  1. TK-20466 registering for Master Armorer Program. #1: Christopher - TK-66402 - ANH Stunt TK EIB [658]: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39506-tk66402-requesting-anh-stunt-eib-status-ap-658 Centurion [304]: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40570-tk66402-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-ap-304 Help Details/Images
  2. Retroactive at all? My husband's got a centurion TK that would still be in the brown box without me building it with him This is an awesome idea for an awesome program. Can't wait to see it rocking!
  3. Thanks Tony! Didn't know that the action shot had to be full length; I'll suit up later this afternoon if the weather holds and get you one Here's the other photos as requested: Thigh connection from both sides Belt connections
  4. Apologies for the hijack, but what are the snaps(?) used on the belt-> ab connection there on the original? Those look like they'd work out much easier than the Line24 Tandy ones I used.
  5. Thanks!! We need to troop together sometime
  6. Buy a kit from a vetted seller, you'll be glad you did in the long run
  7. As an extra fun bit... when my husband was taking these photos for me outside our apartment, a couple of the workers ran over and asked for selfies with me haha. One asked if I was supposed to be the stormtrooper guy from the Battlefront game... I was quite impressed!

  9. Okay enough putting it off... time to weather my HWT and get it up to Centurion rank. Starting with the helmet, because why not. Starting with the pristine TK helmet Our tools... Charcoal powder and a small blush powder brush. Lightly dabbing the brush and spreading out any powder. I want to give it a cloudy look rather than anything with brush strokes or too heavy. I make sure to get a bit in some of the seam areas, but don't want too much buildup there Once it's to my satisfaction, I break out the secret weapon to keep it from wiping/smudging; hair spray. There's some great benefits It's relatively cheap It will wash off if I want to "go clean" again fairly easily It makes my armor smell flowery and stuff I prefer the Frizz-ease brand by John Frieda, It does a really good job of both relaxing the hair as well as avoiding moisture buildup. As you can see below it does a really good job of keeping my hair from poofing right out the moment there's any humidity. Where were we? Oh yeah... helmet weathering. I dab some tissues in the eye pieces of the armor so they don't get covered in hair spray, then spray down the helmet. Using a wet tissue I then went over any decals/other parts where I didn't want the spray residue to stick and wiped it off. Final helmet is lightly weathered and has a battle-worn look while not being over-the-top Any thoughts? Should the weathering be heavier/lighter?
  10. Anthony Bailey on MPED. I loved his so much I bought 6!
  11. Clever idea! I'll give that a try tonight
  12. Unfortunately because of how small I am at the waist and how much I had to reduce, it lines up with the void I'm thinking I might just pull them all together and use a ton of rare earth magnets to hold it, but not sure if holster weight would be too much
  13. Using the Tandy 24 snaps for the belt is just not working out great for me... it's a bloody pain to get the belt on, though it sticks pretty good once it's there. Any alternative suggestions for a different type of snap to use?
  14. Big box day on your birthday? Lucky!!!<br><br> The AP kit is great, you'll love it
  15. You look great! I see your biceps are riding up a bit, and that's a problem I had a whole bunch too. Do you have any strapping/padding inside of them? I had to pad mine up to make them side nicely on my arms. Also, you have a bit of overlap on your sides... you might need to make the kidney plate and butt a bit smaller still. If you look at my build thread (link in signature) I had to take mine down a pretty large amount, the picture guide might help if you decide to do that! Good luck
  16. Gas Pump Heaven also has a good trim: http://www.gaspumpheaven.com/shop/product.php?productid=16720&cat=363&page=1
  17. Hey all, With some updates to his costume fitting, as well as different accessories (space pack!, DLT-19) my husband was wondering if he'd be eligible to re-submit his costume for Centurion. Can/should he?
  18. basically only difference between ANH and ESB are the gloves, the holster, and the helmet details. Everything else is ANH since they just reused those costumes.
  19. Welcome over here!
  20. Yes, it's approvable as long as it's done within reason and to a similar extent as the screen used alterations. However your GML might push back and cause approval to take longer if they're unaware.<br><br> I personally waited to avoid just that.
  21. Didn't see that coming
  22. If you need help/advice, feel free to PM me. I'm a software engineer by trade specializing in web technologies. The image uploader sounds cool! Biggest thing for that would be sizing/optimization, though, and any limits. For example, my phone takes pictures that end up being 3mb+ each because of size. When I upload them to the forums, I usually convert them down to 1280px max on the larger aspect, which reduces them to 200-400kb in size (so I don't absolutely slaughter anyone's bandwidth reading on a mobile network). I use either photoshop or a host service such as imgur to do it, but it's honestly a bit of a pain. Facebook I'm pretty sure compresses images uploaded and limits their size to mobile optimize... so my image would become whatever their size/compression specifics are. Hosting images quickly becomes a huge DB soak, so if you guys put an uploader in, you'll definitely want to scale/compress them! For push notifications, I'm not sure you'll ever match mobile with web tech alone. You can get HTML5 push notifications using web sockets, which works great on desktop (in most circumstances), but is absolute rubbish on mobile, because mobile devices usually suspend the browser thread to save limited RAM. You'd need a dedicated app to do proper iOS/Android push notifications, but it's not something I think is really necessary unless you're going for a dedicated mobile-only target (which FISD isn't). Event reminders might be neat, but usually they're more scoped to a limited group (ie; whoever is in my facebook group for whatever purpose it serves), whereas FISD serves the world of stormtroopers, so it's probably not a feature you'd really need nor be able to leverage best. If you ever need help on any of this stuff, don't hesitate to reach out! As I said, FISD actually does a pretty dang good job on mobile performance compared to a lot of other sites I visit.
  23. For me... Integrated image uploading and scaling. Event/reminders. Push notifications on replies. Threaded-conversations within comments. And above all else, mobile optimization. FISD is actually one of the few message boards that actually is usable on a mobile device, but even then it's a bit lackluster for trying to view images or quickly navigate between pages. Many other message boards I frequent are straight out of '98 and have awful performance on a phone, so facebook serves better for casual discussion when I'm away from home. (And no, Tapatalk being a thing is not an excuse to not make a mobile-ready website forum in 2017 for anyone building something new )
  24. Good to know, cheers! Good Pauldrons ain't cheap
