Welcome to the FISD, Dan. It can all seem daunting at first, but it is not as difficult as it might look. I think you will find yourself a very satisfying hobby at the end of the day. You will also learn to better manufacture "alternate facts" for the benefit of your wife and your marriage.

If you are not going for any particular character, then I don’t think it matters. I built the “stop that ship” bucket and that one happens to have 13 stripes per side. The CRL calls for between 9 and 16 per side. Here’s mine. This one isn’t an Anon bucket (I have one on order though). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anon buckets are very nice - it will make a fantastic sandy. Now... get it dirty. Nice job!

Congrats trooper! Welcome to the ranks.

Looks good to me. A little tip - try turning your flash on. As many of the reference pics use a flash - using yours will highlight the return edges in the same way the reference pics do. I found this especially helpful when finishing my helmet. You might have to back away from the helmet when taking the picture and then digitally zoom in the photo to get the same look. Keep up the good work!

Looking good. You could take a bit more off. Here are some images for inspiration:

It does look better. Try opening the window blinds and taking the pictures facing the opposite direction. My old-man eyes are struggling. Be wary of using that particular reference image - the "stop that ship" helmet has a particularly high brow and I believe the faceplate is slightly recessed compared to others.

I'm starting to think this is common for all modern/Disney-era troopers - there are a few pic of Deathtroopers where I'm pretty sure you can see the same system.
