanksgiving all, and thanks for the space to work on this at my own pace - sometimes I troop with my other costumes when I should be working on this, it's just too much fun!

  4. So we had one of those guys that hits neighborhoods this week come through and try to paint house numbers on the curbs. Ours was looking pretty faded and my wife was interested in having it done. Hold the phone! I am self admitted cheap so I said I’ll do it myself. Now the guy did good work and it was pretty cool. Here’s our neighbors. So not to be outdone I got to thinking.... and found an image on google and a StarWars font and made a template. And ultimately had to represent my fellow TK’s.

  5. Looking like a great build. After the minor updates that have been indicated, there should be no issue for approval. Good Luck and welcome to the ranks.

  7. I was just recreating the cover to the user handbook for the Sterling and I thought this would be fun! I am not finished yet. As you can see the sterling needs scope, t-tracks and so forth. But I though y'all would like to see it.

  10. I have removed the old mesh and added new mesh that has a wider spacing as per request. Let me know if there is anything else required to complete application.

  11. Before gluing the sniper knee on, remember that those holes will need to be filled with a dab of ABS paste. Better (and easier) to do this before attaching it. When filling them, place a piece of painter's tape behind them first. Otherwise, the paste will drip right through the hole. Hint: Only use a DROP of the paste... just enough to fill the hole(s). Saves you a lot of time when it comes to sanding them down level. After sanding, a few minutes with some scratch remover and a quick polish and you are golden.

  14. A couple days ago I received my Basic 501st approval! A great big thanks to all who've helped me out thus far! When I started on this endeavor I felt like I was trying to swim solo across the ocean. Everyone of you has had a positive influence on the process. A few of you seemed to be checking in often to offer loads of great advice. gmrhodes13 you've provided excellent feedback and the most impressive insights in locating things on the forums. ukswrath I followed your Anovos build and greatly appreciate the encouragement. Hopefully by following it I will make an easy transition to higher levels. Had it not been for your build thread I would still be working on this thing. TKSpartan thanks for pointing me directly to the things I needed to adjust and having the ability to highlight great posts with pictures when your words weren't doing it for me! Me like pictures! justjoseph63 the detailed critique was very helpful and timely to assist in getting myself prepped for approval. Now onto the blaster. I've got my resin doopydoo kit in hand, hit up T-Jay for the extra bits to make it better than a rubber duck and started reviewing the enormous wealth of info here. With any luck I'll be able to have a moment or two to work on it despite all the holiday, family, and work hub bub to be able to qualify EIB then Centurion in short order. TK41469 signing off!
