  7. I have a piece of foam that I tuck into my undersuit at the front of the knee, it works well and stays in place because the undersuit is tight.

  13. I use a mini lightsaber to seal the ends. LOL. Overkill but very fun
  14. I also had some trouble getting the bolts to hold. I ended up using some zap a gap to hold the bolts in place that broke out of the sugru. I am currently mounting lenses into my death trooper helmet and instead of just using the Sugru, I used Zap a Gap to first glue the bolts in place, then embedded the bases of the bolts in plastic weld epoxy, then will apply the Sugru to give the lens something to rest against.
  15. Hi Sean. Welcome. Looking forward to seeing your build.

  18. I went with an untrimmed kit. I wanted to ensure that everything fit well and wanted to experience the start to finish process. I have seen both sides of the pre made kits with some very poorly fitting when they arrived and essentially had to be rebuilt and some pretty close to right on. The trimming is not too hard. I used lexan scissors to cut the basic trim, then I used a belt sander for the bulk of the closer trimming. A Dremel or rotary tool is also very helpful for smaller detail areas. Needle files are pretty critical for the teeth on the helmet. For polishing , I use 1000, then 2000 grit wet sanding blocks if there are scratches, then follow with the Novus number 2 polish from Trooperbay, then Meguires Plastix for the final. For light scuffs, the Novus alone works well.
  19. Yes. This is a great choice, you won’t be disappointed. Being the most iconic variant of the bunch, it makes it a bit easier to find good references for I found. I went with Authentic Props. I did this for a couple of reasons. I am a bit of a “Husky trooper”, so Mark’s kit allows for a bigger mid section. With your height, I would double check to make sure it will work for you. The other huge factor is that he is in Quebec, so shipping was very simple for me living in southern Ontario.
  20. You are doing a great job on this.
  21. Hi Paolo, Welcome to the FISD. I am only an hour away from you and am more than happy to help with anything you need. ‘Looking forward to trooping with you in the future.
  22. Hi Rebecca. Welcome to the forum. We all know how much work goes into cosplay costuming and you should always be proud of the time and effort you put into the costume. Even though you are not going for 501st approval, I am sure you will still have a great costume to show off. Looking forward to seeing some pics.
  23. Looks good to me as well
