  1. Welcome to FISD. I am working on an AP kit and I am 5 ft.3in. Andy
  2. Oso, I used the Masking Templates for the Tube stripes. In the Video from trooper bay he shows you how to apply the Masking Templates. Also, make sure you use your nail to work out the bubble. Simular to using window decals. Follow Tray's advice to let the paint set for a few days. When I was painting the stripes for both the Traps and the Tube stripes, I followed the advice from Troopebay on brush the stripes from the bottom to halfway up and from the top down. the trick is to make sure to wipe off the excess paint and to have the decal secured on the helmet. I waited 35 to 45 min then I slowley removed the decal. I used Testors Model Masters Paints. I stress highly to watch the videos several times before begining to paint! Also, send email to Mike if you have any last minute questions about using the decals. You will get Great Customer Service Feedback! Andy
  3. Oso, Hi, if you are aming for Centurion go with hand painting the tube stripes and theTraps and Tears. I have ordered the TK Masking Template from Trooperbay and I was very happy with my results. Also you get two sets of masking templates in case of a mistake. Here are some tips that I learned from when I redid my Helmet. Before you begin to paint your Helmet, watch his videos he has on Trooperbay a few times and study it. Have a picture of a Screen Helmet for reference. Keep looking and studying it. After you painted the "Grey" in the traps, Let the paint cure\dry before painting the Black lines inside of the Traps. Pick up some Blue Painters Tape. Make sure you pick up some fine Brushes at "Michaels or Joanne Fabric or a good Hobby Shop. Practice using the Brushes for the Outline of the Traps on a spare piece of plastic. Try not to overload the bursh with paint. After dipping the brush into the paint. Wipe off the excess on the opening. Have plenty of thinner and paper towels to clean the brushes. Make sure you have old newspaper or a cloth so in case of any paint drops or spills. Hve old clothes on as well so you do not mess up any good clothes you have. Buy some latex or plastic gloves so you will not get any paint on your hands. Andy
  4. Robert, Thanks for posting pics of the thigh. This is good for those who are possibly going to order a RS suit in the future. Also, this helps as a guide to those who are working on other vendors of armor. Andy
  5. I got my "Caps" right after "Christmas". From reading this thread the "Original Cylinders " had "Three Caps" between the "Cylinders"? I thought only "Two Caps" are between the "Power Cylinders"? The question I have is, "How many "Caps" shoud I put between my "Cylinders" 2 or 3? Also it looks like I should drill out some holes so the backs of the "Caps" sit in the "metal" like the "Cylinders" does. Am I correct for that? Andy
  6. They may crack over time. I had some fly off and break while they were snapping together. Andy
  7. The specs on the "Brass\Smash Rivits" are "Shaft length is 1/4", shaft dia. is 3/32", head dia. is 7/32" ". The "Rapid\Smash Rivits" and "Brass Split Rivits" side by side together. Here are sme pics with the "Rapid Rivit by the "Thigh Ammo Belt" and on the corner of the"Thigh". Andy
  8. I am ready to begin on working on the "Ab" and "Belt". I ordered and have recieved back in November "Brass Rivit's" for my next step. I asked for help and am thankful for the responses. Before I begin to use these "Brass Split Rivits" on the "Side Ab" and on the "Cod" and these "Brass Smash\Rapid Rivits" on the "Drop Boxes" and the "Thigh Ammo Belt". I am "TRIPPLE CHECKING" by asking , to be sure that I have ordered and recieved the correct size 'Rivits". I ordered these "Rivits" from "Brettuns Village Leather" in Alborn, Maine. http://www.brettunsvillage.com/leather/parts/rivets.htm "Brass Split Rivits. "Rapid\Smash Rivit. The specs on the '1/4' "Brass Split Rivits" are "Brass-plated steel split rivets with a shaft length of 1/4." The shaft is about 1/8" in diameter. The head is 5/16" across. Slightly domed cap." Thanks. Andy
  9. I have a question for the Belt makers and sellers. With the recent discovery from RS of how the TK belt was made out of 6 individual layers of canvas faberic and stiched together, instead of the current "overlap" method . Is anyone going to have this option avaliable for an order? I think this would be a great addition for accuracy! Andy
  10. I ordered the back of my drop boxes from "Quickdesigns" here. Andy
  11. Mark, That is AWESOME! Any plans to "Chrome" a whole suit of Armor? Andy
  12. The plus, is that I can go to the store here and try on the boots and see how they fit. Instead of ordering and paying for shipping if I have to return them in case they do not fit. Another plus is I can look to see if they have sales and % off cupons. Andy
  13. Still trying to find a retailer that sells Loakes here in Pgh on in the U.S.A. I came across these Chelsea Boots online at Sax Fifth Ave. -------- A bit pricy, if they are comfortable might be a shot. I have TKBoots and they fit loose. Besides the price how are these? Andy
