Armor for body type (5' 7", 185lb)
ABS80 replied to Millar007's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
AP has correct left and right shins and many new updates. -
Go ABS as more rubber content in mix way more durable and can take more flex without cracking/splitting.
-
New AP added 2 extra inches to thighs and shin parts, AP has same lineage than TE , we added some extentions without affecting the original look which can be trimmed down to original size or leave the extar material we added to accommodate larger sized people, problem is always the legs and torso and we now resolved that problem, unfortunately we don't sell individual parts. Mark (AP)

yes will definetely post photos when the new parts are ready. Mark (AP)

We are proud to annouce that the new AP armors will now fit a much wider range of body types, we added 3" inches on sides of the AB and Kidney plates for a total of 6" extra inches which will now easily fit up to a 38" waist, we also added 2" inches on the back of all legs parts for a seamless authentic look without the need of shimming, parts can easily be trimmed down to the original size to fit people which are within movie specs, we will also include extra matching white ABS strips in the event you need extra spacing, kit will also include centurion approved painted on look ANH decals, movie accurate mic tips and inner drop boxes, and for centurion build approval we will include all the accurate split and cap rivets, and offer optional ANH rubber hand guards and C02 metal clips. Armor for body type (5' 7", 185lb)

ATA helmet is very different from a AP helmet, though both are derived from screen used helmets they are different in many ways including forming quality, many can attest that including me! Mark (AP) -

Just to make it clear AP did not extend length of the legs or any other parts this would compromise the authenticity of my original molds, I just added extentions to sides of AB/Kidney plates and back of all leg parts, basically added more material in areas were shimming would be required for some. Mark (AP) -
Theres no easy plans, it will cost you easily hundred even thousands not to count hundreds of hours to sculpt your own, if it was so easy everybody would make their own, better off buying available do it yourself kits you will save yourself lots of money and headaches. Mark (AP)

My First Build ANH (Stunt) [AP]
ABS80 replied to StriderNor's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
gaps are normal, actually when I see helmets with almost no gaps its a complete turn off and not movie accurate. Mark (AP) -
if you can find Testors grey 1138 its the equivalent of the humbrol , that's what I use on my helmets.

5'7", 185lbs - armor recommendations?
ABS80 replied to Millar007's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Correct AP armors will now fit a wider range of people, we are extending approx. 2" inches back of thighs and calves and adding 3" on Ab and kidney plate sides for a total of 6 extra inches added to waist line, people can trim it to custom fit their waist size without the need of shimming. AP ANH-S to ESB TK conversion?
ABS80 replied to ComradeDave's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The new AP holsters can be easily converted from ESB to ANH, just remove the 2 loops by unscrewing the chicago screws and cut the leather strips to make ANH version. AP ships kits with ESB holsters because its easier to convert from ESB to ANH than it is from ANH to ESB so people have the choice with my holsters. Mark (AP) -
Large sized AP Armor is ordered!
ABS80 replied to Knockerbot's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Only when I end up with extra parts in stock, the chest and back I might extend the top bridges and maybe the chest sides a little. -
AP (Authenticprops) now available for larger sized trooper with added 3" extentions on both AB and Kidney plates for a total of 6 extra inches! also larger thighs and calves ect...No major altercations to molds just much more material added to work with without the need to add separate shims for a seamless authentic finish, can be easily trimmed down to its original size. AP can now fit a much wider range of people Mark (AP)

Correct, new molds will be done in a few weeks, I'm not modifiying the molds just adding 3" extention on side of AB and Kidney plates for a total of 6" can be trimmed down to original size or left as is for larger trooper, all leg parts will also be bigger Mark (AP) -

Pat, Before drilling or cutting ect.. study my build photos or movie suits photos carefully, your rivets on the ammo knee should be very close to the upper corners yours are way too low, If you need new knee ammo let me know. Mark (AP) -

Keep up the great work, all is looking good and super neat! Mark (AP) -
yes cover strips are too narrow, helmet could sit lower and rubber gloves seem to big for you a tighter fit would look better.

ABS80 replied to Feedback's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
for both the thighs and shins but I can't see how you did the front of your shins, the front strip should be flush , basically you need to remove more material on each side actually same for the all the arm parts. -

ABS80 replied to Feedback's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
For the front leg parts it would look better if you put the strips flush with the raised edges instead of being exposed that much, you can cheat on the back by putting a wider strips to compensate but the front will look weird. -
I don't think the original movie suits had a return edge at all on neck.
