Ensi's ANH Stunt Build [ATA] With Centurion in mind!
TheSwede replied to Ensi's topic in ANH Build Threads
Verdict on shins: Centurion ready I would however try to close that top gap on the right shin -
I’m 5’10 and 205 Lbs, this is TM armor and no shiming, you can also check EIB/Centurion applications, most include hight/weight

The ”ultra strong” was the bad one so to speak - easily washed - and you don’t want that Sounds like that’s the one to use And the field pack is approved

Got some protection for the field pack, both from weather and to be less obvious on the way to a Troop It`s not a perfect fit but I have a few changes to make and that may fix that too Changes you say? Yes after initial hype was over and I started examination and the reference of screen packs I felt some changes were in order. First the frame, it should be closer to the seed trays, I had Shawn move the trays closer together (as per reference) thus making that gap on the top instead, guess he didn`t think to shorten the frame (and to be fair I also missed that and the other fixes on the "signing-off photos he sent before shipping) but that´s no biggie, I actually first opted to assemble it myself but later changed my mind to have more time to work on the FOTK...so all is good, now I get to say I DID work on the pack First up dismantle some parts Almost made a bohoo when marking were to cut and making it to short but disaster was averted and I made my cut at the top mark and then used the cut-of to mark other end. Put it back together and yepp that works Lab pipe was still a go even though the frame got shorter, they vary in lenght between packs and I like the longer version better and the "Look Sir, droids/move along" packs lab pipe is somewhat elusive, it`s missing in some scenes to be back in the next and the lengh of it has yet to be confirmed atleast for the "Look Sir, droids" version of it as far as I know so artistic freedom it is (the ref pic saying "look Sir droids is another type of pack Davin Felth but not the one I´m emulating, it`s just to show the lab pipe) Shorter version The mortar tube however was to long to begin with as as seen below in comparison, the top should be about level to the mushroom cap and the radar dish should have some black backing (didn`t have anything for the backing so have to revisit that) and also sit a little lower. When making this post I also noticed that the "shells" configuration is a bit off, they are afixed to a plate and that should sit lower on the tray and the individual positions of them are also off . I`ll have a think and see if I will correct that. I started by removing the control panel and luckely it was glued with E6000 (or similar glue, I can`t be sure) so I pryed it off and the leftover was easily rubbed off Then it was a matter of removing this little guy and after a few failed attempts I opted to cut it close to the end and just hack away That did the trickSo I glued that and the control panel back on with CA glue, not having learned anything about the advantage with E6000. Then drilled some holes for the "tubes" put them on and it was time for weathering I´ll might do some tweeking but overall I´m happy with it so I sent pics to GML for approval And here it is all tucked in safe and sound and.....that reminds me @CableGuy the hairspray was the culprit, I was puzzled to why the weathering on the suit came of so easily in the rain when I had a really hard time removing it from the EFX helmet and so, upon inspection of the spraycan it says "easily washed out" - GAAHHHBut...atleast the mystery is solved, the can I previously had used ran out on another project and I just figured any can would do and the one I got was labeled "ultra strong" but I guess one have to read the fine print

TheSwede replied to fishgoh0nk's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
You look great in that armor so it deserves viewings Yeah those are great when you wear rubber gloves, so if you plan on going all out Centurion when you troop I can`t recommend them enough -

Congratulations Trooper and welcome to the Legion -
That would work, industrial strength would be the best option, or you could install snaps yourself

TK-21615 Requesting ANH EIB Status (844)
TheSwede replied to JenEcho's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Looking good Expert Infantry is at hand -
Put on the first "coat" of abs paste on the back pack and as it dries/hardens I turned my attention to the belt. The rubber part of it was too wide so time to cut again…..used the fabric part that was included as guide (2") could just as easily used a ruler...the belt kit was a 2 part so I got the sponge (closed cell foam) from ebay. Started cutting and....hmmm...that smaller rubber band reminds me of something…. Liquorice!!!! After a well deserved treat it was time to cut the sponge and had it laid out for marking when it hit me Why not peel the adhesive and secure it, surely that`s gotta be easier and faster?! and---so I did, made a little rubber roll and placed it on the sponge and...well...rolled it on cut it and that`s that. And with all three layers (not cut to size yet though)

Skull's First Build - ANH-S (AP)

Bummer….take care man and hope to see you here again in the future -
So...as I decided to use an inner strip to connect the back with the bottom front piece instead od´f an overlap some more cutting was needed and as I already had markings were the overlap ended from previous session I simply took the pieces apart and traced a line and cut it. Now all the parts are layed out, ready to be glued and I choose to use CA glue and plastic weld for the job and I´m sure there are other ways to do it but this is how I did. I started with the sides to the back, top part is closest to the camera. I then glued the front pieces together and forgot to take pics of each section but the top and bottom piece gets glued to the tabs on the middle piece that you can see two pics up. I maneuvered the pieces together and rough fitted them (I tested this during the "tape-phase") Made sure everything lined up and taped the middle piece to the sides for a good hold and started to glue the bottom piece, pulled it apart and spread the glue on that lower edge. I then used the plastic weld to glue the middle and top part - repeat for the other side. I glued the inner strip for last and put tape on the outside to make it easier. All glued together, next up is some filling with abs paste and sanding before painting. Been thinking about the cover and think I´ll go with magnets altogether and not use a hinge at the bottom to be able to take it of completely but we will see, have some other ideas for the back pack as well but for now...to be continued

It doesen’t, that’s why I said optional And I wasen’t totally clear I meant the rear tab so I’ll edit that. @REAPERofDAISYS the more I think about it the more I feel that those flat sections may be a hard sell for L2/L3 but I think it’s best to let the DO:s chime in on that so you don’t have to work getting the coverstrips of and it wasen’t absolutely necessary (still think it will look much better though) so....calling @ukswrath and @justjoseph63

Not entirely related to armor building but my wife just gave me my own cleaning bucket so I made it ready to go we’ve had workers replacing all the Windows in our apartment so it’s about to be put to good use

If you like it then leave it, you are good to for approval on both counts

After thinking about it and looking at the CRL I have decided to cut the back plate making it butting up to the bottom piece and glue it with an inner strip, the pack in the CRL has no visible line at the bottom and mine has so as I´m going to fill that I might as well get that bottom seam seamless as well.
