  1. Terry this is very intersting and i see at least 1 person i know who is already going, can you pm me the details please?
  2. Hey when you get a moment stop by at the UKG, leather belts are very popular
  3. I think fx or rt mod will suit you fine. Here i am with TK 4999 at CE, im in mufti's, he is about 6'6 and prob the tallest trooper i have met ---------
  4. Damn right thats good for clearance Derek
  5. No not more cod piece Q?'s.. lol Er, its all held in pretty tight in that area, you dont want to let it hang down low like a skateboarder here...
  6. Looks to me like an early Marco helmet, or a copy of one at least. Man where have i been, i am going straight to the hardware store to get some black stuff with drill holes for my lenses. What was i thinking using thin green acetate all these years? I will just get someone to photoshop those after an event, just like they did in the films... Do you think all the helmets in the archives have 20 C Film Corp carved into the back and cap?
  7. Ditch the black buttons man Humbrol # 5 for the grey. #14 for the blue
  8. Your, Sir, are the Trooper Master Thanks Paul.
  9. Myself and Pete have been looking for these snaps everywhere with no luck. I know you know where to get them as i have seen them on your armour
  10. I have put the snaps direct through the armour, which seems to be screen accurate
  11. Hi Alan fx helmet' are acceptable for 501st membership but they are deemed too un-accurate for the next level which is EIB status. If you are looking to upgrade your lid to something more accurate there are plenty to choose from. AP, TE, TE2, TM, ATA, RT, GINO, DL the list goes on and on.. I would take your time and have a good read here i think there will be a thread to give the low down on all the helmets i just mentioned here, another good place is starwarshelmets.com Research, research and more research before you buy
  12. Probably pretty much like they do in the picture
  13. There is a right way up, post a picture and we will tell you
  14. Is this painted correctly for 501st clearance a quick yes or no please?
  15. Thigh stripes or no thigh stripes that is the question?
  16. Im glad you got everything Greg, and Billy has the right idea, thats how i attach my holster to belt for easy removal for transporting your gear
  17. I would worry about paint, strapping, snaps and all that later on nearer the time. There are a ton of info on building up armour and helmets here, just take your time and start on the easy things first. Check everything over and one piece at a time using a pencil look at your ref pics and mark where you think you want to trim things. Some items will most likely have trim marks molded into the armour and some things will have to be trimmed to fit you specifically. And dont worry if in any doubt post up pictures of what you are about to cut and ask for help, im sure you will get a lot of it. Good luck and enjoy it
  18. A little tip; If you are using snaps to connect parts together that normally do not need to come apart, put a drop of hot glue inside the snap before you close it and then it will not pop undone unexpectedly, but you can open them up again if needed
  19. Matt aka TE said there was only one side with the tumb print but i am sure Brian Muir said it was on both sides. I have tried to find where he answered this question... Im sure TM aka Paul will know one way or the other for sure
  20. Ok the helmet liner and lens are in, lets call this helmet finished And here is the belt finished with the drop boxes attached. You see once again i used 1 inch white elastic just as i did with my ANH set up, with the elastic looped over the belt and riveted to the drop boxes. The leather holster is just looped over the belt on the right hip for ESB, unlike ANH where it is riveted to the underside of the belt on the left The last photos show all you need to convert your ANH armour over to ESB..
  21. Ok i have been working on my new belt for the ESB suit over the last couple of days. Here is is just before i riveted the plastic ammo part to the canvas belt I have also repainted the frown and vocoder on the helmet as i didn't like the matte paint i tried. This time it is satin. I also detailed the ears and neck trim. All i need to do to this now is add the lens and foam liner. Oh and paint the screws white.. Here is the belt riveted together and with and without the rivet covers glued on. I will work on the drop boxes later. Remember this kit comes with separate rivet covers and ab plate buttons, so be sure not to get them confused
  22. Happy birthday FISD
  23. I always start with the arms for some reason??? Nice going so far
