The positioning looks pretty close. Trimming the bottom return edge will allow for easier adjustments when you heat it up. The trick that worked for me is to get it to fit as best you can by heating it up and shaping - then glue one side and let cure for about 48 hours (assuming E6000 is being used). Then grab a bunch of clamps and glue the other side... it will take some persuasion. Looking good!

You can trim off more (a little towards the back and a bit more towards the front). Take a little bit at a time - a couple of mm can make the difference. Some of the screen used buckets had quite a bit shaved off the bottom, so you should have no issues.

That behind the scenes bit of the Mandalorian was brilliant - it's awesome when the film makers refer to the 501st members as "real" stormtroopers. You shouldn't need to use elastic on the forearm - just size it so you can just get your hand through. I have narrow wrists too - the gloves help fill the space. The top edges are like that. You can leave it as is or trim them even once the coverstrips are on - check out the gallery for examples of screen used costumes. Yes, if you want to lose the return edge on the top of the forearms then go for it. As long as you are somewhat consistent with return edge, the amount of return edge is a personal preference or comfort thing (except for the wrist, there should be no return edge there). Return edge on the torso pieces are necessary for functional reasons (keep back and kidney from overlapping, using the bracket system if desired, etc). Minor scuffing is screen accurate. You should be fine. Post some pics when in doubt. Oh, try embedding the pics right into the post - it makes it easier for people to see and comment. Good luck, trooper! Oh, are you using CA glue? I highly recommend E-6000 instead.

Most use the split rivets to hold the strapping in place. Some add fancy snap systems to it as well - the interior strapping is really up to the person as long as it looks accurate from the outside. That said, there are some tried and true methods that work very well. Check out the build section and go through some of the builds if you have not yet done so. I think it looks good. It might be a tad large on you, but a bit of padding will fix that. Bending the ab or kidney anymore will likely cause further issues with the return edge around the top. That can be a pain in the a$$ to flatten out. Also, once you put on the arms, the mid section will not seem as large. The only issue you might have is the right seam on the ab to kidney - it will want to overlap when you tighten the belt. You can make a tab and slot connection on the inside to keep everything in place. I can send some pictures if you need. Keep up the great work!

Welcome to the FISD, Dylan. There is a lot of info to go through and it can seem like a lot at first, but it will start making sense soon enough. Take your time - read some of the builds in the build section to see how others have tackled these kits. As mentioned above, ask lots of questions... when it comes to stormtroopers, there are no stupid questions here. Most of all, have fun - enjoy the journey.

I think AP is a bit large around the mid section and the right forearm can be funny to fit. I had to do the same on my TD build to make it fit better and look more screen accurate on me. The sizing is probably great for an average body Shape.

Welcome to the FISD, Chris. The boss absolutely needs some quality protection flanking his side. Keep in mind that the ROTJ TK is a bit different than the ANH or ESB TK - if you are trying to match movies. Not that any of us suffer from that sort of OCD.

Welcome to the FISD and congrats on the purchase! Where are you in Western Canada? If you are in Alberta, Sask, Manitoba, NWT, or Yukon - be sure to reach out to the Badlands Garrison. BC is the Outer Rim Garrison. Look up Geeky Pink's Phantastic Gaskets for a neck seal - she is located in western Canada (AB) and makes great stuff.

Yes, that is an issue. You need to get the piece hot enough for the return edge to bend too. My return edge didn't crack but it did buckle on me. I had to use a heat gun and a couple pieces of wood to flatten them out (heat up the plastic and sandwich it between wood to keep straight). The heat gun can be dangerous, but there are some jobs where it is the best tool. They are cheap on Amazon (hint hint). I've partly filled up a sink with hot water then added a few pots (aka all the extra pots I could fit on the stove) of boiling water to dip larger pieces into. It works - more or less.

It was large on me too. I trimmed the kidney right back so there was not a notch at all. I then had to hot bath the kidney, butt, and ab to fit better.
