  1. Let's just hope that through sure pressure alone Anovos is forced to pull the rabbit out of their hat and not go under.

  2. I wasn't happy with the gap between the shoulders and the chest/back plates which should be minimal, as per the CRL. I have tightened the shoulder bell elastics and I am reducing the biceps a little to try and bring the shoulders in closer.

  3. With an apparent further 3 years licence you'd think Anovos would be on their last chance. It's quite simply, don't try to get too big too fast and deliver what you promise.

  5. This list is for Original Trilogy (OT) builds. ANH, ESB and ROTJ) For those who are about to embark on a TK build, in addition to the kit itself and the supplies you will need** to do that we are often asked about other items to complete the ensemble and get approved. These are known as "soft parts", and include the holster, under suit, boots, gloves, neck seal and canvas belt. Be aware that some armorers may include one or more of these items with their kit, but some do not. Also be aware that just because the seller includes them it does not always mean that they are the correct type/style and are eligible for approval (especially at higher levels). When in doubt, always ask your armorer which items are part of the package or feel free to ask here if you have doubts/questions. We are here to help! If there is a particular soft part you need, below is a list of "tried and true" vendors who have an excellent reputation, as well as suggestions for where to get other pieces or even make your own! NOTE: If you are a vendor and would like to add your sales thread here or you have a tutorial on how to make your own please PM me before posting here. **https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/page/11/ White Canvas Belt: NOTE: not all belts are created equal! The belts used in the films were firm and sturdy with no creasing or sagging. Vendor- Rob Kittel https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19803-fs-white-canvas-belts/ Soulart https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40849-geeky-pinks-phantastic-gaskets-and-so-much-more/ Trooperbay- https://trooperbay.com/stormtrooper-sandtrooper-white-canvas-belt Make your own: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/665-howto-a-guide-to-making-a-canvas-bel Neck Seal: Vendor: Darman https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/21385-darmans-neck-seals/ Soulart https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40849-geeky-pinks-phantastic-gaskets-and-so-much-more/ Trooperbay- https://trooperbay.com/costuming-accessories/headgear-neck-seals/stormtrooper-neck-seal Make your own: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/34548-10-diy-neck-seal-v1/ Holster: NOTE: Holster straps differ for various costumes. Please see the CRL for your particular style here: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Vendor- Darman https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16744-leather-e-11-holsters-35/ Trooperbay https://trooperbay.com/costuming-accessories/ammo-pouches/stormtrooper-genuine-leather-blaster-holster Make your own: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23643-making-a-holster-for-anh-stunt/ Boots: Vendor: Keep Trooping https://keeptrooping.com/product/421-classic-white/ NOTE: Imperial boots are 100% approvable at every level, but they only open once a month for orders. They can run a bit small, so I suggest ordering a half size larger than what you normally wear. Vendor: Crowprops https://crowprops.bigcartel.com/product/jhodpur-tkclassic-short-boots NOTE: Crowprops are 100% approvable at every level. Make your own: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27565-how-i-did-my-boots-tkboots-alternative/ Under Suit: Under suits can be purchased from many sources, and you have the choice of one or two piece types. I have found Amazon to be among the least expensive sources. The easiest thing to do is visit that site and search for it, for instance "Mens compression suit top black long sleeve". Examples: Mens compression suit top black long sleeve- https://www.amazon.com/s?k=mens+compression+suit+top+black+long+sleeve&ref=nb_sb_noss Mens compression suit pants black- https://www.amazon.com/s?k=mens+compression+suit+pants+black&ref=nb_sb_noss Vendor Trooperbay https://trooperbay.com/star-wars-stormtrooper-sandtrooper-black-undersuit NOTE: While some prefer the one-piece type, the two piece tends to be better when you have to... uhhh, let's just say "answer nature's call". IMPORTANT! When ordering an under suit, be aware that many have printed logos, white stitching etc. These can not be visible while wearing your armor. Hand guards (Flexible) Vendor: justjoseph63 - https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35702-fs-flexible-hand-guards-for-centurion-level/ Vendor: Trooperbay- https://trooperbay.com/flexible-hand-guards-in-white-black-or-plain Gloves: NOTE: As per the CRL for Basic 501st OT TK approval, gloves must be all black with no visible straps/logos/designs and can be rubber, Nomex, leather or a leather-like material. For Level 2 (Expert Infantry) and Level 3 (Centurion) they must be made of rubber or a rubber-like material. I highly suggest finding ones with a long wrist, which prevents it from sliding out from underneath your forearm armor. Vendor: Trooperbay- https://trooperbay.com/accurate-trooper-black-latex-gloves Vendor: justjoseph63- https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49156-fs-rubber-gloves-for-expert-infantrycenturion-level/ eBay is also an alternative. Just search Black Nomex (or leather, rubber etc.) gloves. Be sure when ordering the rubber type from eBay that you are purchasing the heavier duty type and not the disposable kind. Thigh Garter system: Vendor: Pencap510 https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29991-thigh-garter-system/ NOTE: These are not a requirement, but they are AWESOME! Pauldrons- (For Heavy Weapons Troopers) Vendor: Soulart https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40849-geeky-pinks-phantastic-gaskets-and-so-much-more/

