  1. You did very well on the side gaps, I had to do a double take to realize you were a larger trooper One small thing you could change is spreading the drop down boxes to the ends of the belt. Otherwise, excellent build.
  2. If this would be for EIB acceptance, I would not be opposed to slightly over-sized helmets (so long as it is accurate looking,) because there are times when people want to take pics, even though your taking a break, and they wont leave until you put your lid back on... After trying on an accurate helmet, it seems like its better to keep the lid on, as it's difficult to take it on and off.
  3. Go to a local thrift store and buy a use turtle neck shirt. You can then cut out the neck area and that should run you less than $2 dollars.
  4. Want to buy threads are not allowed...
  5. I used spare ABS plastic that came with my FX kit, trimmed it to the size I needed, then heated it up to fit the curve of the leg armor and riveted it in the back.
  6. Billhag, thank you for that method, I never thought of doing it that way. On another note, I need to upgrade my thermal detonator and handguards. Does AP make accurate sized ones?
  7. Is there a way to attach rubber hand plates to gloves other than rubber ones? I like my ABS hand guards, but they are oversized and many times people shake my hand it ends up coming off.
  8. As a person who enjoys the idealistic version of a stormtrooper, I would oppose the idea of rubber handguards only. I prefer handguards that match my armor. Trooping with rubber gloves is not the ideal thing.
  9. Ok it took me a while to figure out what this was for, but now that I'm on the same page... That's genius!
  10. Yep seen that on the 501st forums before. There's also a pic of a stormtrooper in a white Lotus Elise.
  11. How do you manage to get rid of the bump in the eye? Do you use heat to reshape it? Or did it come without a bump? Very nice build.
  12. My ROM/FX finally came in today. Because I do not plan on keeping my FX lid, I will do a temporary install in the chest area. Will post a review in a week or so..
  13. The cap itself won't help much in blocking feedback, you need something like sound deadning foam (like those used in car sounds setups, ex: dynamat) line the inside of the cap with that stuff and cover up the back of the speaker.
  14. You can also get them from Vaderdave. They come individually packed in their own "baggies" so they won't get scratched, come with detailed instructions, and are easy to install & remove should you need to. Cheapest upgrade to any armor kit and makes a world of difference. ----- PS: Those pics don't do them justice. They are really nice and accurate in size and color.
  15. If your not afraid to handle a resin gun (it can break if dropped) then go with makerofthings. He makes nice resin kits that are very accurate. If you want something more sturdy, then keep the hasbro and shoot stomper a pm for a new mag and counter. That's your best bet for under $100. If you can manage to save $225, then checkout sci-fire.com They make hyperfirm rubber guns that do not break, and are lightweight. The best thing to have when trooping in my opinion.
  16. Interesting... I look forward to seeing those concepts.
  17. The mag on the side of the blaster seems too long, and is curving the opposite direction. Also I don't think a printer cartridge can be used as a counter. The front of the e-11 might also be wrong I think. It may need to be rotated 180 degrees. But I'm not sure.
  18. Not a requirement, but if you fill in the screw holes on your blaster, it would look nicer Good job on the costume
  19. Top notch stuff, do I smell a run in the future?
  20. Indeed, but it's easy to search the link using the words in his broken link: golf, scope, tasco
  21. Can break easily if dropped. Much heavier than plastic. Do more research, you'll be glad in the end. Information is readily available, and free. Use it to your advantage
