  2. ADVANCED TACTICS info. So what exactly are EI (Expert Infantry) and Centurion levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize. (You may surprise yourself with what you are capable of)! It also works on giving a better look to the Legion as an entity, and you can bet others will take notice of your hard work. The 501st has a list of detailed requirements for Basic approval, EIB (Level 2) and Centurion (Level 3) which can be found here in the Costume Reference Library, (CRL) http://databank.501s...tuming:FISD_CRL Here are a few of the questions people may be wondering about: 1. "I am a (tall/short/heavy/thin) trooper. Can I still apply? Of course! These programs are open and encouraged for all sizes of TKs, as long as the costume is correct and meets the guidelines. There are many specific build tutorials to every option, as well as a vast network of fellow TKs on the FISD to help you out and offer suggestions. 2. "How much extra will I have to pay for extra items"? The cost is actually quite reasonable, considering the few extra supplies you will need, which are listed in the requirements area. While it may run you a little more to implement these additions to your costume, they will go a long way to improving accuracy. All needed items can be found for sale on this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-orders/ Another thread which will be invaluable is Caleb's @MaskedVengeance, located here. While blasters are not required for Basic 501st approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL). 3. "I haven't even got my kit yet, is it too early to start planning"? Actually, aiming for Centurion is easiest to do right out of the box. 4. "I have my basic TK approval, can I still get in these programs"? In a word... absolutely! 5. "Are there any "perks" to this extra work and cost"? Besides knowing that you have a great looking set of armor, the 501st and FISD believes you should be deservedly recognized for your achievement(s), and allows you to wear the appropriate embroidered "rocker" badge of rank (when available) on your shirt, helmet bag, etc., as well as rank decals to put on your armor bin. You will also have access to select "challenge coin" runs, receive (free) a cool certificate for your new rank, and have your title posted below your name in your FISD signature. Plus, once you reach these levels, you will have the extra knowledge to help out those who are looking to apply as well. 6. "Is it hard to apply, and what happens then"? After Basic approval, all you do is make sure your armor is up to the standards set forth in the appropriate CRL, post a thread with the required photos in the appropriate area (see below), and wait a bit for the D.O.s (Deployment Officers) to address it. (Hint: Studying other people's threads before you submit can be a GREAT help). These are also listed on the main page of the FISD site. While waiting for approval, you will get some comments from others who will offer suggestions and constructive advice to help you out. If you should need any changes, the DOs will let you know, so you can adjust accordingly. Don't be dismayed if you do need changes... it's all for your benefit! After you are approved for EIB, then you can submit for Centurion. 7. "Can I achieve additional awards"? Yes and No, you can achieve extra awards at EIB for each additional version costume approved, this will be shown on the thread title as [APPROVED 2nd], [APPROVED 3rd] and so on and you will receive an extra star for each EIB approval on your profile. NOTE If you are approved with a second version of a particular costume you do not receive an additional certificate, there is only 1 issued for each costume version ie: only 1 Hero, 1 Stunt, 1 HWT, 1 ESB and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For Centurion the award program is a little different, you are only issued the Centurion award once no matter how many additional version costumes you have approved at that level. EIB - http://www.whitearmo...ntryman-status/ Centurion- http://www.whitearmo...nturion-status/ Note: You will see some suggestions in the existing submissions/approval requests by the D.O.s and other Troopers that, while not actually part of the CRL, are highly suggested items to enhance the accuracy of your armor. Note that the D.O Staff does not rely only on the CRL, but screen caps and official references as well. Those small details all add up to make your build look it's absolute best! Here is a thread that will answer a lot of your CRL questions: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/48335-quick-crl-reference-guide-for-your-ot-build-pics-notes-tips/ Just remember that the FISD is here to help you every step of the way with whatever other questions you may have, but if you can't seem to find what you are looking for in your research, just post the question, (or PM me if you like) and best of luck on your build!

  9. Hey Derek, Sorry for the delay in responding but your fellow trooper has hit the nail on the head with the paint going into the lip area. I will need to see this adjusted before we can get started. the easiest way to fix this is with some mineral spirits and a tooth pick. dip the toothpick and use it as an eraser of sorts but with a little effort you come out with the results shown in the reference image. As stated in the CRLs for Basic approval: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. reference images.

