  1. Troop 2: Adopt -A - School fundraiser. Oct 1, 2022 Money donated to help support a local school. Troop was in a book store that has been running this campaign for the past 3 months. Each store sponsors a school. As usual, lots of smiles from both kids and especially parents.
  2. Thanks Glen. Updated. I think had an older list that didn’t have those items on it.

  4. Congratulations. Welcome to the FISD!
  5. Welcome Brad. Great to have you here. Looking forward to seeing you get your costume
  6. Awesome. Open the blaster and run around the house going pew pew pew. I think we all did it at some point
  7. Very cool build. I am very intrigued about possibly going for this as my next build after seeing yours.
  8. Welcome Paige. Best of luck on your build. It will be a blast.
  9. I was where you are now about 1 year ago Allan. Glen’s link above is the perfect place to start. Lots of great people to help you along your journey.
  10. Permission granted to use photos on social media appropriately Troop 1: Hamilton Comicon Sept 25, 2022 Off to an early start, I kitted up for my first big event. Once I got to the con floor, I met up with Lord Vader. We posed for many photos with the locals. Soon enough, we were ambushed by rebel scum, who managed to capture one of our pilots. Lord Vader and myself recruited a Doctor. Who he is, I wasn’t sure, but his strange craft could move us through time and space. We soon arrived at some time in the future where we encountered a new type of stormtrooper. Together, we mounted an assault on the rebels. The battle was fierce with many casualties. We managed with sheer determination to capture one of their droids. Little did we know, this droid was somewhat of a celebrity. Once back home in our correct time, we took a moment for photos with friends All this to raise money for a great cause - Ronald McDonald House. ‘’Trooper TK-96004 signing off.
  11. Yes, I read the entire guide as soon as I had access to the 501st forum. Thank you for the advice. I will make sure to stay hydrated. I know how much you sweat. Just kitting up for my approval photos pretty much soaked me. LOL
  12. So tomorrow is the big day, going on my first troop at a local Comic-Con.. so excited. I signed up to be a range target as well for the blast a trooper. Made a few last minute modifications to the armour today. Replaced the 4 12 V fans and power supply which were not blowing well due to the power supply only putting out 5 W. I now have 2 6 volt fans powered by 4 AA batteries with on /off toggles for each fan. More room in the helmet now that the power bank is out. Will be buying rechargeable batteries soon. Switched the nylon straps between the kidney and back plates for elastic ones and made new shoulder bridge elastics that are slightly shorter to bring the back piece up and closer to my back. This worked well and I finally felt comfortable to trim the big tabs off of the back of the shoulder bridges. polished up the kit and packed it all up for tomorrow morning’s early start.
  13. I had the exact same issue with my AP armour as well. I glued a small scrap piece of ABS along the raised edge to bring the pieces together, then made the mobility cut up to the raised edge. There may be a small gap, but you can fill that with ABS paste The raised edge is pretty thin in the middle.
  14. Very nice work as usual. Your attention to detail is amazing
  15. Well, I finally got to fulfill my life long dream of becoming a stormtrooper. Thank you to all of the amazing FISD members who helped me along this journey. I can’t wait to get out trooping and hope to one day meet some of you.
  16. I have been getting the same shipping scam emails for the past couple of months. They are a pain when you are actually waiting for something.
