  1. Sweet, I'll make a point to come by the booth and say Hi!
  2. I fly from Utah on Thursday to get to NY comic con, I will be spending half of my time there working a booth. I won't be wearing any costumes, but I will be bringing my trading cards with me! I'll have my TK and TB cards if anyone would like to trade or just get some from me. So who's going?
  3. If I'm correct there is nothing on the back of the costume, just looks like a black jumpsuit from behind.
  4. the kids version is very obviously Photoshopped. Wonder what the real version looks like?
  5. I wear FX armor with an MTK helmet... they look great together!
  6. Yay, another future trooper saved from the perils of scandalous offers!
  7. Yes! Love me some classic Trek!
  8. You the man Tom!
  9. Don't worry about it too much... I too bought a cheap neckseal that I ended up hating, but it's a pretty insignificant part of the costume once you are all suited up. Just keep your eye out for a better one and you can upgrade later, that's what I did.
  10. Impressive.... most impressive!
  11. Welcome to the Empire TK 5924!
  12. Jesse, add your chip-in information to your first post so others can find it quickly!
  13. Chip in donation sent! We just got a new dog and have had it only for a few days, but I know how quickly they can become family members. I hope everything works out with your puppy!

I agree... as much as I'd like to approach timid children, I wait for them to come to me. Even though I may be smiling at them behind the bucket, all they see is the scary frown.

For Star Wars in Concert, you really don't have to worry about interacting because you are going to be swamped with photos. Basically you'll just stand there and pose while people wait in a huge mob to get a pic with you, at least that was my experience. I usually stay more in character when talking with adults, but with kids I keep it really simple because they are timid and it's easy to scare them. I just high five them and then ask them if they like Star Wars. Sometimes I ask who their favorite character is, or ask if they want to hold my blaster. I too went through a phase where I wanted to interact more and do fun things with people but was worried what they would think of me: Ryan. Then I slowly realized that they'll never know who is behind the mask and that freed me up to be bolder and try more things. The anonymity is actually a very freeing experience once you embrace it.
  16. when there has been dogs at events I've been too, they have been pretty calm and generally not interested in us.
  17. Wow, what an amazing job you've done! And I LOVE the weathering on the blaster!!!!
  18. This is exactly what I did: found some leather scraps, cut it according to plans found online and when I was all done my total cost was $26.
  19. Scissors and then some sanding of the edges afterwords.
  20. Has there been any mention of pricing for these boots yet?
  21. Well, the helmet is accurate even though the stand for it is not!
  22. Pray that someone outbids you on this one because that helmet is the biggest P.O.S. I've ever seen! The brow trim is too thin, it doesn't even have lenses in it, the cutting job on the teeth is horrible and what's up with those mic tips???? They look like twisty caps from bottles, there isn't even any mesh in them at all! Oh and the tube strips are too low as well and have been put on BACKWARDS!!!! Here is a photo of what a real helmet looks like:
  23. Maybe you should just tape a cardboard holder to your chest that holds the cards in it with a little sign above that says "Free: take one"!
