TheSwede replied to DBGrip's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Same as Frank and congrats on blaster but were’s the pic? -
Hey could you try and upload the pics directly into the thread?
-
We read you loud ’n clear The screen used ones used 1inch black elastic, sewn into a loop.

Another Stormtrooper in the making - awesome and welcome to FISD
-
Great weathering
-
Great job
-
Well...not to sure what he meant, I can`t really see any return edge to clean up so it`s possible he was talking about evening out the offset...but best to have him answer that
-
Aha (meaning I´ll go check)
-
If you mean for movement/comfort I would start to trim like this, using a dremmel with a sanding drum.
-
The hight of the shins are as they should, I just posted on another thread you got that I would trim them but I ment circumference so we are clear on that If fitted correctly the shins will dig on the boot but not so much it can do any real damage, wear and tear is to be expected and in my opinion ads to the Stormtrooper-look. If you want you can protect them by adding soft velcro on the inside of the shins

Question about velcro-ing the lower legs
TheSwede replied to rzill's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Look at that - a Stormtrooper in the making I would trim them down, they look quite big, I noticed the right isn`t sitting right at the boot but the left also look big so I would look into making them smaller but if you rather go with padding your good to go I would do the opposite and raise the right one but either way works Besides from your questions I noticed some other points that I feel would improve the overall look of your armor but as I know you really just want to be done with it I leave it up to you to decide if you want to hear them and to be clear, neither of my suggestions affect your chances to get approval, in that case I would have said….they are just for improving the look With that said…..seeing your self in Stormtrooper armor, how awesome was that?! wait...I know the answer to that: TOTALLY awesome -
Shoulders look great RS armor is very flexible so for the butt plate you could try to move the strapping to the ends and also make them thighter before you go the hot water route.

MandalorianHelm First TK Build (AP)
TheSwede replied to MandalorianHelm's topic in ANH Build Threads
That should hold them -
Hey Mark Looks like you have Anovos right? That armor will be a challenge for a bigger person but it can be done SO..let`s see, keeping the gaps to a minimum is key but you have to work with what you got and by looking at the pics I think you can lower the back plate even more to reduce the gaps and by doing so you will also have to straighten the tabs of the back plate by removing more on the return edge, otherwise it will tear/crack when you try to bend it and you do this on the inside as well. Try pushing lower on the cod and raising the ab/cod as high as possible and that should make it straighter and when you lower the back plate the kidney will line up more and you should have a nice even space to measure out the shims

Laura’s 2mm ABS ANH Hero TK build [TM] – aiming for Centurion
TheSwede replied to Laura's topic in ANH Build Threads
The sides of the boxes flare out just a little so take them down a few mm and that should help and I would start with the inner boxes and shave of 2mm and then test if they go in properly and then cut the outer to match Well I´m not a female but...based on your pic it looks like you can raise the whole torso section up and still have clerance at the neck/throat so I would try that first….and...if that`s not a GO then I call upon the "AB-slicer master" aka @Cricket as she most definetly can help you with that They are slotted pan heads so that`s all good, how do they match up to the TD size wize? Overall you made some great progress and besides from your questions I just want to ad a small note about the cover strips, they seem to be a bit long in general so you might want to check on that to avoid eventuell snagging and pinching And finally: Frank...there`s actually 4 screws for the TD (sorry, just couldn`t help my self) Oh BTW congrats on the "hall of fame" -
Awesome, already looking forward to it
-
Everything rough-trimmed and sort of lined up as I´m not 100% sure I paired them correctly, perhaps someone can shime in on that. And I have the TD painted and clear coated although it looks a bit dull in this pic. I also sanded the shoulder bells so they are ready for paint And was about to glue the tabs but they didn`t seem to line up right, atleast they looked different from reference pics so I halted on that...I´ll probably need to trim the support tabs but no other KB build has mentioned that so perhaps the bells are upgraded and made smaller, as many have commented on how big they were and maybe the tabs have stayed the same.... I don`t know...anyways here´s how it looks. The tab is protruding just over 1/2 inch at the top
-
Aah man...enough with the trimming already
-
As long as they are aligned with the ends then it’s accurate, your plastic belt is not that far to the left that it should be a problem
-
Yeah I can only imagine, looking forward seeing how it all turns out

Happy BBB-day
