  1. Where did you end up getting the boots and pauldron from?
  2. I think some of the armour makers may do completed kits. The problem is fitting it properly. Anovos May be your only option for a Death Trooper. There is probably a long wait time through them.
  3. Jimmiroquai is the only one doing these kits that I have heard of yet... They are a combination of rigid and flexible fibreglass.
  4. I used the brush on method in my fiberglass helmet. If you do dribble, it seems to peel off pretty easy. I put some of the velcro to hold padding in before I "painted" otherwise I would have probably needed to scratch off some of the plastidip for adhesion. It does help "black-out" the helmet quite a bit, and I think it looked better both from the outside and well as the inside.
  5. That's a tough call. Since their shipping estimates are for their customers and their refunds are for ex-customers you can imagine where their priorities lay. My 14 day refund took around 10 weeks if that helps. Others have received it faster, other slower. It's almost like scheduling isn't their forte.
  6. How about the forearms? Do you thing you could slide them in with one side glued?
  7. Worked on the lenses among other things... I used three T-nuts which I trimmed down a little so the lenses would sit closer to the openings. I also shortened the bolts a little. And from the front... I plastidipped the inside after adding some velcro for padding. I'm waiting on some fans and some flexible loom then I hope to try and get that all worked in. I was going to wait for warmer weather before I started painting, but I really feel like I could finish this helmet up pretty soon...
  8. Yeah. It's flexible, but not that flexible. Are you able to slide your shin in from the top with it clamped without putting too much stress on the joint?
  9. I’m planning n using E6000. I’ve started using it on the biceps.
  10. I am already stumbling through a R1 build.
  11. If you "re-rivet" will the ears cover any extra holes?
  12. Mine finally came through. September 18th I cancelled my order, November 28th I received the refund. I don't know how many times they "escalated" my request. All I can tell you is to be patient and to send them little reminders every couple of weeks so that they don't forget about you.
  13. Did you glue the fronts of your shins together completely? Is there enough flex to put them on and take them off? Do you think any reinforcement is needed? I guess same for the forearms. Did you glue one seem and them velcro for the other? I guess forearms you can sort of slide through and then close, but I'm worried about the shins having enough flex. Or do you slide your calf through and then put on your boots and close the backs?
  14. Awesome thanks. I have some heavy duty tin snips I might try then. The thighs are the main area I’m going to need to trim on my R1TK from Jimmi.
  15. What have you guys been using to trim the fiberglass armor when you need to?
  16. If the R1TK is supposed to be a functional representation, I would loose the subtle swoop in the on the eye for L 3. I don’t really see it and I’m not convinced it’s on every helmet and the control images don’t show it. if the Rogue One TK is more representative of the idealized Stormtrooper I would think the helmet would be symmetrical. just my 2 cents.
  17. Maybe the reference to the tears and traps could be re-worded. "Tears and traps may not be hand painted" I'm guessing that this means there should physically be a tear and trap with indented lines or vents and that they aren't just stickers or painted on. But I think that hand painting should be allowed as long as they are physically represented. Perhaps something like: "Tears and traps are built out from helmet and depth can visibly be seen. Grooves are indented to represent venting. Tears and traps are not stickers or painted representations" Does this make sense?
  18. I like to think that the cover strips are built in. The construction method is sort of overlap, but it is hidden by the built in cover strip.
  19. I started with just a drill bit on the teeth and then used a bunch of different files. On the stripes I got a little bolder and used a dremel for most of it, then the files.
  20. Thanks. I'm going to try and add the blue behind them and then I'll get a better idea if they need to get cleaned up any more.
  21. I have finished up the teeth... and am working on the tube stripes... Cleaning out the fiberglass can be a little messy... And pretty much done... Maybe a little clean-up here and there. I find that when ever I think I have one spot finished, I turn the helmet to tackle the next pot and I see more to clean out. I started fitting the lenses as well. They were hard to cut. I plan on using the T-Nut method, but I find that they are a little too long - the ones I found anyways. I have cut about half of them off and it seems to help the lenses sit more flush. You can see where I am cutting compared to the original T-Nut.
  22. Voted. But it was hard to choose. Great options.
