  1. There you go. I quickly put my helmet together for the pix .. don't know what's wrong with the right ear gap .. normally, there shouldn't be that much.
  2. Good job on the E11 ... Maybe someone can help. I'm currently building my own E11 and I was wondering what was the exact width, thickness and length of the track on which the scope is attached. Is it metal or plastic? Also, are these hex screws holding the scope to the bar? I want to know if the one I got is accurate or not and never found that information anywhere ... Thanks for the info, Al
  3. It's even worst now .. just tried it, don't even have access to My Albums link. Admins? Any news for us?
  4. I painted only one black stripe on each side ... Reason is simple, I hand painted them and wanted to reduce the odds of messing up!
  5. Yes ... Definitely under line A for a starter. Let me know if you want even more pics of this .. I could post mines too to complement Bernard's.
  6. These are both the same thread .. you should lock one or the other: http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1706
  7. Well, you've already seen that, but I thought I'd share with everyone. The first thing you must do is cut until you reach a point where your ears are just the U shape of it. I mean, to remove just enough plastic to not see the flat part of mold. Just the curvy part (see pic below). It's really a rough first cut, but it will gave the basic shape. From there, try it, trim plastic that touches the helmet, try, trim, etc... You'll see on the pics I took of my bucket that the ear fitting is really nicely done. It's just because I took my time doing it. Again, the screen accurate weren't trim so nicely .. they were pretty bad actually so don't worry too much. This is the most time consuming part to trim & fit, but it's not hard to do, just trim, fit until you get proper results. End results should look like the second photo. Note that this is the picture's owner is AP.
  8. That's what I wanted to do too .. but the knee just wouldn't fit properly and if I was to rivet it on the upper lip on both side, the thing would have been so wrongly aligned .. it would have looked terrible. Ended up like it is now, see my knee pad thread
  9. Wow .. can't believe it .. was that an AP lid you had with the FX armor? You'll like the AP Oh, and let me know about your knee pad fitting .. that piece is still a mystery to me!
  10. 6'3'' 190lbs here .. AP all the way .. you can see some of my build in progress pix in my album here: ----------- I can't wait to update you guys with my final suit, probably up to the Elite standards .. before Halloween of course!
  11. I'm curious to know how many of you guys actually have snaps under your belt and through your abs plastic? I had no idea people were doing that .. will this weaken the abs in any way or crack in the long run?!?
  12. You're right, I retract my verdict since I didn't see you were from Germany! Go TM .. I know I would have if I were from the European continent! Or the SDS from John!
  13. Hi! If you use the search above, you'll be able to look up plenty of threads that threats exactly this subject. It seems to be THE question lately. These threads are all about armor size with guys around your size too: http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1514 http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1630 http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1676 Oh, and from what you're describing, the verdict shall be AP without much doubt Look around, and PM when you want contact detail
  14. In the AP kit, the neck trim is the same rubber as the "above-the-eyes" rubber. Is this the same thing on the original helmets? In any case, I'd be interested in 6 feet too.
  15. Well I have to admit that I don't totally see what you mean. Are you saying that you've removed the knee piece upper lip completely so that you were able to twist the plastic more in proper position? It's frustrating trying to explain something about that piece since there's no term and so much curve in it that you're never too sure what word to use .. Anyway, for now, they're fixed! Holes have been made etc .. so I'm not taking it off Gotta be done for Halloween and I'm lagging behind right now! Thanks for the tip though
  16. Actually, for those who wouldn't know, a new AP armor can only be ordered from AP. Just like a new RT-Mod who can only be ordered from Rob directly. It's not like the FX armor which is available from a lot of different sources. Thought I would specify it
  17. Funny! This will go as wallpaper at work
  18. Here's a different set of Hovi's. I think these are available now: -----------
  19. You can also see this thread for more answers: http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1514
  20. Really nice work Paul .. Out of curiosity, will you sell these too? I can't imagine if life wouldn't have gotten in the way
  21. John, I wanted to try this, but I figure that by having foam all around the fan, no air would be found behind the fan thus, not being able to push any. Am I wrong in my assumptions?
  22. Well, AP comes untrimmed and unassembled. FX is already trimmed, so is RT and TM if I remember correctly. Unless you are in the UK, scratch TM from his list as he's looking for a cheaper solution .. That leaves RT, AP and FX. Last time I asked RT his price, I think it was 725$USD + shipping, AP is around 850$, FX can go as low as 500$. In order for this guy, considering size and $$, I'd go: RT altough bigger fit then AP, less $$$, already trimmed AP smaller fit, more $$$ but a more screen accurate FX cheap, trimmed, big head (which is one of his no-no argument) In any case, you gotta assemble, but for me, trimming and assembling was just like a giant model kit, gotta love it!
  23. Well, I've had no answers for this, which surely surprises me .. but I'm still updating with pics of what I came up with. Ok, before any of you think I should have put it more up on the inner side, or more in front on the outer side, let me tell you that this piece seriously didn't fit my thigh piece! If I would have wanted to place it higher on the inner side, it would have been seriously inclined in a front view as the inner top border was much higher then the outer one (all AP kits are supposed to be made that way) If I wanted to rivet it on the top outer border, it would have been misaligned in front view (left-right balance). So afterm SERIOUSLY, a few months of looking at this piece, I finally came up with a screen cap of a knee pad riveted not on the top border, but like I did, I tried this, and saw that this would work (although it makes my inner alignment lower .. but at this point I don't care, my armor is getting quite nice, and this won't change a thing when I'll finaly show it to you guys So I'd still like to get your opinion on this, is this affecting anything?
  24. Well my friend, you're exactly the right frame for any screen accurate armor. Even though you're not into screen accuracy, I'd definitely go for AP (Canada), RT(Canada) or TM (if you're in UK). The FX might actually look bubble head on you since you're not so tall. As for the helmet floating around, you will find a lot of threads here to fix this. In most case, although not screen accurate, people tends to go the hard hat liner way to have a good solid fit. With my AP, I have black foam that I manually placed where I needed it since the helmet is much smaller. Still fits really well on my head. To be able to build the armor, you certainly need more patience and time then talent, sure it helps, but I've never heard of someone completely messing up his armor from a lack of craftsmanship. Take your time, read a lot our threads and choose your armor wisely
