  1. Also to add to the mistakes. When ordering batteries and chargers, make sure they use the appropriate wall outlet to your location/country. So now, on top of a flashlight I probably won't use, I also have a battery for it that I can't charge because it came with e EU charger. Adaptor ordered...
  2. My refund process started early in September (or there abouts). It's since been raised to "priority" and "super priority" and now maybe "super duper we really mean it this time priority ticket". So we'll see.
  3. Thanks. So is the back plate only connected to one side?
  4. I had in my head it should be black. Is this correct?
  5. A few more questions. Do you put this on over your head or step into it? Does it open a little at the back, and then you snap it shut? I need to take a little off of my Abdomen armour, but I wasn't sure if it would need to still fit over my shoulders or have my butt squeeze through. And that back plate is just glued to one side? Will the "slash" on the sides just get painted black? I sort of thought this might be elastic, but it looks like on your build and on Jimmi's it just gets painted? Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm thinking my shins will be okay, but I will need to trim the thighs. I was worried because the top of the cover strip is nicely beveled, but it should get covered by drop boxes. Maybe I'll start an inch at a time. I have started doing the teeth on the helmet in the meantime. Lots of other little jobs to do...
  7. Couple of questions... Is there a rough recommendation for thigh fitting? Should they sit above the knee cap and roughly reach where your hip bends when sitting? I know everyone is different, but I'm look for a place to start with these thighs. I guess my next question would be shins. Right now they fit quite well, but the top edge reaches just past the bottom of my knee cap, I'm thinking for comfort reasons at least, I'd like it a little lower. Where do other troopers shins reach?
  8. I'm a little torn on weathering. On one hand I like the look of the pure white Stormtrooper that I always had invisioned. But on the other hand the little bit of weathering really seems to make things look more realistic. Especially on the blasters. And if their blasters look a little worn, shouldn't their armour? I also think that a little weathering might help some of the details on the Rogue One TK stand out a little more. The extra edge on the cover strips and stuff like that.
  9. I drilled through both sides of the blaster (I hadn't added the extra fins yet) I think because the Hasbro blaster is scaled down a bit the screws didn't really line up with the holes already there. I had to use the screws that came with the Chicago screws even though the screws from the rail were the same thread. The rail screws were a bit longer and the Chicago screws became solid at a certain point so they would only take a really short screw. Also I had to cut about 3/16" of of the Chicago screws... This is what's visible on the left side of the blaster (before t-rails installed)... Here you can see that the rail is large enough to cover the screw heads on that side... Here is the clamp added to the rail - I had to notch out the adjoining t-rails. Not sure if this is because the Hasbro blaster is just a little smaller? It wasn't a lot, just about a millimeter. And here is the light. It's a bit too big and I have ordered a replacement to see if I can get a little closer. Also - if you look into ordering these import flashlights, see if they come with a battery. They seem to take an odd size. I didn't select the "with battery/charger option" so I had to order a battery and charger after the fact.
  10. While I waited for armour I had started playing with a Hasbro/Doopy Doos build. I wasn't sure at the time how detailed I would get and then I realized that a Hasbro blaster would only get me so far anyways. But then I gave up on Anovos and ordered from Jimmi a Rogue One TK. So I had this blaster mod started and thought I'd try to go about attaching a rail and flashlight to make it a little more Rogue Oneish, although I'll eventually be getting a more screen accurate blaster to hopefully get me to the rake of Expert Infantry. So really this was just a little bit of fun I had while I got in gear to tackle an armour build. I won't bore anyone with all of the details - but maybe people can learn from my mistakes along the way. So here are the basics - sanded down all the words on the blaster... Cut out the rail (which I wasn't going to do originally but once I got started it seemed like the thing to do... I also started filling in screw holes - which in retrospect I should have waited on doing. So I did all most of the doopy doo add-ons and triming - protected the LED very carefully... Then after I decided I may as well take off the extra fin on the lower left and add the holes so that the blaster would make it to Expert Infantry - even if I never use it that way. When I drilled the holes I mangled the wiring for the LED pretty bad. The bit I used just dug into the plast too quickly. Speed kills man. This is when I started to regret filling the screw holes and glueing on the doopy doo parts. I figured I would do a lot of damage at this point try to get everything apart. So I just kept going and painted and weathered a bit. My parts arrived that I had ordered off of ebay. I went cheap because I wasn't too sure how this would work. I ordered a rail.... A small tactical flashlight that included a mounting bracket... And I had ordered some Chicago screws (2")...
  11. Do you have a thickness in mind? I looked for scale model supplies. They usually have sheets of polystyrene, but it's usually thin. https://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/pls/pls91108.htm This was the thickest I saw from this place. These sheets are only 12" and may not be long enough though.
  12. The big box(s) arrived... Plus my splitter for the helmet electronics. I only had time for a quick look but as others have said I don't see much to do in the way of filling and touch ups. I did a few quick test fits too and I'm hoping that things will be pretty close. The forearms, biceps, and shins seemed really close. The thighs were a bit big. I have to admit, now that it's here, it is a little overwhelming, but as they say, "you just have to eat the elephant one bite at a time."
  13. I guess you could make a helmet out of a see through material, then have the white and markings printed over sort of like they do on fully painted buses and sliding doors - your vision would still get distorted from the contours, but it would be better. Up close it probably wouldn't be very screen accurate though. Didn't I see somewhere that someone was looking into installing a viewing screen inside the helmet that would show a full view? It filmed from outside of the helmet then used a display inside? I think they looked at multiple camera views and everything.
  14. My Rogue one armor is getting picked up at post office tomorrow. I'll open it and take a few pictures.
  15. Once you register then you can add items to a cart. I see a 'login' button at the top right, but since I already have an account I can't tell if there is an option to create an account after login fails. Right now it looks as though they're sold out of e-11 kits and conversion kits. They used to have a feature where you could get emailed when they became available, but right now those two items aren't even visible on their site. I sort of remember it not being very straight forward on how to register to that site. Hopefully if you just poke around a little you'll be able to get it to work.
  16. Jim Tripon's Rogue One TK is fiberglass and flexible fiberglass. It should be pretty durable and easy to fix any problems with a little bondo. I think he has too sizes but I think most of the difference is in the size of the thighs. Not sure if that will help you at all.
  17. It sounds plausible, but it should still be happening a little quicker.
  18. This looks like a a detailed build. I was looking at one of these kits to do once I have my armor ready. I'm working on a Hasbro/doopy's build right now, but I'd like to go Centurion so I will need an upgraded blaster.
  19. What's the regular price in the states for this bin? I'm on the border so may just look to grab one next time I am across. I also think I'll get Plasti-dip from the US. Seems more reasonable than what's available in Canada. Edit: Regular Price is $64.00 US. Still a lot cheaper than trying to buy in Canada.
  20. I sort of knew what I was signing up for so I'm not really mad with Anovos. I picture them as a start-up and they are trying to balance their expenditures by getting customers to pre-pay. This is fine until they experience these huge delays. How many suits are they producing if they are asking for a 9 month waiting period, then extending it to 12, then more? If it was only once, it's probably not a huge deal. But it seems to happen over and over again and I just don't want to wait any longer. If I was looking at a second suit, maybe I'd wait it out, but I'd really like to get moving on this.
  21. I'm not quite at two weeks so I'm being patient. It only took them nine months to realize they couldn't supply the armour I ordered, I'm sure they'll refund just as expediently.