  13. Hi again Àngel and thank you for your EIB application. In this review I will ensure that your armor follows the requirements set out in the CRL L2 Expert Infantry Badge and also point out what I can to prepare you for Centurion, should you choose to apply. I hope you do! Let´s get started shall we! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Stunt Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions As we navigate through this review we are going to start from the top and work our way down. We start with the TD and as seen in the reference photo it should sit lower on the belt so just a heads up to push it down when suiting up. If possible we suggest you raise the thighs or lower the torso in order to try and reduce the amount of black showing. Moving on to the sniper knee, some light trimming and you´ll look the part for Lord Vaders inspections. Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Below you will find areas that will need to be adressed for a future succesfull Centurion Application. Starting with the helmet and the ear bars it´s a really easy fix by adding some more paint. Next up we have the frown and we see that you trimmed a bit to much so we need you to make a batch of abs paste and fill it back. Moving on to the shoulders and shortening the elastic should rein those tops in. Next up we have the horizontal side allignment and it looks to be a simple dressing issue. Here we have the Han-snap and yours is placed to far in and we need you to move it OR simply trim were I indicated with that blue line, that way the sides would sit flush and the snap should get in the right location. That edge is the same as on the RS suit and should be trimmed anyways and with the shim you have the room for it. Nice work on said shims and just a heads up that for Centurion that seam needs to be hidden. Lastly we have the belt and raising it up a tad would make you a shoe-in for Centurion. And that´s it! Again congratulations on a job well done A few tweeks and some elbow grease and Centurion is around the corner

  18. Hi Jesús, Great to see your Centurion application! Thank you for making all of the required changes from your EIB approval, and I really appreciate your patience. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions We have nothing more to add beyond what was already pointed out in your EIB application. Congratulations again! Great to see an ESB Centurion. Now get out their and make the Empire proud!

  19. I've done the t-tracks. It wasn't easy and I stressed a lot. I used hot water and pliers to curve them. It works pretty good. I followed mainly two tutorials : http://www.stormtrooperblaster.com/e11-blaster-t-track-installation.html I've glued the t-tracks with cynolate glue. I shoud have used hot glue because cyanolate vapors made white stains on the paint between the t-tracks. I had to retouch paint. The result looks good. For a first time, I'm not disappointed. Not perfect but accurate. Will do better with the next blaster !

  21. TM would be my choice for a Hero, I didn't know RS did one. Price is in a similar ball park as RS iirc but you're best bet is to ask him. He's also @troopermaster on here if you would prefer that to Facebook. Ideally source all parts from the same maker. All suits are a bit different and so have a "look" which will work best as a matched set. The colour of the ABS will vary a little too so ordering from one maker at the same time will reduce this as well.

  22. Hi Niclas, If you check the RS Propmasters YouTube channel, they recently announced their 'Hero' helmet. If that's the route you are going, it could be worth a look. Alternatively, check out the armour and helmets from Troopermaster (on Facebook). TM makes some of the best armour and helmets on the market, by far, and is based in the UK! :-)

  23. Welcome to the FISD! Helmets are 1 size fits all, some people they are more snug (me) others have loads of room. They just affects how you pad it out to fit. RS is a stunt kit, the armour is the same but they do not do a Hero helmet which has a different face plate. My weight has gone up and down. I dropped about 5kg and armour fit was still fine. Much more than this or a large gain may mean things need adjusting. I don't think I've ever seen a Hero light sabre outside of that CRL image. Not sure where they came from but generally the Hero suit will replicate the suits Luke and Han (and also a few background TKs if you pay attention) wore in ANH. There is also the "promo" trooper which used the SR-14R and short holster but there are maybe 2 members with those I've ever seen.

  24. Although the description on BBTS says "Helmet adjustment system ensures a comfortable and secure fit, up to a US 8 hat size" which was the hard hat liner type, it appears they are lined as seen at GE, a member just posted these images on FB of his BBTS helmet

  26. Hey Josh, Don’t panic - we all started somewhere. Personally, what I’d suggest is like Tony said: to take a break from your armour and check out some build tutorials etc. The below link is the tutorials that I followed and were incredibly helpful: (This is the first - there are many). Now, this is for a different make of armour but many of the principals are the same. For my build, I probably watched each of Ross’ videos twice before making a cut, just to get a feel for what was going on. I then sat with the tutorial, listened to a short instruction then paused and copied, listen-pause-copy etc etc. You can still make good what you’ve got so just kick back, watch some YouTube and get into the groove. You’ll do great. :-) Dan

  27. Nice work trooper, just a couple of things you could do to really shine. Knee ammo strip has some return edge left on the top, you can see the curve and trim line. You could also increase the size of the curve on the bottom of the thigh ammo strip. Teeth should not have any paint on the gums, from the CRL: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Thigh cover strip should be cut straight across not angled Appears you cut the bottom of the sniper plate on angles, should be straight across, but see what the DO's say You could also trim a little more off your smaller ab plate Helmet brow for a "Stunt" is a little low but again up to the DO's. Normally the "Hero" version has a lower brow On a few images your drop boxes don't look like they are in alignment with the end of the belt, you may need to add a couple dabs of E600 to help them stay there. Good luck with approval.

  28. Hi Dereck, You have done a great job on your armor build. Looking at your Helmet I noticed a common issue, I had the same in my EIB Application. you will probably be asked by the D.O.s to remove some of the paint on the teeth of your frown and add a bit paint to both ends. As stated in the CRLs for Basic approval: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. reference images. Good luck with your approval. Yous EIB badge is almost ready Sr.
