  1. Im getting a link for replacement hand plates, what were you looking at? This is John Danter here on the board (TK8456?), those are sds style hand plates.
  2. Hi i have hand painted this with a brush using enamal paint, as it was looking rather grey next to my other helmets. I think it made a vast improvement to the overall look
  3. Nice screen shot Nathan, and there are 3 holed stunt helmets seen in the film so i say yes Rocko that lid would be a fine esb helmet
  4. Thanks Thayne, its a small collection, but growing
  5. Hi David i use humbrol paint #22 and like the result. With the trim you need to get it from seals direct, US52 for the brow and SWR150 for the neck, although the neck trim is a rounder profile nowadays the original was more square i believe..
  6. Ok for elite status be sure to glue the front on, no visable screws or rivets and leave the back to float free. You can use 2 small pieces of elastic to hold the rear down if you wish, thats optional.
  7. AP esb in top, TE2 anh stunt on left and TE hdpe sandy on the right of picture. Im looking at expanding my small collection of helmets, i need a trooping worthy sandy and would love a rotj next me thinks
  8. Ok so with the excellant ESB sticker run from chazz and mike i wanted to do something with my AP lid as as it sat next to my painted TE and TE2 it was looking greyer than John Major. Something had to be done.. So i peeled off the old stickers and removed the lense and rubber trim and hovis and it was out with the humbrol. Im so impressed by the way this paint makes a helmet look real and used and i wanted all my lids to match too. I also reshaped the sty in the right eye, its still there but alot less pronounced than it used to be. I know for esb they were all but gone but i like the look. I also cut out the teeth some more, just so they were a little larger. After 3 coats of sloppy paint i added the hand details last night and today put on the stickers and rebuilt the rest up.
  9. I tried to place mine so that there was the same area covered front and back when in postition.
  10. Awesome i look forward to seeing your progress, good luck with the build
  11. A continuity error in a StarWars movie? Please say it isnt so....
  12. Wow you really saved that from the graveyard... its amazing what a little filling and painting can do, well done
  13. Awesome thread Nathan i look forward to seeing what you come up with
  14. All the above advice is really great advice. I spent about 2-3 months reading up on everything stormtrooper before i even got my first set of amour and even then when it turned up some of it was a little daunting. Im glad i did all that reading first as when i put my trooper armour together i used all the info as best as i could and i havent had to adjust my suit once yet after trooping in it. So the only advice i would give to you is take onboard what the good people of this site have to offer you, its usually the best advice
  15. Money clips most people use for accuracy or some 1 inch flat bar, riveted in place and bent round the o2 tank and then you just slip the two long parts insode the belt. I use the money clips like this

  19. Hi Kev i think there may be a back log of admin work at the mo, hang on in there and wait for a reply. Are you just trying to join the forums or are you officially aplying for 501 clearance?
  20. Well i suppose that the suits would be anh and esb the only difference being the hand plates and belt/ holster set up, no? (im ignoring helmets here) As we know that no new armour was made from esb, just re-used anh stuff... It would be interesting to hear more from Matt
  21. I would have use #21 gloss black myself but lets hear what others have to say..
  22. Ooh thats looking supre smooth in those pics, im also looking forward to your progress
  23. Now that is cool, looks like a run of elite trading cards is needed...
