Fish's ANOVOS Build Thread - Aspiring for L3
TheSwede replied to fishgoh0nk's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
You shouldn`t have to if you follow Dan`s "cupping-advise" to the fullest, hiking that cod up as high you can without changing the tone of your voice of course I have big thighs as well (squating 2 reps of 441 Lbs- yeah that´s me bragging) and no problem with the cod (mine is really upp there...to much info? ah okey...) Btw my shadowtrooper is Anovos and I just cut it to the trim line. -

Agreed I should have been more clear and said: try to keep the back plate as high as possible with minimal gap between back and kidney and idealy no gap kidney/butt -
About time you got started - the empire needs you and....show us what you got

You could also put tape further to the ends (as illustrated) were the connection is meant to be, and see how that works and also use tape to simulate the crotch-strap (on the outside) and that will also help pull the ends of the butt plate up aginst the kidney and also dropping the center "butt tape" a few mm so it`s not air-thight between the peices And yours look just like the Troopers in this sceen so you`re actually screen-accurate And speaking af screen-accuracy, keep the back plate high, as seen on almost every Trooper in the movie (above and below) -
Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)
TheSwede replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
Lengthwise is good to go do you have a lot of room in the biceps? Keeping them slim helps mobility of the arms (and ads to that nice screen-look) but not to slim though, just have to find the sweet-spot were they still can slide up and down on the arm....so...always make final measurements with the undersuit on -
If you`re not able to go any smaller at all this might be a hard fix as using strips to cover all of that won`t look good either and with using CA glue there is a risk of damaging the pieces when tying to pry of the strips so might be worth checking with your GML if it`s needed first. If trying to fix this I would try something like this….going a bit bigger with the strip and moving it to the right and one can go further than illustrated to even out the gaps at the bottom, see "hollow arrow" but that would make the seam look of, see "full arrow"....Another option would be to cut the flat surface and shim but that would be alot of work so the bottom line is to check with GML first

I would trim something like this, a bit shaky but you get the general idea

Looking on the front it looks really great- very good job On the back I have some suggestions to make your suit look it`s best...well in my opinion atleast First we have the shoulder bridges, there was a recent discussion regarding the big rear tab and it was established that it don`t exist on the movie suits and you can read about it here It`s allowed per CRL to have the big tab present but it looks much better without (my opinion) and is screen accurate - totally up to you though, just wanted to let you know The other thing is that there`s a lot of raised edges showing on the back of biceps and thighs. do you have room to make the pieces smaller? Or a combination of making them a bit smaller and using wider strips to help hide it better. Overall your suit looks great and the general public would never notice this, I´m just trying to help you look your best - carry on Trooper

Looking at the photos I would remove more, atleast half of what`s left….were Tony pointed those nifty Arrows And...I´m soooo looking forward seeing you all suited up - you`re almost there

I don`t -
Just Like Greg said - no need to worry, the glue holds just fine just make sure you aligne those lower details, front and back
-
It won’t resolve it but definitely make it less
-
I agree with Dan on this and as I´m the "fellow trooper" with the RS kit (Shins are TM though) he referenced to I´ll chime in and saying that RS has an offset but that mostly takes place at the knee and the consesus is that that`s what the ammo pack is for (to hide it) and on that subject: If you got the 1.5 ABS there`s no need to pre-bend it, it flexes enough so when it comes to putting it in place (measuring and drilling the holes are done) just secure one end and then bend it by hand - done Back to the thighs…..I´m stealing the pic Dan provided showing how to alligne the thighs (lower detail), this way reduces the offset att the top. And finally: Mobility will never be great and my advice would be to be careful not to remove to much, the original armor has minimal gaps between armor parts and in my opinion that`s the look everyone should strive fo - simply looks the best I can barely manage stairs but never considered cutting away more but everyone is free to decide for themselves, atleast to a point (can`t just cut`n slice) To give you an idea I´m 5.10 and kept leg pieces to original lenght and by clicking the "sandtrooper-video WIP" link you can see how it looks when walking

Seam on the side a problem?
TheSwede replied to REAPERofDAISYS's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
If it were me I wouldn`t by them: #1 they might be passed by a GML BUT they dont look good with that seam and as Greg mentioned, they are fairly short. #2 I cant see how they can pass L2/L2 with that seam as those levels are meant for higher accuracy, a GML has no say about that as they are FISD specific but we can ask Tony @ukswrath to hear whats what If you like the shorter version and want to dye them like the originals, these would be a better choice ----------- -
Thanks and I’m waiting on my pack so I just used tape in the meantime
-
On my other suits I noticed after a while that the small washers started to eat through said elastic and this was a way to prevent that and using a full strip instead of tabs makes it more rigid
