1. What about some of that "Back to black" spray, for black plastic car parts?
2. Where are you based? You might find a 501st member local to you, who is happy to let you try on their TK armour?
Just a thought
3. Make sure to switch to 'Request desktop site' from Safari browser options.
4. Some heatshrink sleeve over the ends of the clips works well
5. Wow - this Stelmax 1985 stuff is really good! Very easy to use, sets very quickly and really strong bond! Smells a bit, though I'd consider using this on a future build for sure.
6. Cool, thanks, that's exactly as i'd imagined the process. It's for the shock trooper. Need to re-do a couple of worn elastic straps at some point.Cheers
7. Problem with doing that, is that 1. You will lose the reinforced 'lip' around the edge of the opening, and 2. The loose nature of the wrist section may crumple and cover parts of the forearm section of armour. Trial and error, though, you find what suits you when trooping
8. Assuming you're using with a TK, the long chemical gloves tuck nicely into the forearm piece. Use cotton glove liners to help reduce the sweat build-up within the gloves.
9. Nah, Kessel Run... That was totally a race, right?
10. Might be worth taking a painted sheet of plywood for a plinth to stand on, just to make you look like an authentic mannequin
11. Cheers guys. So how do you apply it? I'm assuming you put glue on both armour sections AND on the elastic and then on top of the elastic, too? Does the glue need to go tacky before mating surfaces together?
12. Sorry to disappoint Make me one, if it makes you happy, though
13. DLT-19 is on order Backpack... I don't think i'll be doing that tbh, especially now the shock trooper is playable in-game without it. I reckon shock troopers should be fast and manouverable (easier said than done )
14. Got round to taking a couple of photos of the completed outfit:
15. SDS kit can be made to look very nice indeed Excellent work
16. Yep, velcro (industrial strength / heavy duty) works well. I find using the fuzzy side works best at adhering to the curves of a stormtrooper helmet. Let it adhere to surface for 24 hours to help the bond.
17. This is amazing!
A couple of questions if you don't mind?
Is it a standard size helmet?
Are you using CA superglue for armour?
18. This is gonna be ridiculously cute

Great job on the main armour so far!
19. Their communication is virtually non-existent. Delivered with a signature required by courier. Yours may be different, as you are overseas?
20. Both times i've ordered (UK to UK), total time was 3 weeks from ordering to delivery.
21. Guns? As in the control of, or the workings of?
22. Disney is selling Star Wars films aimed at 12 year olds, just as Lucas did. Any new iteration of stormtrooper wlll likely cause the same discussions with 40+ year olds in 30 years time
I like the clean lines of the RO troopers - I saw clean lines in 1977, but Hi-Def wasn't invented then
