  1. Congratulations on beeing Expert Infantry
  2. Well this post don`t have much to to with the FOTK but did you notice that stuff in the top right corner in previous post? does it look familiar now when you look at it? If you think it`s TK parts you are correct….I have in between my own builds also been building a hybrid TK for my son and I wasn`t going to post about it but obviously changed my mind, it`s not "enough" for a build thread so decided to put it up here just to show my friends what I´m up to Apologies if this is to much of a side track. This is how far we gotten, I say we because my son has been cutting and sanding as well and the goal is to have him joining the Galactic Acadamy (he`s 16 come november) in time for Heroes Comic Con in September so we can troop officially together. Anyway...the hybrid part of it is as he has an FX kit and black series helmet and I bought a torso section from Anovos when they offered parts. I also had a kittle belt laying around from when I was going to modify my FX kit (oh yes I have one too) but I got some better armor instead so...now you might think why did you get TM and RS armor for yourself and your son "get stuck" with FX?? Well….I´m not to sure he`s totally in to the whole beeing a Stormtrooper as much as wanting to make me happy so if and when he decides he wants to be a full member of the 501st when he`s 18 I will see to it he does so in style, this hybrid will work for now Beeing a hybrid and all I still want it to look as good as possible so the outside is with Centurion specs but the inside is not built using the screen accurate method. Okey. as I said this is the progress up untill today..oh drop boxes and hand plates are RS and the TD is TM and I also used my TM bells to trim the FX ones to a little nicer shape Today I started on the FX belt and timmed it down as much as possible, glued on some snap plates so it`s easy to replace with something more accurate down the road, made the angle cuts and lined up the drop boxes and glued down the elastic. Next was to connect chest and back and after fitting I simply drilled for the snaps instead of making a snap plate and gluing that...I promise it gets hidden by the shoulder bridges Promise kept Bridges are held on with velcro, did the other one,,,, ...and then I installed snaps for the shoulder bells to finish the connections for the torso Pics to follow show the connections, outside Centurion in mind - inside easy to take apart in mind..except for the butt/kidney plate but they are basicly the same size as the ab so no real need to be able to take those apart.
  3. Yeah, thinking I was missing some decals I asked about it and they were the ones telling me to use marker to paint the "side trim" as they said they had changed the decals for not beeing any good I see you got the squares, that would have been nice to have though...not looking forward to cut out all of those..oh well…
  4. Thanks and I used metallic paint from Biltema
  5. After the blaster it was time for the back pack and I decidedafter the primer that it was good enough, so after some paint and clear coating it was ready for the detailing, there were no decals for the "trim" that goes all around the sides so that`s painted and no small squares pattern that goes on the handle/grip of the lid so I have to figure that that out...all in all pretty happy with it and still waiting on magnets for the lid so that`s only taped in the position I want it. It`s wery light so I´m sure magnets would hold it just fine on the back plate but as I´m going to have the vest I will use those straps to also secure the pack...not decided how yet, have some ideas though but need some armor done to be able to test those ideas
  6. My 3d kit didn`t have that raised section for the mounting screws so I took some thin abs and made one After some cutting and painting this is how it ended up
  7. You forgot to ad that selfie pic kidding aside you look great Jeff and I don’t think they will have you retake the pics just because that elusive drop box getting caught on the thigh but you never know so good call in waiting it out and I really like the low biceps, ads to the ANH look and feel of the suit
  8. Butt flare is a common ”Trooper-issue” and yours isn’t that bad but if you like you could try moving the snaps closer to the edges, use kidney plate to determine placement and/or a hot water-bath to shape it more inwards and you won’t be sneeking up on any rebels I’m afraid - noise is to be expected but hey.. we only do full-out assaults anyway
  9. Wohoo!! That`s awesome news and the pics are great tooWe are in for a treat with this build and I´m glad to hear I played a part in it happening
  10. Botched pose or not that still looks amazing - fantastic weathering and in replicating ”your Trooper” Think you are correct about darker lens though and
  11. So awesome you just HAVE to replicate this pose when finished!
  12. Thanks Greg but I have this to say: I am but the learner and you are the Master
  13. Not much to show but I have put in some work in sanding in between working on the Sandtrooper-stuff and now I think it’s ready for primer...in other words - to be able to spot more need of filling/sanding
  14. Used to play that on Nintendo (the old NES) They had sort of a sleepy-look to them but it was more obvious in person, I like it much better now and thanks also funny to see how colors differ in pics, helmet looks almost yellow on that first one... and added another layer of a different spray, stiff stuff was nowhere to be found exept for one seller on eBay but they haven’t replied so, and gonna add some more layers just to be on the safe side and then rubb that shine off if it don’t come down on its own
  15. Decided to cut the eyes some more, want to look meaner on troops so I guess that rules out swat beforeAfter Liking that ”joker-grin”
  16. Greg is doing the ”stop that ship-Trooper” which is a different helmet, they do a comparision in the one you linked though and another article with just the ”stop that ship” http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-stop-that-ship-helmet.htm but @wook1138 have you cut a 4th tooth?
  17. Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! That’s B E A utiful!!
  18. Thanks it’s fun to work on it and it takes longer to make a post about it than the work itself so you’ll be alright
  19. Small update, decided to cushion the back with some foam....so I hot glued some fabric to a sheet of foam and then hot glued that to the pack and voilà also decided (not done yet though) to move the top straps closer together, although they are at the right position, moving them closer will make them sit better over the back/chest tabs not pushing the bells down over the biceps how screen accurate as that may be I don’t want that
  20. I would trim something like this, you can of course trim more or less if you like
  21. I would ad a tiny piece of abs and then paste it