  6. I'm not really building yet, but since I'm starting to order pieces I thought I'd start a build thread. A little intro- I am a total n00b to armor. I'm an intermediate seamstress, earning my stripes through drafting and sewing my staff officer and Rey costumes. I'm 5'2" petite build so I know I'm in for a lot of trimming... but yes, I have seen the threads from the ladies who have been here before me I will be leveraging heavily. I've been eying a TK build for years, but honestly have been scared due to my height and inexperience with armor. But last weekend while shopping for TIE armor for my husband I (drinking wine) also asked for a quote for TK armor, and pulled the trigger on both. So, status: Costume Armor: WTF ordered Undersuit: ordered from Academy, hoping it works- but it's like $20 total so if not, no giant loss https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/bcg-womens-turbo-long-sleeve-shirt#repChildCatSku=111076921 https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/bcg-womens-cold-weather-training-legging#repChildCatSku=111460350 Other stuff Cut-resistant gloves ordered, because I'm a walking disaster https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MXUHHGK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Scissors ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007KN0RQM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc= Up next: Lots of stuff saved in Evernote notes! Gloves, neck seals, etc. go measure my feet for good TK boots size Other tools Wait... worry that I won't be able to pull it off... remember that it took me 2 years to sew an officer uniform... worry that I am too short, etc. etc.

  7. Agreed. It needs to hurt and make things finally happen. No more games, get your act together. We want Anovos to succeed, but don’t want to be on a sinking ship with them if that’s their end goal anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Don't blame you. The key is to put just enough pressure on the three involved to get the product to the customer. You push too hard and Anovos will just file for bankruptcy and we don't want that, nobody wins.

  14. I think you guys are missing the point. For starters ATA armor has two different size forearms, the right being larger. Also the armor is thick as doesn't flex very well. If Adi trims the flat part back he'll have to trim the cover strip well below the 15mm. The cover strip material is even thicker and is not flexible so trying to curve it won't due either. If he does this it will undoubtedly leave him with a cover strip that is not flush which probably won't look pretty, not to mention it could get snagged on things, and he'll most certantly need to add an inner cover strip for strength.

  16. Very true! Thank you for the heads up on different surfaces, that would have never crossed my mind till it occurred. I will make sure to wait to add major changes till the boots and gloves come in. I am not too sure when I should be getting either of them, should be sometime this month or next. I am really happy to hear that everything is looking great, just have those small changes for comfort and pieces that I need to add.

  17. Looking good, for comfort, it should be noted that you will never be 100% comfortable, as your walking around covered in hard plastic. To improve look for any pinch points, remove any sharp corners and adjust your strapping. This will however be a continued process as you do different troops (ie walking up hills presents different pinch points vs walking on flat surfaces). I found the back of my knees as the worse place for pinching. Based on the pics you Biceps look ok, I'd just make sure you have enough movement between your Bicep and Forearm Arm. Once you have your gloves on you may find you hand guard hitting your Forearm armour for example. I'd also suggest putting your boots on to see if your Calves sit higher, which will give you a guide as to the gap between your thigh and calves, which may then led to you wanting to add the half moons on the Thigh/Calves behind your knees.

  18. Got myself all suited up today and boy did it hurt. Lots of work that I did not know existed, very glad I put the armor on today. The right thigh's strap was a little short so the painters tape helped hold it up. The chest piece got caught where the abs and kidney meet, we did not catch that till after the armor was taken off. As you can see in the second photo, the right side is not wanting to line up with the abs so I am going to need to figure something out for that. What do you guys recommend to make the armor more comfortable? Are the biceps too high? How does the belt look? Over all, anything you notice that should be changed? Let me know! Thank you everyone for all the help. All of it has been wonderful.

  19. That would be why I didn't catch it when I reviewed my spreadsheet... Good to know! I do vaguely recall a discussion about the cods, now that I think about it.

  20. Yay, another Trooper. Take your time, it's your own race, and measure, re-measure and re-measure and take small cuts/trims. As you can't put it back on. While waiting for your BBB look to start gathering your build supplies, glue, cutting implement, cut resistant gloves etc. And above all else have fun, it can be a daunting experience (it took me a good 2 weeks before I made my first cut) but once you start you'll build your own confidence. There are also so many great resources and people on these forums and in your local garrison there to provide advice and assistance. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your progress. TK20187

  26. So, I was shopping for a lightsaber for a build i'm planning when I came across the e-12 blaster rifle on Saberforge... https://saberforge.com/collections/blasters/products/blaster How accurate is this in terms of what we use here in the FISD? Could someone clear approval with this? Is it completely out of the question for EIB and above or does it depend on the GML?
    1 point
  27. It’s an AEG E-11 airsoft with a sound board in it. Totally inaccurate, needed tons of mod to get approve for EIB (rails, scope and counter positions, power cylinders...) Good base only if you plan to mod one for Rogue One TK costume. But for $350 there are better E-11 blaster out there. Just my personal opinion.

  28. Right, made quite a bit of progress this evening. Started with the scope. For those that haven't used spade bits before (like me before this evening), they look a bit like this; (Image from google - don't know if this is the right size) I measured up and drilled a Pilot hole. Then started with the spade bit, varying the speed to get a steady result. I stopped at this depth as I don't have any smaller sizes. Off to borrow more from my dad. ;-) Separated the sight and sight pin(?) Then back to using my favourite Dremel disc to work on the stock and t-tracks. And here's some pics to show the t-tracks. Really pleased with the appearance of separate parts. Before and after: As always, more to come. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
