  1. Congratulations!!!!!!!
  2. Albuquerque was a blast! What I got to see of it anyway... Seriously though, I feel like we built an amazing set of armor in the short time that we had and I was super excited that you got to suit up in a mostly finished state before I left. Great feeling seeing it on you and your excitement as a result. Can't wait to see you get your first 501st approval and then move on to EIB & Centurion!
  3. I wonder if the plaintiffs who settled were paid, because apparently the lawyers representing Anovos weren't.
  4. Very nice design and execution! Always love seeing new techniques to deal with the shins. I hope this doesn't come across as trying to detract from your method, but I feel it's worthwhile to note that in Cricket's method the magnets attached to the outer cover strip snap down into a matched recess inside the leg armor/inner cover strip, so any side to side movement of the magnets isn't possible which maintains their pole/pole strength. Image for clarity:
  5. Along with other members of the Georgia Garrison, I participated in the filming of a very high quality Star Wars fan film called Scorekeeper. It was officially released today. Check it out on YouTube and enjoy!
  6. I see you got everything in there! Good job, looks great!
  7. Not even a little offended! I can't claim credit for blacking out the inside, the inspiration came from many threads here. And stuffing all of the electronics inside just took some time until I found the method that fit around my head, hope it works for you too! Yes, shortening is a good idea IMO, especially if you're screws/bolts are long, you risk scratching your face. If you look at my second picture you'll see I shortened the exposed screw to just above the nut, I left a little length on it just so I'd have an easier time getting the nut threaded with everything else in place.
  8. Not at all. Unless you have visible wires hanging out or something like that, then you'd likely be asked to clean those up. And as far as the audio system goes, it's EIB/Centurion ready out of the box as the Hovi-MIX tips meet the Level 2 requirements.
  9. Both my ANH TK and Shadow TK are double snapped with nylon plates and I've had no issues with unsnapping so far (24 troops plus other events in the ANH, probably half that in the Shadow), E6000 is quite strong once it's cured. One plate did have a corner lifting but that was probably my fault during the gluing process.
  10. Your results may vary, but I did not have any reaction with my Tandy snaps, E6000, and the armor, all of my snap plates are nylon. I did place the glue on the nylon around the snaps, so perhaps that helped avoid some of the interaction between the E6000 and the metal. Maybe test glue a plate or two in an inconspicuous area (the ab to chest plate connection comes to mind as the upper ab is usually hidden under the chest plate) and then go from there. I did not clamp my plates, just held them in place with my fingers for a few minutes and then left them to cure. E6000 seems to set a bit faster on nylon than with plastic/plastic connections because it can "breathe" through the nylon. Also, be sure to lightly sand the plastic where the plates are going to go for better adhesion. Tip: I have found that sometimes searching this site via Google works better than the built in search feature, just type in site:whitearmor.net and then your search terms and see if that helps for future searches.
  11. Well Lou beat me to it, exactly what I was typing up regarding the bug lights.
  12. Great work! I used 2" thick memory foam cut to size for Boba's pouches, looks like you could use 1" thick for that pouch. I like the memory foam because it doesn't give the pouches hard edges, which makes them look naturally full. Then again, they're thinner cloth pouches. It's also still easy to cut to accommodate a speaker or a small box for trading cards.
  13. By saying "with a folding stock", do you mean a functional folding stock or just present but non-functional?
  14. Here's my take on some additional wheel covers : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4127480
  15. Fit perfectly on my smaller Husky 35 in. bin! Thanks for a great share!
  16. So almost a year now since I was approved. 19 official troops and some more unofficial events/conventions under my white ammo belt (I really need to update my troop thread here & troop some more too) and the AP armor is still going very strong. I've had a couple small cracks to deal with but nothing major, one of them was actually a result of how I was packing the armor into the rolling case, easy fix there. After building an Anovos kit (more on that in a second) I've really come to appreciate the proper thickness and durability of the AP kit. I've put some automotive detailing experience into keeping it shiny and mostly scratch free and it makes a huge difference. Posts are more fun with pictures, so here I am meeting the big boss at Dragon Con: And lucky guy that I am, my wife now has a Legacy TK to troop along with me in white armor. She also has an approved Mara Jade & Padme Lake Dress, somehow she ended up with more approved costumes than I have! For now... Back to what I was saying about Anovos, I snagged a great deal on a Shadow Trooper kit and built it just in time for Dragon Con (as in I was finishing the last pieces after we checked in to the hotel). I need to make a few minor adjustments and then I'll be submitting it for approval. Apparently Shadow Troopers can find all of the droids they're looking for: That's all for now!
  17. Your certificate was added to your request post here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40769-request-your-eib-certificate-here/?do=findComment&comment=658427 Just click the link provided there to access a digital copy of your certificate to save and print out. Congrats on EIB!
  18. Saw this video this morning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dz4eSdEWQA Looks like Anovos provided numerous helmets, some in multiple quantities, for display at SWGE.
  19. If I'm not mistaken, it's @Cricket!!
  20. I have Ukswrath's audio system, hearing assist, and fan kit and I recommend them all, especially for having a clean, self-contained helmet. I'm still working on the hearing assist, when I use it with the fans on it tends to buzz just loudly enough to drown out what's going on outside the helmet, I'm going to install some padding to dampen/isolate the fan vibrations though. Should fix it right up. I love the audio kit too. For crowd heavy troops I'll run a splitter and an Aker under my chest plate for more volume but for a majority of the troops the audio kit is more than sufficient. Here's how I stuffed everything in my AP helmet. It gets a bit tight going on or coming off, but once it's on, I have plenty of room. I glued each component on some scrap ABS as a mounting bracket/surface and used the ear screws as main mounting points. I backed the brackets that go up into the helmet with industrial Velcro to support the weight and to keep them from flopping down. I did find that it made a noticeable difference to aim the mic directly at your mouth for the most volume possible, so I used Velcro to secure it like so:
  21. So we did a preliminary test fit of most of the parts (didn't quite have the arm pieces ready yet) and any needed return edge trimming has commenced, as well as gluing down the nylon snap plates into the torso pieces to get it ready for strapping. Meanwhile I was not satisfied with trying to fit the Thermal Detonator endcaps over the provided pipe. So I took some measurements and a few hours later I have a properly sized 3D printed pipe and a perfect fit with the endcaps. Now time to sand and paint it. (If anyone building a Legacy needs one of these, PM me. )
  22. There is some visible depth from the outside when they're level like that. Here's a quick close up shot I just took, hopefully that helps!
