  1. The joining strips on my suit are ; All arms 15mm Front of legs 20mm Back of thighs 20mm Back of shins 25mm
  2. Ok i have had a little break from building anything but am now back on track, so let the armour chronicles continue.. We shall call this phase 2 , ESB. I did get the ESB stunt kit from TM but as i was previously in a hurry to get trooping in my new armour so i used my Dan Laws ANH stunt helmet and latex rubber glove combo from PugMan. I have trimmed my ESB snow trooper style hand plates and here they are with rubber gloves. I may get some silk gloves in the future, im not sure yet. I was also very lucky to have the company of Pete aka StukaTrooper over last night and he graciously offered to help re-assemble my TM helmet. I had already put this together but was not happy with the look. You see i have opted for the rarer looking low brow, hero style seen in ESB with only 3 teeth cut out. I like to be different Pete did an awesome job reworking the helmet while i polished off the sandwiches.. I have found the TM helmet one of the hardest to build up because there are not any trim lines on the ears to work along. But Pete's model skills shinned through here. The outcome is very nice, thanks you Pete. I have added the decals from Mike TK4510, which are the most accurate made to date and the hovi mic tips and painted the frown and vocoder and still have to add the lense, neck trim and paint the ears.
  3. Awesome i look forward to seeing your progress Nate
  4. Ive been after a latex version of these hand plates for well over a year now.... still waiting
  5. Just bumping this thread to see how you are doing Nate? I am working on my ESB TM this week, so where are you at?
  6. Mmm im not sure about the rtm armour, i have not seen a lot of it in person, not to study and way.. This does not seem to be too prominent an i am wondering whether you should leave it soh's not to make a mess of things? Lets see what others have to say, preferably someone who has owned a set..
  7. It looks great Paul i think i need to be on that list
  8. I cant wait to see more of this Paul, it looks amazing.. as ever!!
  9. Nice 1 Scott, how does this compare to your sds suit?
  10. Brian Muir stuck his thumb there for fun, who knows
  11. Nice 1 Joey
  12. You are joking here, right? Or did you miss the case last year Lucasfilm v SDS? And LFL has sent out C&D to other armour makers in the past..
  13. Most of the questions yourself and 100 other newbies ask is available here in one form or another, i know people say it all the time and some people think we are being rude.. but read, read, read and then read some more before buying armour If you take 5 mins to browse the main 501st site there is a quick question and answer session and this is one of the more popular amongst them here. Where do you get those costumes? Our costumes are the result of careful research, fabrication and a lot of hard work. The majority of our costume components are hand built and assembled in our spare time. Given that the likenesses portrayed by these costumes are the intellectual property of Lucasfilm, it must be stressed that the 501st Legion does not provide or manufacture costumes for purchase. This is a sticky issue and 1 we are trying to come to an aggrement over like Paul said
  14. Great news Mike i look forward to seeing these. ps i need another set of esb decals
  15. Well i guess you need to decide if you are going to hand paint the details or go for decals to finish the outside.. and for the inside i always go for the sparse screen accurate interior with a simply star shaped piece of foam, green acetate for the lens and sometimes a chin strap. Thats about all you will see in my helmets ------
  16. At the moment Manny i believe if you upgrade to another costume for accuracy sake we just ask for you to post updated photos out of courtesy so that you wont loose your status. If you still have the costume that you gained status with you are fine, but if you first sell the costume and there is a gap in armour ownership the above rules will apply
  17. Nice pics, those last few with the belly dancers, looks like you raided Jaba's palace
  18. Nice lid, i need a rotj to add to my collection I look forward to seeing your progress..
  19. Do you have shares in T-Cut Pete?
  20. Have you got any pictures of what your on about? A picture says a thousand words, so they say
  21. The mic tips are a found item, but nobody knows what they were.. they look like this. If you want a set of the best reproduction hovi's see Keith or stomper
  22. Thats what i am here for but i am sure that any newbie could send a pm to any member here and get the low down on the various sellers. I think the way the site is set out at the moment seperating the different movie styles works well. Everything is contained in the relevant area for quick reference. I will look into adding a section or thread on how to improve the fx armour. After a little research you soon find out what you can do to make the standard fx look better. This infomation is available to cleared members in the 501st section. This may seem odd for some people who are new to the legion but this falls in line with the legion charter.
