  1. Hey everyone, This build thread is a long time coming. I have a KB Props FOTK (TLJ) kit and am building as an Executioner. Armor/Helmet - KB Props Gaskets/Harness/Shorts - Geeky Pink's Phantastic Gaskets (My amazing garrison-mate Teresa) Boots - Imperial Boots Laser Ax - 3D printed parts courtesy of the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) SE-44C - TBD (likely 3D printed by another member of the Badlands Garrison) This is my first full foray into building a costume. My ANH TK was a commission that I did a little work on the achieve EIB. Pictures of build progress too follow...
  2. Well I’m down to only waiting on a few things to come in now.. got my undersuit today. -KB Armor (December) -Gio’s Boots -Blaster Rifle & Pistol Kits (January) -Harness and Gaskets -R2Dan Metal Holster (December) Still waiting for Geeky to reply about opening another run and not sure how long Gio takes to make and ship his boots. Was also able to slide into Dan’s current holster run. One of the guys had to drop from the list. Btw, I tried on the undersuit. I assumed it would be a little snug. I just gotta make sure I watch my eating over the holidays! Wearing the suit by itself kinda makes me feel like this: Sent from my iPhone using The Force
  3. Yup! I’ve got a few things to keep me occupied until the blasters arrive in maybe January. Still need to order my stuff through Geeky Pink. She hasn’t replied since I messaged her, I’m guessing she’s pretty busy. I finally found her page concerning her items. Aside from that I’m looking at the pouches at Trooperbay. Waiting to hear back from Dan to see if I can get on the metal holster run. I think it’s full and everyone has paid up. What else can I do? I suppose I can get paint and supplies for the blasters.. 4. Perhaps as a back up plan, reach out to Teresa here on the boards Geekypinks. She makes gaskets for all FO TK’s https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/search/?q=Geeky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Greetings and salutations fellow troopers. At long last I have received my FOTK kit. It has been a long road that started in June 2016. Anovos unveiled a Premier FOTK kit that was promised to ship in Sept 2016. Welllllllllll, that kit still hasn't shipped to the poor folks who purchased that. I jumped out back in March and ordered a kit from KB Props. Unfortunately, life got in the way for KB but at long last I received most of my TFA kit last week. I was hopeful to suit up for the Ep 8 premier as a member of the First Order, but that just isn't realistically going to happen. I say "most" as there are few little pieces missing, namely the hand guards and the TD "holder" (the 3 ridged piece), which KB will send soon. Also coming from KB is an executioner "upgrade" kit with a black yoke, second back piece and black shoulder bells. I already have a TFA FOTK helmet from Anovos and have the Executioner helmet on order from them too, for now. Surprising to nobody, it has been delayed to next quarter. Goal: Basic approval for TFA FOTK and TLJ Executioner. The builds are similar enough that I hope to get two costumes out of only a little extra effort. By documenting my build and efforts to achieve that goal, I hope and seek your input as I progress on how to best accomplish this goal. 9. Hey everyone, As I noted in my Anovos build thread, I've decided to get a refund from Anovos and prefer to put my money with Jimmi as his kit will better fit me and most likely arrive sooner. So starting a new thread for this specifically I will keep this one specific to the build and not so much to general chatter. Here's what the my FOTK will eventually be built with: Buckets: Anovos TLJ Standard Bucket (Preordered) Jimmiroquai V5 TLJ Bucket Armor: Jimmiroqaui V5 TLJ Armor Holster: Dan's Metal Holster Gaskets: Pinky Geeks Phantastic Gaskets Pinky Geeks Neck Seal Harness: Pinky Geeks Harness Belt: Belts of the First Order Belt Soft Goods: FOTK Boots and Gloves from Imperial Boots Additional Items: Jimmi FOTK decals from Trooperbay Fabric Belt Pouches from gijim F-11D and SE-44c from Heston Solutions Later upgrades: Most likely will be purchasing Ukswrath's Audio system and fans for the FOTK helmet, but armor first. Will also most likely purchase some shiny biker shorts from Geeky Pinks as well. Hopefully with this build I will get the components sooner and be able to provide another build thread for this. I will aim to get plenty of details, photos, and even video of this build. thanks again for everything!
