That vent connecting to the backpack is soooo awesome looking... BUT... would be such a pain to troop in. It would definitely restrict the movement of the helmet when you turn your head.
They are starting to pop up on Ebay... they average about $40.

First off, the mods to your pack look awesome!
Secondly, if that is the new HWT in that pic, you can forget about ever being able to move your head wearing that helmet and tube, even though it looks so cool!
Thanks for saying this Tim, it really sums it all up:
"Working on my armor and helping out at events is the bright days of my month where I don't think about any of the problems, family, work."
The pack looks incredible! I too am curious to know how heavy it is. I had a HWT pack that I trooped with and it was only 7 lbs, but after 45 minutes of wearing it, the pain would set in on my shoulders and would be excruciating and I had to get it off.
I guess I just don't understand why this helmet would not be acceptable under any circumstances. A blanket statement denying this helmet makes no sense. Why?
It was mentioned in the most recent newsletter that the Master replica's Collector's edition (MRCE) and the EFX helmet (based of the same moulds as the MRCE) would no longer be acceptable for basic 501st acceptance.
I am wondering why this is? I know that there are little things that need to be done in order to make it more accurate, but I'm confused as to why it would altogether not be accepted, even with mods.
I was approved with my helmet back in 2009. The mods I made were:
-trimmed and raised the brow
-filled in the mouth seam with caulking
-expanded and repainted the teeth
-took off the tube strips and put more accurate ones on.

I've made a pair of TB boots for my biker scout and those don't look anything like them. Plus TB's don't need to wear spandex leggings, they wear a loose jump suit.
