  1. I wouldn't mind one, but forking over that kind of cash for a blaster would be tough. Been thinking about getting one for Olga though. Perhaps I'll make one.
  2. I have done a costume that requires make-up and know a girl that does a Darth Talon and I will say that sitting for hours doing make-up SUCKS. It also creates an added cost to your costume. Just keep that in mind when deciding.
  3. Do not get a Cushman. I had one, it was garbage. I bought it for a hundred bucks from a buddy. He fixed it up so it actually looked a lot better than most of the ones I've seen. Even then, it still looked like garbage. I got rid of it with my FX gear. I've been dying to get my hands on a doopy one, but they don't ship out to us.
  4. My recommendation is you get a set of gloves for trooping and only use the rubber ones for pictures and stuff like that. Some good nomex gloves will be way more comfortable and definitely keep you cooler.
  5. Yeah someone posted that picture you mentioned to Reddit and it got pretty popular. Nice going, guys.
  6. Done. Also, I translated the page and this was hilarious: If you committed a guideline, a team is Dan solution. Solidify the file as team player, FISD subjected to Foramu
  7. I have tried all kinds of things to stop fogging. Miami has insane humidity so it's a real problem. Nothing, and I mean nothing worked like putting a couple of exhaust fans in front of my mouth.
  8. Unfortunately most of the 501st Legion people who march don't even end up staying at the park. We usually arrive at the park around 6 or 7. From there we wait and wait and wait until we dress up. We march, collect our tickets, then Disney kicks us out. I'd recommend you go on the Florida Garrison Forum: www.fl501st.com instead and find some people in your area.

    Who are we?

I can't stand the word cosplay. It drives me nuts. Every time someone tells me I'm a cosplayer I correct them by telling them I'm a COSTUMER.
  10. I'm gonna try and work on getting that thing finished sometime soon. Maybe this weekend.
  11. No wonder the waiting list is so long.
  12. You know this whole back story idea really lends itself well to the new FIRE TEAM program.
  13. I don't have a back story, but when people ask where I got my armor I always respond with "It's standard Imperial issue, sir/ma'am"
  14. Stay tuned for the skits to come out. Last year I took part in a few of them and I have to say the one with the FISD guys Paul, Hyper and some others was a BLAST! There's pics of it somewhere on here. Really looking forward to doing something like that again.
  15. Olga had a similar problem on her shins where they kept riding up and causing armor bites on the backs of her knees. The solution was to take a simple piece of nylon and sew it into the front of the boot where the pull strap is. I removed the pull strap very carefully and simply sewed a long piece of nylon into it. It was about an inch wide. I then took a strip of industrial velcro and stuck the fuzzy side to that. On the inside of her shins I placed the rougher side of the velcro. This worked amazingly well. I might be able to grab a few shots of this later on to show you.
  16. There's a guy in my Garrison who has been working on one for like five years or something. He's supposedly getting back into it and wants to have it ready for C6. I doubt it, but we'll see.
  17. I think we've gotten everything we can from this thread and I can see that it's starting to head in the wrong direction. I'm going to head it off at the pass and close this up.
  18. I got rid of my suspenders as well. They were giving me a back ache after trooping. I switched to a simple nylon webbing belt with some elastic to hold up the thighs. MUCH more comfortable.