  10. Hello, everybody! I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally be making a build thread! My name is Brendan. I'm 22 years old and I live alone with my cat, Raz. I've loved Star Wars forever and have always like dressing up in costumes. In high school, I got involved with some local Star Wars costume groups and met a lot of really great people. Unfortunately, they each came to an end because of leadership issues. Determined not to let yet another folded group mean the end of my access to Star Wars costume-y goodness, I finally decided to look into the 501st. Before this, I had always viewed the 501st and the Rebel Legion as an amazing, yet unattainable for me, calibre of cosplay. This totally changed when I found my way to whitearmor.net and saw how constructive, helpful and involved all these troopers are in elevating each other to success. Not only did it make the task seem much more approachable, but it cemented for me that this is a community I dearly want to be a part of. You guys ROCK! In August, I placed my order with Authentic Props. Besides being endorsed by countless troopers, a Canadian vendor was desirable for me because I live in Southwestern Ontario. Since then, I have had plenty of time to devour others' build threads and assemble all the tools and soft parts I would need. My boots came in from Imperial Boots, my blaster from Quest Design Canada, my neck seal from Geeky Pink, and other assorted goodies from Trooper Bay. I also ordered helmet electronics from Ukswrath on Etsy. I am super pleased with ALL of it and I highly recommend each of these vendors. With my shopping list completed, and my brain full of other troopers' great ideas, all I had left to do was wait for that beautiful big brown box—which arrived on Christmas Eve! Mark must have shipped "expedited parcel via reindeer". Ho ho ho! Without further ado, let's get to the building part of this build thread. As many have suggested, I'll be building for Centurion from the get-go. A quick note; I will try my best to give credit to the troopers whose threads gave me many of the methods I'll be using, but because I have read so many threads over the past few months, I fear I've lost track of some of my sources. If you see something you came up with and I've not given credit, please do chime in so I can say thanks. :-) I decided to start with the helmet—I reckon that looking at it will serve as motivation as I work through the rest of the project! My first step was trimming and sending the back edges of the face. I know they won't be seen, but it gave me an opportunity to practice with the dremel. As others have suggested, tracing the guidelines with a pencil helped a great deal. Same thing with the back of the bucket. Then came the teeth. My oh my, this part stressed me out. I was afraid that, in my newbie hands, the drill bit was going to fly off in another direction and carve Joker-style scars up its face. I practiced on the scrap ABS first and, thankfully, I completed the dental work without injury (to myself, or to the mask). After drilling a hole in each indent, I used needle files to finish the shape. After that came the eyes, for which I first drilled, then cut with scissors, and then filed. I struggled with these a little. The OTTK's canon asymmetry will be an ongoing relief for me throughout this project, I think. Next I set about attaching mounting posts for the lenses. I used Chicago screws for this, super-gluing them directly to the inside of the mask (after sanding it a little). I'm aware that, lots of times, this isn't enough to keep them secured, so I used PlasticWeld to further secure them to the inside (pictures later on). I saw this on SlyFox470's thread. I cut the lens shapes from Trooper Bay's dark green lens, fit them to the screws one at a time, marked, and drilled. Here's a picture of the PlasticWeld securing the mounting posts. As also recommended in SlyFox's thread, I used some to reinforce the inside of the chin recesses since the plastic is a little thinner there. And that's where I've gotten so far! The PlasticWeld is currently curing. After that, I'll be coating the interior with PlastiDip. I am extremely eager to get your input and feedback as I work through this. As a first-time trooper, I'll need all the help I can get. Thanks everyone!

  12. It's been over a year since the last update. Currently, things have progressed quite a bit: Armor - BSP contacted us last week to tell us our shipment would be going out that week. We have not heard back since, but we have seen pictures of armor parts in boxes, we should be getting a tracking number very soon. Helmets - Still no group buy for these. Individual members have been buying helmets where they can find them, some are finding Anovos helmets, others going with KB and other sources. Gaskets - Our local progress on this has not progressed, no one locally is currently producing gaskets. Most members are looking at ordering from Geeky Pink. Soft Parts - Lots of the soft parts have been purchased by our group members. A group order covered almost all of the gloves people needed. Body suits and shorts people are getting from various locations. Boots continue to be sourced independently, lots of us who have ANH boots are going to use those. Blasters and Accessories - Some group members have started picking these up, but the focus is still very much on completing the armor for approval. As of this writing, it is not clear how many of us will be able to complete our builds before Rise of Skywalker, which was our initial goal. We started this process in late 2017/early 2018. It is now getting into late 2019 and we have not had delivery from BSP. BSP has not been very communicative, it is hard to get updates from them because they are busy and there is a language barrier. BSP initially promised delivery by Summer of 2018, we have now passed the summer of 2019. This is frustrating, and certainly has cost us a lot of time that could have been used to build kits. When BSP does communicate, the updates range from promising to concerning. Many parts had to be redone, multiple molds had to be reconstructed. We have been given multiple delivery and shipment estimates. The armor we have seen looks good, but when we will get it is still in question.
