  1. Here's what I just came up with from looking around at the pictures. I just wanted some kind of tight pocket to put the cell in and the screen was all I had Then, it was moving too much, so I just took some extra padding I had (from my helmet padding) to squeeze it into position. I can even close the KRZR over the screen mesh to be able to open it without taking it out of the box .. pretty clever I thought But then, I'd have to be able to get that box to my ear first .. Urrg .. not that clever I glued everything with hot glue.
  2. Guys, I got this link for the Riddell helmet .. ------- I thought the pictures were pretty nice: http://www.sandtroopers.com/julian/riddell/storm0proto.jpg http://www.sandtroopers.com/julian/riddell/storm1print.jpg http://www.sandtroopers.com/julian/riddell/storm4.jpg http://www.sandtroopers.com/julian/riddell/storm5.jpg
  3. Oh, I didn't realize that this was some kind of business model in the long run or anything. In any case, let us know if you ever produce the pieces for us to build around them! That would definitely be my way to go and your parts would add a nice touch to my current setting (urr eventual setting).
  4. Urrrg .. I'm sorry, still doesn't work! - I can access the "My Albums" link in the top bar - I can't access the "Your Albums" in my Control Panel (Sorry, the board administrator has not enabled your permissions for this part of the control panel.) - I can Add Image but they don't show up Thanks for your help!
  5. Hey dude, what about if we just want the molded parts? Would you do that, I already have all black wires and fans and romfx and the rest? I'm pretty sure a lot of people might be interested in this too
  6. Well, it must have been mixed up in the server move .. lmk when you guys move it! Thanks
  7. Well, weekly bump on this ... Do we still have admins for these things? I can't believe this wouldn't be fixed by now and I'm stuck not being able to upload photos ... or with attachments hitting the 500k way to quickly .. Help!
  8. Resurecting my old thread Well, I decided to finish my armor .. and never got around to do my knee .. and I'm just tired of looking at it, trying to fgind a way, putting it back away and then trying again .. that's been going on for the past 6 months! So here I am .. I still haven't gotten a heat gun but Curtis's thread helped me figuring it out. Now, what I think is that the AP kits is different from one to the other, aren't they all anyway? I stumbled upon these picture. In the first one, the knee plate is supported with rivets UNDER the top bar, beside the squared boxes (while the other uses plastic wraps. Anyone tried that? I just had to make my mind that I can't fit my knee pad properly by riveting it on the top border/bar, I'll have to find another way. So my question is, is the knee attachment method important to be canon? Or there was just soo many ways the armor was built up on screen that whatever where the rivets are, it's always gonna be good?
  9. I got mine at my local fabric store - called Fabricville here. They had all sizes and they're pretty cheap too .. around a buck each IIRC!
  10. Rob, Montrealers here, glad to see another canadian on board! First, I'd like to say thanks for the history, simple, quick and felt very honest and straight forward in your response. I had contacted Rob one year ago after having seen his stuff on Jez's site. That had got me all excited and proud knowing a fellow canadian fan was building his own sculpt. I still ended up with an AP (as AP is 25 minutes from my place and could have it in a matter of days while I knew Rob had quite a waiting list at that time ) .. but I always like the feel of the RT-MOD suit! Not to say I always wondered how his suit would have fit my 6'3 190lbs frame. Certainly a little better then the AP, but again, I so love my AP Can't wait to completely finish it and send you guys pictures!
  11. Seriously .. this is soooo interesting. I've been reading around these boards for over a year now, and never, EVER, have seen so much detailed information concentrated in the same thread. Keep on posting for history... Keep on flamming for entertainment... I'm all ears!
  12. Gotcha! Thanks for the clarification
  13. Paul, I was sure that all 501st had the little sign on the lower corner of their shoulder bell (not too sure what it is though as I'be never seen one in close shot) .. I thought this was part of showing up in public or something? Did I dream of this?
  14. Are we talking about the sticker you guys have on your shoulder bells? Or just sticker to put on your car bumper right between the "I climbed Mount Washington" and the "Jesus lovers you"?
  15. 6'3" 190lbs here. AP suits A little bit of black around joints but the overall fit is pretty good! I love it! See my gallery for pictures I think the RT-Mod kit might fit a little better on a bigger frame though .. correct me if I'm wrong!
  16. Thanks for the pix Curtis, I couldn't find one of the front though. Because if I end up being able to twist my knee pad enough here to look like yours on both side, the face view shows it not properly straight. I'll go get some pictures.
  17. Here's some pic of mine. AP TD, grey in spray and banker's clip PS Sorry it's late and I had to improvise the lighting
  18. I won't say it often, but you really did a good job on your armor man! You really got those details straight! Well done!

  20. Hey guys, I thought I'd start a thread here about Master Replicas big sales currently going on. Everybody knows they're losing their license, now, it currently Forum Fun Months and Master Replicas, or Amy, started announcing coupons to be able to sell, and sell fast, their current Star Wars inventory... I thought I'd share because even though I'm an MR collector, I never was really in the bucket collecting, more in the Props, sabers and others, until about just now ... Here's a few coupon that they announced lately .. I know so are already expired, but at least, it's gonna give you an idea of what they're doing .. and for me, I just didn't have the choice and I've ordered one of everything. So let's not lose anymore time :: Han Solo ANH Elite Edition :: price 650$ with HAN399(250$) coupon, 399$ (coupon & helmet still available) :: 212th Clone Trooper Limited Edition :: price 399$ CS member will have their 10% over that 359$ with FRM212(200$) coupon, 159$ (coupon available until last night, helmet still available) :: Vader ROTS helmet Limited Edition :: price 899$ CS member will have their 10% over that 809$ with FRMVADER(400$) coupon, 459$ (coupon still available, helmet sold out within a day last week end) So I know, for now, the lids are gone, but there will be a lot more coupon and I'll keep updating this thread for more, so stay tuned! I'd also like to say that if you're not CS member, it cost 50$ to be, plus they send you a free scaled lightsaber (which you can resell for 40$) and with all the coupons coming out this month, and for all its forth, until they sell everything, it will be worth buying! Cheers, Al
  21. Curtis, After more than a few months, I still didn't fix my knee pad, I can't figure how to do this since it just won't fit properly on my AP shin. Is it possible to show both side of your finished and attached knee plate. I'm curious to see how you managed to make it fit correctly as I can't seem to do it here? Thanks, Al
  22. John, I had the same problem on my AP armor. I aligned the front perfectly first, and then, I trimmed the back flush. It doesn't even show now!
  23. Same goes here, I predrilled the AP ear holes first, then realized it was a little too low, I only drilled a new set in the bottom/under holes to get the back higher, and that gives what you see in my avatar / gallery. In the end, I really didn't care about the 2nd set of holes it just look perfect to me
  24. Reason #1 for staying away from gluing both seems on ANY piece: Displaying the thing on a mannequin! If I'd glue both, I wouldn't be able to fit the arms on my mannequin since its elbows are at 90 degrees! Don't underestimate the mannequin!
