  1. Some use a heat gun to bend the ABS shoulder straps which makes the plastic brittle therefore will loose its flexibility and more prone to crack. This says it all! Durability "ABS is highly durable with high impact strength. PVC is less durable, as it is designed to be flexible and softer than usual plastics. However, both plastics are resistant to chemical and water degradation."
  2. I assume your talking about AFX type armor which uses actual metal snap buttons as opposed to the screen armor which have molded buttons on a plate, if AFX you can buy the black buttons at a fabric store for a few cents each. Mark (AP)
  3. ABS has a much higher rubber content therefore more durable to impact and a much higher tolerance of flex without cracking or splitting, you can get ABS in any types of shine levels, again there's a reason it's way more expensive than PVC, its a much higher quality plastic! not sure what they mean about temperature swings, they use ABS plastic in the automotive industry not PVC and cars are exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat weather 24/7.
  4. I asked for final payment for all untrimmed orders only since those are shipping first, when I'm close to shipping the trimmed orders and ready to wear you will receive payment notice. Mark (AP)
  5. ABS is much higher quality than PVC and costs twice as much for a reason, those who say otherwise have a lot of learning to do.
  6. Hello everyone, Again sorry for the delay, we just finished the rough trimming today which is trimming every single part off the sheets, we will start shipping this coming Monday, the untrimmed kits will ship first followed by the fully trimmed kits and lastly the ready to wear orders which are being built by a local authorized AP builder who already has the kits in hand. We did many majors changes not just clean up the molds, all leg parts and a few smaller parts are improved, but what set us back quite a bit was the new AB and Kidney plates which are completely new molds, when came the time to form these now much larger parts we ran into major problems and had to reconfigure every single mold on our forming plate to get the proper forming, it was trial and errors with many test pulls to remove all the bugs until I was finally satisfied with the final results. I usually ask for balance when we start forming which takes a week, but my mistake was that I based shipping timing on the old mold set up without anticipating I would run in so many problems. 7. The notches actually have return edges like originals, by not doing any notches and just leave extra flat material people would have to make their own notches, it would look weird to make notches and leave flat material, people would have to fill in the actual notch and make new one at correct place, I mainly did these upgrades to match the movie original, the added material is to accomodate people who are not within movie spec size. The AB plate actually has over 3" extention, so ideally is to leave all material on Ab and trim off the kidney to original size, only if you need more material then you leave whatever you need on the kidney plate.
  8. As promised here are some photos of the new AP updates parts, Improved AB plate, correct seperate kidney/butt plate with "L" notch in kidney plate, optional white rubber hand plates, correct detonator end caps, included accurate mic tips, painted on look decals, inner drop boxes ect... The red lines shows were I added the extra material to accomodate up to a 40" waist size without the need of shimming and affecting the original parts, the extra material can easily be trimmed off to original size or custom fit to your actual waist size for a perfect fit.
  9. very little difference between ANH and ESB since they use refurbished ANH suits for the ESB, completely modified molds were used to create ROTJ suits and differences are very obvious. Mark (AP)
  10. Sorry for the delay, I will post photos of all the new upgrades and new parts by end of this week, new armor parts look amazing!!! Aluminum detonator clips $20 Flexible white rubber hand guards $30
  11. I always laugh when people say "why its so expensive it's only plastic" a sheet of plastic is worthless unless it's shaped into something you desire
  12. A much more complex costume to produce and build because of the design, finishing will require 10 times more work to complete than a OT trooper, example the helmet can't be vacuumformed and because of invisible joining seams on legs/arms the whole suit will require lots of bondo/painting.
  13. The higher the cost usually the more chance it won't slip threw customs since there's a lot of money to be made, with UPS and FEDEX less chance it will slip threw since they have their own brokerage system and every package will be added with brokerage /custom fees. Whenever I order something online I always ask seller to ship via USPS and not UPS or FEDEX, UPS are the worst they have the highest brockerage fees, here in Canada anyways, also I always ask seller to declare package at lesser value, never as "GIFT" 0 value that's a red flag for customs, at least half of actual cost, but this won't happen with Anovos or major companies since they have to declare actual cost for insurance and inventory purpose, in my many years collecting I must have saved thousands in customs fees, I only purchased from vendors that were willing to declare at lesser value, I took my chance for the insurance and I never had a single problem.
  14. For any info you can email me at [email protected] Mark (AP)
  15. nothing beats the classic trooper look, not a fan of the Donald Duck helmet
  16. Some lucky customers will have these AP helmets in time for the premiere ---------------
  17. To trim to original size its very simple, just remove 3" on each side of ab and kidney plate. The new leg parts are now like the movie original which require joining strips on the back as well, before they had a 1" raised lip made for overlapping therefore loosing almost 2" when overlapping, and also when people did the joining strip method they had no choice but to trim off that 1" raised lip therefore reducing all the leg sizes, but now they are flush like the original and you will have more material to work with almost 2 extra inches, so in reality we didn't really add but gained almost 2" by eliminating all those raised lips Mark (AP)
  18. New AP kits now easily fit up to 38" waist full wrap around body without the need of shimming which is the case with most movie derived suits since the original suits were made for slender type bodies, we also extended width on all legs parts, finally bigger framed people can now own a movie derived suit without the need of extra shimming for a seamless authentic look, and the good thing is you can easily trim down to original movie size without affecting the actual parts, plus we added many new upgrades, molds are finally done will post photos or new parts soon! Mark (AP)
  19. A friend had preordered their tie pilot which was delayed many months, its very rare the release date is right on schedule.
  20. oh my you came to the right place to get educated, his armor are recast parts from reputable trooper makers that were in the business way before him, whatever he claims are just lies and further more his helmets are totally off. You can get better and more accurate costume from the vetted list, there's a reason he's not listed on that list. Mark (AP)
  21. actually you should leave some material on each side of the bumps
  22. Kieren Actually the AP helmet has all the same exact distortions as the movie helmets, slight bump on right eye ect... I only smoothed up the back/cap which makes it look more symmetrical Mark (AP)
  23. Working on the new molds non stop, all leg molds are done working on AB and back plate, will have photos in approx. 4 weeks Mark (AP)
