That’s a good idea! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Dave, I used soft Velcro on the back side of the drop boxes and on the inside of the belt opposite the square outer boxes. Then I used a piece of 1” wide hard Velcro to attach the box to the belt. Since I used Velcro, I can raise them, lower them, or remove them. This looks to me to be the most screen accurate and functional. I should note that I have observed considerable scratches and worn paint on the top of my thigh armor due to the drop boxes. I have now added white craft foam to the inside of my drop boxes but I have not trooped with this modification so I do not know how effective it will be.2 points

Thanks again for the help! Thank you as well Rat. Especially for that last minute "save" ... you know what I'm referring to! I plan on moving toward EI *soon* ... taking a bit of a break first (both for myself and my wallet!).2 points

Been hitting it hard for the past two weeks. Upper portion of my ANH armor is complete, building up the leg portions of my kit right now. It will be a HWT when all said and done even though I am posing with my hero bucket. Stunt bucket is on the work bench. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Information: First/Last Name: Ahmed Ghoneim Future Garrison: Canadian Garrison Armor: ANOVOS Helmet: ANOVOS Cloth belt: ANOVOS Neck seal: ANOVOS Boot: TK Boots Blaster: Quest Design Canada Gasket: n/a Height: 175 cm Wight: 65 kg TK Type: ANH Stunt Name(s) of any Trooper(s) who significantly helped with your build: Rat, TheSwede, and gmrhodes13 provided great advice throughout my build process. Thanks guys! I also need to thank ukswrath for the amazing build thread and Ross Walmsley for the youtube popper tutorials. Front: Left side: Right side: Back: Ab close up: Action pose: Helmet front: Helmet left: Helmet right: E11 pics: The fact that I've made it this far is amazing! Tips, feedback, are very welcome Still on my to-do list: Connect boots to inside of shins using poppers. I'm halfway there, just got my measurements wrong. I'm hoping this will prevent my left shin particularly from sliding around. Order silicone hand guards ... the Anovos ones ... are just, yeah. They slide around a lot. Investigate a few troublesome popper connections on chest and shoulder bells that keep disconnecting when I am kitting up (bending, reaching, etc.). For now I've gone with multiple poppers to reinforce the ones that pop out occasionally.1 point

Alright... I’m ready for Halloween! I’ll be standing stationary for sure... but it feels so good and amazing when it all comes together!!! After Halloween issues to fix. Need to add Tony’s hooks to the back of my shins. Need to fix the sniper knee plate. Got that issue where it ticks into the thigh. Cod strap is half the length it needs to be. Also need to paint the back leg cover strips Anovos white. I’m sure there’s more but I’m pleased thus far. Good god it’s hard to see out of. Further critique is welcome. Not sure about anyone else but I leave mine as one unit. I put them in as if they are one piece if that makes sense. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk1 point

Yeah... I wasn’t able to fit the bells over them after I had put them on. Doing a Another go when my wife gets home and can help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Yeah... I am aware. Realized I messed up as soon as I did it. I’ll fix it after Halloween. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

And I appreciate the other input too. I’ll take a look at the arms later and start tinkering with those. I do have my boots but I don’t have the undersuit yet. Thanks!1 point

I appreciate that feedback on the belt, thanks. I did think it might be a little too much margin but I wanted to leave a little margin for error. I’ll definitely be going back to refine it.1 point

Rapidly nearing completion. Test fit the top. It’s hard putting it on solo. Big lesson learned... put the biceps into the shoulder bells FIRST lol. Didn’t do that for the test, so it was uncomfortable and wonky, but everything seems to be coming along nicely. So close... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Thanks for the recommendations on both the forearm and the shoulder bell pieces. I will make these changes on Saturday and post some updates. 1. I plan to extend the strap between the bicep and the forearm. 2. Shorten the strap between the shoulder bell and chest/back connection strap. 3. Remove the return edge on the shoulder bells. I'll see what those adjustments do and then upload some pics.1 point

Wish I could give you better advice, problem is I have yet to see any screen or prop photos with detailed belt connections.1 point

Thanks Greg! I agree the frown does look a little "off" from the pics. I spent quite a bit of time straightening out the paint, since I had to re-do whatever it was that Anovos did originally. I also had difficulty adding the final tooth(?) at the edges of the frown. On one side there's more space for it, on the other there isn't. Cover strips for the biceps are the same width. Thanks! Aside from touching up the frown on the Anovos helmet, I haven't done anything else with it yet. I plan on making adjustments to the helmet for L2. Yes, the cloth belt seems stronger than the original kits, and it does not come with any configuration for Hero or Stunt (holster). The frown was under-painted instead of having an overspray like the other kits as well.1 point

Welcome to the FISD, now as a full member My first official troop was only a month ago as well, but I already got so many hugs and so many people wanted pictures - this justified my year of work within three hours1 point

Hey Jesse! I simply removed everything from the smaller lens except for the two lenses and the black plastic tube connecting them and just glued the whole thing into the scope front. Certainly not the nicest option (especially if you look at how nicely everyone else managed to do it) as you will end up with a little black circle around the lens at the front (not sure if I included any pictures of that in my build thread), but this can only be seen if you look very closely. So it's kind of a trade-off between love for details and the desire to finally be done with the scope1 point

Very nice job Ahmed. Now once you get your basic approval, which should be easy, lets see that EI application. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk1 point

Nice work, don't see any hold ups for basic approval1 point

Looks good! Nice job! The only thing that popped out for me was the teeth in the straight-on shot of the helmet and the ears in the side shots. The frown looks lop-sided (teeth look longer on the right side of the helmet). And the ears look like the bottoms should be back a bit. Both of these observations could be just due to the angle of the picture. Are the cover strips on your biceps the same width as your forearms? Again, could just be the picture. Good luck with approval!1 point

I like the way your fiberglass resin bucket turned out. I am contemplating getting one for myself to do a Skytrooper bucket (v2.0). I’d prefer working with that material than ABS. There are a few features offhand I’d have to redo completely to meet LvL 3 standards, e.g. ear bump structure, but overall, I think it would achieve the look I really want.1 point

Tape is really good helping to close and make a flatter surface, you can put some tension on when applying the tape, you will know when you've gone too far as the tape will break.1 point

I get asked questions by newer people in our garrison about building a TK for the first time and look for tips or helpful advice. Well it felt like I was repeating myself a lot so I threw together a blog post to cover a number of topics that I wish I had known more about going into the build for the first time. Some of the topics include commentary on the tools/supplies you'll need measuring trimming gluing armor strapping (a more hybrid approach with both snaps and velcro) shimming and working with ABS paste and painting And as an added bonus, none of the images are hosted on PhotoBucket https://michaeltangen.wordpress.com/2018/10/16/tips-to-make-that-first-stormtrooper-tk-armor-build-a-little-less-intimidating/1 point

I only posted this a few months ago, which is why you may not have seen it. The best diagram I have is from Jeff (wingnut65) of the Tampa Bay Squad (below). The only difference in mine is that I use 2 snaps on the shoulder bell to shoulder bridge connection.1 point