  13. Welcome! I'd suggest taking a look in the TFA and TLJ TK sections for strapping ideas. Teresa at Geeky Pink can also supply you with neck seal and a harness (should you choose to use one) and is super helpful with any questions you have as she's a Phasma as well! Chroming appears to be the biggest challenge for most for this costume. I had read some stories that look like nightmares so I would suggest just researching this thoroughly! Are you getting the fingers from KB as well? Wasn't sure if they make those. You may also want to look into getting yourself a blaster. Looking forward to your progress!
  14. It`s been a long wait but the armor cleared the Swedish customs as of yesterday so figured it would be safe to start this up When I first watched the force awakens I was really disapointed with the new Stormtrooper helmet - DID NOT LIKE IT! The armor was cool though - however, over the years the helmet has grown on me so now I like it and really look forward building this kit. Here`s the version I´m going for: Besides from the armor (duh) one needs the following items: Cloth gaskets - Geeky pink`s phantastic gaskets (for Centurion you will need rubber). Armor vest - Diversity Props Boots and gloves - Imperial boots Undersuit - stromtrooperundersuit.com Belt and pouches - Trooperbay Blaster rifle - 3Dprops NL Metal holster - R2Dan Back pack - BSP (borrowed pic from FB, kit ships tomorrow)
  15. Thanks for sharing, Brendan! I did my first Pride parade in Tampa the day before I moved to SC and it was a blast! I don't think I have ever seen more rainbows in my life. lol. I've done the Weird Al troop before as well. Being the geeky sort of guy I am it was incredible to meet him, but as you mentioned the wait time was crazy!

  23. Just wishing to share my Pride weekend with any of you that may appreciate it. (As always, there’s no room for hatred or unacceptance in my thread. These are my thoughts and experiences in my armor.) As I’ve posted before for the past few years, In our Rural Albertan area, we have a Pride weekend. Where we celebrate love and acceptance. As Family and friends. It’s a Family affair which involves all members of ones families in the Peace Country Region to come and support one another, their loved ones, and be together in a healthy, accepting, inclusive way. Celebrate whom we are as individuals. I always am honoured to be there. Love is love. We all deserve to be loved and cherished. Free of abuse and condemnation. By our choice of partners, our friends, family of choice and family of origin. Treated with kindness and equality. Whether we are straight or gay. If you are fortunate enough to have found your one true love, in anyone, you are lucky. Cherish it. Fight for it. Celebrate it. Hold onto it. Support it. I’m always happy to see love. And offer support. This event troop, 4 years ago that directly followed the Orlando shooting, was the first ever Pride event to be an official recognized troop by the Legion. As well, was the first for the community of Grande Prairie. My heart was full of love and pride to be there at the very beginning, and I experienced it with several of my Garrison mates I love dearly. This Family event is unique for a pride event, and it holds a very special, meaningful place in my heart. Many incredible things I experienced this weekend 4 prides ago. On a personal note, I struggled to attend this year and felt like a piece of my heart was missing. But I went. I supported. I hugged families there supporting their sons and daughters. Husbands walking hand in hand with their children. Wives with their children. Surrounded by their straight family and friends. People being together feeling safe to be who they really are. Youth being able to be who they are with no fear. I’m glad I was there. The masses that stopped by our booth were so grateful we were there. The hugs were real. The love I witnessed was real. It was so beautiful to witness, it was actually heart wrenching. Life is so strange. I’m grateful I shared this day with those in our garrison that also wished to experience the day together. I know it touched their hearts. It’s amazing what you can experience and create in and through our armor. Sharing with you the love of our Squadron, Garrison, Legion, community members and myself. Happy Pride weekend. With a grateful heart, Teresa. TK 41307. SoulArt. Geeky Pink. [emoji3590][emoji3448][emoji169][emoji172][emoji170][emoji171][emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. back of the armor. I’m going to try and widen the rear by and inch or two because this looks dumb. Also didn’t have the back sitting on me properly im holding the armor where my natural belt line is. But the thighs are now sitting right above my knee caps which I believe is correct putting this armor on is going to be. Interesting. Need to put the leg gaskets in. I also need to figure out how to hold my ab armor up. Geeky pink said to use snaps on the belt thing she made me which might work? I also didnt realize how huge the new KB fore arms were and I’m going to just have to roll with it unless it causes me to not get approved.
