  1. Past hour
  2. Welcome to FISD, John! Looking forward to seeing your build. Please ask lots of questions, if you are ever unsure on how to assemble a particular part, we are here to help you on your white armour journey.
  3. Today
  4. You may want to take a little more material of the tops of your sniper plate, For a more screen accurate look, it is suggested that the top of the rear ridge of the sniper plate be aligned with the top ridge of the calf. Also note that the sides are angled rather than curved. References: You could also trim a little more of your ab button plates
  5. Looking good trooper, before the DO's start your review you may want to remove a little of the pain on the gums: For Basic approval and above, Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Eight total teeth on the frown are cut out. You will need to remove a bit more material from the front of your forearms, comparison
  6. Very nice, looking forward to seeing the progress
  7. Don't forget to add a cut-out/step to the top of the ear as it allows the ear to come in more at the top. Just remember where ever it's touching you will need to sand to reduce gaps elsewhere
  8. These are the photos of the little bit of work i got done today before my Dremel battery died. This photo is ear #1 at the upper location which I just can see making up enough space to bring it to the tube "curve-out". The second photo is with the #1 ear closer to the tube but shoes the helmet side-seam. So, I started to work on the #2 ear. Here is the #2 ear that I think has better potential. If you look at the pencil mark, it looks possible that, removing material to that line, will bring it to the "tube-curve" and still have the upper helmet seam covered. It will definitely involve very small changes to bring the lower part of the ear to congruence with the rest of the tube. And yes, getting old sucks and is not for sissies! Its a good thing, even though we're getting older, we're not growing up Let me know your thoughts on my progress. Thanks.
  9. So i cutted the upper sides of the abs plate, they are now not visible anymore. Anyways, i have a new plan for some parts: 1) new helmet: im not really happy with the shape and some details, so a friend is now printing a new one, a cooler one 2) i will make gold leaf over all gold parts, it just looks cooler than regular gold colour. And with a new helmet i have to do this anyways
  10. Looking great John. Bellow a reference for you to check the scope and Hengstler counter correct position and other details for your build. Good luck and looking forward for your advances. Perhaps some info here can be useful for you.
  11. Here's some pics of my E11 blaster prints. Any comments welcome please! If there's anything not right, I'd rather know now than after I've started gluing them all together!
  12. https://voicebooster.com/products/icomm-imperial-communication-system Consider looking at the TK-Talkie as well (my preference). I'm also not a fan of adding space and weight to my helmet, so my comms setup is behind my chest plate! https://tktalkie.com/store

  14. Yes you are correct! See you over there!
  15. Thank you! I've commissioned Ross at RWA to vacu-form me a set of 2mm TK armour (ANH stunt) including helmet, canvas belt, neck seal, aluminium thermal detonator clips, popper strapping kit and leather holster. I've also ordered a pair of white boots from Ryan at Imperial Warfighters. Should I make my WIP thread in the https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ forum?
  16. It's really helpful to have one over here, since we are the home of all things Stormtroopers (most often called TKs here)! We have programs called "Expert Infantry" and "Centurion", which are aimed to make your armor look outstanding! The extra levels are not needed by any means, however when building the armor yourself, it is very easy to have the aim set for those levels right from the beginning, since what makes them hard to accomplish is often times having to remove things that are already glued on, only to apply them in the "correct" way (according to the extra levels)! Doing it from the beginning usually only costs a few more minutes of thinking, and will in the end make your armor look even more like the ones we see on screen!
  17. Welcome John! It seems your 8-year-old self has found our club of other 8-year-olds! Awesome to hear you have a Stunt build in the works! Did you go with RS, RWA, or some other armor maker? As Jonatan mentioned, you should definitely also keep a WIP thread here as our entire focus is stormtroopers, and you'll receive great feedback from our ranks. Between that, and your help from Chris and the rest of the UKG, I'm sure you'll build a suit fit for Imperial duty! Looking forward to following along with you!
  18. thank you for the build thread links - very helpful! I've got a build thread started already on the UK Garrison forum, but I'll start one here too and keep them both updated., I think I'll be needing as much help as I can get! 😄
  19. Hello John! Welcome to the FISD! Glad to have you! I'm really jealous of you being able to see STAR WARS in the cinema! Great to hear that you're building your armor! The first thing we'd recommend you to do is to start your own build thread! This is where you post images of your progress and ask questions that you may have, and our team of experts will guide you towards the best looking armor possible! https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ Here is a long list of useful information that mister @MaskedVengeance has compiled!
  20. Hello troopers First time ANH Stunt Stormtrooper builder here. I found my way here from the 501st UK Garrison forum (thanks for the invite themaninthesuitcase) Bit about me: I'm old enough that I saw Episode IV in the cinema when it was just called STAR WARS. I've decided to treat my 8 year-old inner self and build my very first stormtrooper costume 🙂 I'm currently awaiting (impatiently!) for my vacu-form kit of ABS parts to arrive. In the meantime, I've been keeping my 3d printer busy printing parts for an E11 blaster that I'm making. Don't think I've been this excited about a build project since... ever! Onwards and upwards...
  21. Hi Rebecca, I'm finalizing my bucket build and starting to look at the electronics. Five years later after your quote above, would still say the iComm is your preference, if its still available? Also, do you have the link handy for that product? Thanks.,
