ANH AM 2.0 build... Finally
CableGuy replied to DBGrip's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Honestly, don’t be worried about it Kenny. The reason we do this hobby is to see the smile on people’s faces when we troop and to have fun trooping. Rounded or square has no impact on the joy we bring to folks at events, or the excitement we have when kitting up. -
ANH AM 2.0 build... Finally
CableGuy replied to DBGrip's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Just bear in mind that clearance and screen accurate are different things. The CRL tries to find a happy medium between screen accurate (suits thrown together quickly for filming, battered by stunt men, damaged during filming etc) and idealised. Personally, even if rounded corners can pass (as per your example) personally I’d still rather follow the reference of the suits we grew up dreaming about. Just my personal view. No offence to anyone with rounded edges. -

Nice work. That belt is looking lovely. :-) Here’s a good reference pics for when you start measuring up to cut those ab button plates. -
I’ll keep an eye out for your WIP thread... ;-)

Welcome aboard, Chris. That’s a beautiful suit of armour contained in those BBBs. Let us know if you need any pointers along the way and we’ll do our best to get you to Centurion. Best wishes Dan

I’ll just leave this here... -
Yes mate. I think the bicep clip is pretty rare in these parts. Many have passed Centurion without so you’ll be fine. I’ve seen some added in the past for those following the hero look (as the ref pics show that Han had them), but they’re not that common with most builds. Nice touch if you wanted to add it though. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Mark Unless you’re really keen on the hooks idea, a much easier way is to use poppers and elastic inside the shoulder bells and biceps. As (crudely) illustrated here: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)
CableGuy replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
Arms are looking good! :-) Not sure about your shins. I’ll let some of the RS guys chip in for that bit. Re the Hovi tip mesh - I used an AA battery to create the shape required for mine. Marked around it and cut to size. Then, just push them (carefully) into place. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Lorelei's 5'4" ATA ANH-S Centurion-Hopeful Build
CableGuy replied to TheLorelei's topic in ANH Build Threads
I think that’s only likely to happen with the gloves. The original method of rubber gloves can get sweaty and (sorry) a little stinky after a long troop. Nomex is better in this sense, I believe. Most decent rubber blasters still meet CRL requirements so it doesn’t really matter which one you clear with, they’re just not (for the most part) as detailed when you look up close. Personally, I like to troop how I cleared, following the same level of detail that I put into my build, so have to put up with sweaty gloves!! Lol -

Welcome aboard. If the DLT-19 is good enough for Han, it’s good enough for us. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Hiya Here’s a good example of a screen used belt. There was very little plastic above or below the ammo packs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hiya. As Gary mentioned, no visible fixings for EIB or Centurion. What method have you tried for gluing? Do you have some pics of your sniper knee in place? Due to the pressure sometimes required to hold the sniper knee in place, you will need to leave it clamped on for at least 48hrs whilst the glue cures. If I remember correctly, I used around 5 clamps + magnets to secure mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TK41774 requesting EIB status ANH STUNT (RS) [839]

Well done, Dave. Welcome to EI :-) Not that many changes for Centurion- see you there soon. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Great thread so far. [emoji1303] Regarding the brow, personally I’d always have a small gap above the eyes for ‘stunt’ lids. Whilst the odd one here and there had a lower brow (similar to Hero), most Stunt helmets had a ‘normal’ height brow. Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good effort, sir. IF you wanted to fine tune the tube stripe, a wooden tooth pick is the perfect tool. [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
