  1. I think it looks fine how you have it.
  2. That's probably good that it doesn't throw flames... I can't really think of a trooping event where you would need that anyways!
  3. That's fantastic.... does it actually throw flames?
  4. Kirby, good to see that you are finding what works for you... congrats on the weight loss.
  5. Happy Birthday Trooper!
  6. He's trying to play the victim, when he is the one who messed up. He should NEVER assume things will be fine once you mail something off!
  7. Looks profesional, you've done a good job.
  8. The difference is that trimmed armor comes with the excess plastic already cut off of each individual armor piece so you can get straight to gluing and assembling. Untrimmed armor means that YOU have to remove the extra plastic yourself before you can begin. The advantage of untrimmed armor is that it can be a more screen accurate set of armor. Untrimmed:
  9. That thing is IDENTICAL to the Master Replicas Collectors Edition, minus the color change of the teeth! Check out the photos on StarWarsHelmets.com. Search here on the forums for any thread regarding modding an MRCE and you'll see exactly how others have dealt with the seams. ---------
  10. So I put together all of my armor using super glue and it worked great, but near the end when I had run out and still needed to glue in snaps for my shoulders to go into, a garrison member recommeded using "Goop". I bought it and used it to glue in my two final snaps... worked great. Well the smell of the glue is just nasty and I've had my armor 1 year now and the smell is not going away! I keep my armor in a tote with all of my other gear: gloves, boots helmet, hoster etc. The smell from the glue on those two snaps is permeating everything. Anyone know how to get rid of the smell? I can tolerate it, I just wonder if people who are standing next to me while taking pictures at events are wondering what that funky, toxic smell is. :Wookiee1:
  11. I wouldn't do it, I'd be too afraid of getting black paint on the outside of the pieces.
  12. Congratulations, nicely done.
  13. John built this for me and did an awesome job. Very creative and its super sturdy! Very comfortable to wear too. Here are some more pics of the final product.
  14. I had a cloth neckseal before this one that I HATED! It fell apart quickly where the velcro was sewn in and the whiskers on my chin and neck balled up the material on the front. This new one is less comfortable, but way cooler looking. I got it a couple sizes bigger than I needed just so it wouldn't be pressed up against all of my neck constantly. One big difference with this one is that the material doesn't absorb any of my sweat like the cloth one did. So all the sweat runs down the neckseal and into my shirt. Gross, I know.
  15. Here is a link to a photo of me wearing mine at last weeks event: My link
  16. I bought this neck seal! It is awesome! For some reason the picture they post on the listing is silver, but what you get is actually black. Yes it is not as comfortable as a cloth neck seal, but it looks great! Let me know if you want to see pictures of me in mine.
  17. Yep, that's what I had to do to.
  18. Pretty much any under armor knock off brand has similar logos in the same exact spots. Trust me, I own 3 different types of shirts, and I've had to take a Sharpie to all of them. <_<
  19. Hey Ryan, those tube stripes are looking mighty low... they should be up near the cheek instead of in the center of the tube. Don't worry, the same thing happened to me. Wasn't until I put them on that I went to starwarshelmets.com and noticed how low I put mine. Looks really good though, nice work!
  20. I'm nearing my 1 year anniversary, but 10 years is mighty impressive!
  21. That's a great looking costume. My son has a Jawa costume (no where near as great looking as yours though) and he often troops with me. It's a great thing to do with your kids in order to spend quality time with them.
  22. Do you believe your weight is higher or lower than that? If you do have a scale that is showing you a lower weight than you really are.... can I have your scale?
