  1. I have my body armour laying on the floor with the left side put together and the left shoulder connected. I step into the suit like a jacket, then do up the right side shoulder strap, connect the cod piece between my crotch and jobs done. On in one go. The picture you have psted there terry looks more like a clone trooper set up.
  2. I have found the closest looking rivets are jeans rivets. These are in 2 pieces not the usual 1 piece pop rivets.
  3. The top picture shows where the armour is rivited together on the left side of the body. The bottome picture shows the right side of the armour which opens for you to 'step' inside the armour and the single snap to hold the side closed in the clamshell style. The single snap on the right side of the body is facing inwards to the body with the snap holding it together on the inside.
  4. Im not saying i wont back up everyone here and accept the staff decision. Its a tough one for sure. I would just put on your mod hat and remind the individual that we do not condone recasting, in public to show people what we think. We need solidarity and to make sure the casual reader can see where we are coming from. Deleting threads and banning builds is a form of denial. We know it goes on and we should take the moral high ground. Is that possible? Cheap recast armour is available readily and some will always take the easy path. Maybe we should have a section of the forum purely for recasters work, now that would be interesting, It would be like a name and shame hall of fame, would they dare post build threads if everyone was going to see exactly what they were up to?
  5. I can see the reasons for wanting to ban the pt threads, but at the end of the day it gets dark. Sorry i mean we are here to help our 501st and potential 501st put their stuff together. So it will still find its way into conversation, and these boards... If you keep it hushed and out of the way it is still going to be out there. Again im just trying to be rational about this and not side with those taking the juice as of late. By banning the subject you are not going to take back what has been done. If we are open about everything and keep everyone informed hopefully people will do the right thing. But you know human nature, if X Y Z costs 800 bananas and A B C only costs 300 you know the rest
  6. In my armour the rivets and snaps are just for show, (but dont tell anyone i told you so). On the original armour there is a female snap on a short length of elastic glued into the rear part of the armour that closes the armour in the clam shell style
  7. A pic of my internal strapping The armour body showing the rivets I have glued on the shoulder straps, with the armour internally strapped
  8. Blue milk!
  9. Members costumes are cleared on their merit and quality of build and what they look like compared to the character they portray and not on the specific maker or brand. The best armour available could be built really badly and not be passed, and visa verse a lesser set of armour could be put together very well and be passed. If you get my meaning..
  10. Personally i would say no, you can find more accurate boots out there. But i would check this with your GML to be safe, as different garrisons have different standards if you get my meaning
  11. I have 3 weapons in my arsenal, the DLT-19, E-11 and SE-14R. I use different blasters for different events, to suit my mood and some times which ever takes my fancy.. Armour is a very personal thing, have a read and ask any and as many qeustions as you like before you buy, read thrice and spend once
  12. Different armours on different troopers need different widths. Make sure you make your suit fit you. The size of the strip is not set in stone, remember the original suits were made to fit thin extras... One way to get round having a big wide strip is to make the front strip smaller and have a slightly bigger one at the rear, as not so many people will look at your rear.. I think on my TE2 set i made the font strip 1 inch wide to fit my legs, but my TM i can get away with 20mm wide strips.
  13. Very helpful, cheers Billy
