Congrats to Dashrazor our New Detachment Leader
bobojuice replied to Darth Aloha's topic in Announcements
Congrats Mason! -
I just wanted to bump this thread real quick to say that I've just started a new guild on Sith Meditation Sphere. We moved from <XFOR> to <X-raided> after all that drama happened, but ended up with new drama with one of the guild's officers. A bunch of members left and some of us have created <Guild> the guild. We've got a vent and a website and are recruiting for raids for anyone interested. Send me a pm or a tell in game. (bobojuice in game)

Helmet undercoating
bobojuice replied to Boba_Skywalker3's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I use t-ball helmet foam pads. You can get the helmets at wallyworld for 5-10 bucks and they've got enough foam for 2+- helmets. I just hot glue them in and I'm done. -
Helmet undercoating

------------"Yah, ya got yer, this loaded here, this has yer independent, uh, yer slipped differential, uh, yer rack-and-pinion steering, yer alarm and radar, and I can give it to ya with a heck of a sealant, this TruCoat stuff, it'll keep the salt off..." I just spray mine with a flat black on the inside. It's mainly for people who troop. The bright white from the inside will allow light to reflect on your face. When a little kid looks up he'll see it, painting the inside black helps prevent this. It's also the reason people put screens behind their frowns. Painting the inside black and screens are in no way accurate, afaik. -
I was able to get up close and personal with one of the guys wearing one back stage at the re-opening of star tours in Orlando. The stuff is really weird. It's definitely made specifically to allow flexibility in movement. These guys can run, jump dance, and pretty much do ANYTHING in their armor. The helmets are really funny looking up close and seem a bit large. The tears on the sides have mesh so they can see. Weirdest thing was looking at the mesh tears and seeing an eyeball looking right at you! All of the folks I saw wearing the suits were Dancer/Performer types. Very strange seeing a Stormtrooper doing Pirouettes at 5 in the morning.

HOWTO: Modifying Armor for Women

Sorry I haven't been able to finish up the remainder of what I had planned for this thread. I'll try and get to it soon. I've been pretty busy lately, and SW:TOR is not helping. -

Sunon helmet fan looks like a good option?

I've found that the best way to keep from fogging is to put a pair of fans behind the frown pulling from the inside and pushing out. No other combination of placement for me has worked so far. For this I use a set of cheap cpu fans I get at compusa. I wire them in a series with 8AA batteries that I place inside the tube area. This allows my fans to run for MONTHS before I even need to think about replacing the batteries. Not to mention they're nowhere near 30db. I would say sticking 30db x 2 in your helmet is going to create quite a bit of noise. I stuck a hard drive cooling fan in my helmet once and it was so freaking loud I couldn't hear anyone! Here's a couple of pics of the fans I use. They're a bit large for the inside of the mouth, but they blow so much air I've had no problems whatsoever with fogging. I think they're 60mm x 10mm. I'll have to check. -------- -
RS Upper Leg (Thigh) build.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing! -
That belt piece doesn't show up when you put your armor on?
-
As much of the details as you can throw in there would be nice.
-
Can you post some more detailed pics of this? I have a whole garter/suspender thing going on, but honestly it kills my back so I'm probably gonna go with the OG way.
-
How you set it up is up to you. On my old suit, all I had was a bit of velcro to keep the belt in place.

These:------------ In a size small fit Olga very well. I would think Isotoners would be too hot. -

Inexpensive TK Gloves for Noobs
bobojuice replied to senna1rossi's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
For Olga's centurion we took a set of small/medium dish washing gloves and painted them with plastidip. I will say though that the plastidip will come off fairly easily, so those gloves are only for show. She troops with a normal set of nomex gloves. -
Setting tool and anvil works the best for me. I use it on a vise mounted to my workbench.
